It was dark. It was raining. The path was slippery, and the lack of light didn’t help at all. Jai wondered why the climate changed so suddenly. It was sunny just minutes ago. The rain poured on him, yet he felt dry.
The raging thunder above the clouds blared once again, shining his way with a faint light that saved him from an ultimate death. Jai stopped very suddenly and leaned his body back, his attention in high alert. Below him was a very steep cliff. If the thunder did not lit up, he would’ve been on death’s doorstep by now.
Thunder blared once again. It was brighter this time, and it didn’t look like it came from among the clouds like the previous ones. The light came from his side, slightly lower, so he turned to look. At the same time, a light shone, lining into a big block of transparent blue cube. Mists were seen flowing from the big cube, as if telling him it was made of ice.The big ice cube flew before it was suspended in mid air. It stopped rightThe Falcon Gate is located in the other side of the mausoleum. When the notorius Darrion led Jai to the main hallway and to the entrance of the garden, he told the thunder elemer of where he should go.“There’s a Y crossing in the garden, right? The left path leads to a building, and another is the bridge. When we go to Teacher Sora’s room, we crossed the bridge. But to reach the Falcon Gate, you head left from the bridge,” Darrion said.Jai nodded. “And then?”Darrion blinked, then he shrugged. “I don’t know. That’s as far as I went yesterday.”Jai looked at him with a flat expression. “I thought you’re showing me the way to the end.”“I’m busy chopping potatoes,” Darrion said with a supposedly, innocent smile. But Jai rolled his eyes.He then took the leather pocket that had the knife and poison darts in it. He then turned it over and over in his hands, checking it out with Darrion.“Why do you think the Matron told me to give the nun poi
A/N:Some unexpected things happened in the last few days. We just want to tell you that everything is getting better, but it had been a little bit harsh. So we're trying our best to keep up with the absence. We hope you would enjoy this chapter as much as we do. Peace.-Jai sounded so sure when he told Kefara to lead the way. But he was actually quite nervous.Back in the previous world, things like these would only happen in video games. Jai, the main character, is tasked by a Matron in a temple to go find something nearby. He was not familiar with the place, so a native would be there to help him as a guide, and he had to protect the guide until they got back. If by any chance, the guide is dead because of a monster attack, then the mission will fail and he has to restart. Or well, if he died, there's a chance to restart the mission from the last save point.Jai wished this was like a video game
“Look out, Jai!” Kefara shouted. On instinct, Jai hugged Kefara and istantly leapt to the side. He whipped his head around to see a big lizard kneeling in the position where they were standing just now.The lizard was, as Jai considered, huge.It was as tall as an average human being. It was covered with scales like normal reptiles and the color was green. It also had these thick black claws that’s as big as an adult’s joint fingers. It reminded Jai of a certain big lizard in Indonesia, the komodo dragon. But the differences are that this lizard is bigger, could stand on its two feet, and hunched back. It looked ugly. The big lizard creature looked around with its yellow cat-like, no, dragon-like eyes, and stuck its black fork tongue out.“Run, Kefara,” Jai said, already taking a stance to cover her. Then he felt her grabbing his shirt from behind.&l
A/N:We are very sorry for the slow updates. There are more health problems and my doctor insisted I rest myself for a couple of days. But we are trying to follow up. Supports are very much appreciated. Stay cool, stay healthy, and good luck for everyone.-Yunyun--Jai ran past the Falcon Gate. There were guards, monks, and nurses standing by the gate and in the hallway but Jai didn’t pay them any heed as he flashed his way through. He went through the rest area, then turning around the dragon statue and into another hallway. It was if he wouldn’t stop running. When they reached the garden, he finally heard Kefara yelling over his ears. “JAI! STOP!!”He was caught by surprise so he slipped his ground and fell forward into the grass, surprising some nuns and monks who were sweeping the leaves in the garden.Kefara also fell to the grass, but she’s lucky she didn’t fall onto her face like Jai did.Jai and Kefara both groaned.
The others didn’t believe when he told them that he was chased by a giant lizard. Even Darrion was frowning but didn’t comment on it. But Jai didn’t try to convince them about it. He let them believe what they wanted to believe. But all in all, it was a pretty good story while waiting for breakfast. After some pancakes with pinecones and honey, also a few servings of minty milk later, the participants headed for their next class. Serio told them that Teacher Anna would be waiting for them in the garden, right before the bridge like their refinement class yesterday. Now they had arrived on the spot, but the said teacher was nowhere to be seen. Instead, some nuns and a group of smaller version of nuns and monks were there. Jai recognized the three of the nuns very well. They were Matron Theresa and Kefara, and they looked like they were teaching the children. Nasha the tiny nun was also there, among the children.“Good morning, participants,” the Matron greeted them
“That is very good, Jai!” Teacher Anna complimented.A skinny man with ashen dark hair, smokey eyes, and piercings on his ears observed Jai with his chin on his hand. The man didn’t look old or young due to the make up, but if Jai had to guess, the man should be around his twenties. He is Teacher Grenner, the one who was paired up with Teacher Anna today for magic control class.“I thought you said he was the one needed teaching the most? Yet I don’t see him having trouble with his magic at all,” the man said.“That’s because his trouble is differentiating his physical and magical energy. Since he’s used to his magic, he has trouble pinpointing his physical one,” Teacher Anna replied the man while holding on Jai’s shoulder. They were currently in the bank of a river located in the northeast of the mausoleum.Yesterday, they were working on raw energy, or physical energy, as Teacher Grenner had corrected. But this time, they were working on their
So it seemed that Jai's problem was that he didn't feel anything different in his array of energies. He discussed it with Teacher Grenner as he focused on his magic control. Teacher Grenner was at first also confused when he consulted him about it."So my lightning–""Thunder," the teacher corrected, patting Jai's right shoulder. "It's way cooler. Next."Jai almost lost his control on his magic, but he managed to get back. "So my thunder, is sparky. It bites. It's warm. I focused on it, trying to get what is different in it, but I don't seem to find it."Teacher Grenner hummed. "Anything?" he asked."Yes," Jai answered. "I don't understand. It's either I can't differentiate it, or it's not there.""I don't think it's not there, it should be there," Teacher Grenner said. And then he explained some more. "Everyone has two energies inside of them. There are only a few cases of people having one energy, and those people are mostly those who only h
Jai stood up straight and observed the water wall in front of him, he had to make sure to step back a little to make space for the others to see. Also because he didn't want to be counter eleThe others did the same and their attentions were glued to the wall.Every few seconds, there were small strands of white swimming in the water.Grenner hummed and nodded his head. Then he turned to the boys."Now what do you think of the wall? What did you see from their interaction?" Grenner asked."You mean when the thunder hits the water?" Bara asked, and the teacher nodded his head in affirmation.Jai already knew the answer, as it was very common. But he didn't want to step the others way of learning.Ruhan was the first to raise his hand. "The thunder dispersed into the water.""Yes, that is a good answer, Ruhan. But I was looking for some uhh, simpl
