Jai checked himself in front of the mirror. He was wearing something like a hakama and a capri like pants, both dark blue in color.
A squeal came from behind him and Jai felt embarrassed all of a sudden. He turned around to let the others get a better look.
"You look so good in it, Jai!" The woman in apron said.
She was standing between an old man and a cute girl with amber hair. The old man chuckled while the girl smiled brightly.
"I didn't think Hans's clothes would fit you so well," The old man said, looking at Jai.
The woman laughed, "I'm younger than you by twenty years, Barun. My eyes are as sharp as ever."
"We didn't doubt you, Auntie. He looked so fresh in it," The amber girl said while smiling.
"Oh of course! The clothes I made are always fresh." The woman confidently said. "Would you be a dear and pack the change of clothes, Miria?"
Jai couldn't guess if he was just lucky, or the universe was being kind to him. He had been waiting for this moment since that day he awakened his lightning. But he wasn't interested in beating this guy because he wanted to test out his element control. Instead, he was getting revenge because this was the guy that pushed his benefactor's granddaughter to the ground.Yes. The man in front of him was the thug that had pushed Miria back at the market. Jai was still pissed. The bulky man in front of him tensed up, and with his index finger, he pointed at Jai."You!" The man yelled harshly.Jai raised his eyebrow, “Oh? You remember me?”The man flinched at how calm the young man answered him. That attitude pissed him more above the fear and panic he was already feeling.“How can I forget?! You gave this to me!” The bearded man yelled, pointing to his own face. There was
Jai left the stage as per the committee's instructions, leaving assortment of cheers in his wake. Bartos, his opponent, had been rendered unconscious and was already wheeled out from the arena.Jai didn't know where the guards were taking him, but he didn't care. He won that round. But he didn't feel satisfied at all. He was hoping that guy would realize his mistake, but apparently, in the end, the guy did not.'Thankfully I didn't give him a fatal blow. If I meet him again, I'll make sure he apologize properly.' Jai noted that mentally. The little spark inside him twitched after he said that, as if agreeing. Then Jai received a pat on the shoulder."That, was, amazing, Jai," Darrion said."Thanks, I guess..." Jai shrugged his shoulders, and then he said, "I don't feel like winning, though."Darrion was suddenly very curious about what his friend talked about on the
Author’s note:Previously, we ever mentioned that Jai is a brunette. But Jai’s hair is actually black, and we will start mentioning him as such. We are sorry for the inconveniencies.-So... Lightning is purple... In this world.Jai sighed and hung his head, ‘I’m an idiot... I almost forgot I’m not there anymore. Things are different and I need to get it together.’Jai had a talk with Darrion after the encounter with the red haired guy. It was until then that he found out about the different color of lightning. However, with him not knowing about that surely made Darrion curious about him. Although the blonde had not shown it yet, Jai was sure he had some questions swimming in his head. It was fine by Jai, he had the time to think of the possible answers to some questions.Near the fountain, there was a seating box readied for the participants. The box was a few feet away from the au
There were two men on the arena. One was rather chubby with light tan skin, long black hair pulled into a braid, and a blue vest hugging his breast. The other one was skinnier and more tanned than him, wearing a long black robe, ash brown hair, and cunning expression on his face. The two men were exchanging blows of fire. Literally, they punched each other with fire swirling around their fists and their kicks. They had been at it for almost half an hour now, and the two of them had begun showing their tireness. The skinny guy slipped a momentum in his right fist, and the fatter guy used that to send a kick to his left side. The skinny guy was thrown to the side by a few feet.As the skinny guy struggled to get up, he raised his hand and said, "I surrender!"The fat guy sighed and did not pursue. Two people from the committee came in to check the two of them. This was different from Jai's battle because
The competition for that day was done and the committee gave the participants one day to recuperate. Some participants who passed to the next round-battle were unable to continue for the day, due to some of them being passed out and badly hurt.Jai wondered how worse did it get in the South stage, because in the North stage, the fights were not very critical. He could count Haku and two more people that got quite rattled, but the rest of them were only with minimum injuries."I kind of disagree with the one day rest... It felt too slacking off," Jai muttered as they leave the square with Barun. It was afternoon. The sun was still high in the sky, but it's not right at the top. It was probably around 2 o'clock in the afternoon.Darrion hummed, "I could guess that must be the princess' doing."Jai frowned and thought, 'They have a princess here too? Well of course, it's a kingdom. Why am I
"Barun!" Jai shouted as he turned around to check on Barun. But he was surprised to find a tall and rather muscular guy instead. The guy swept some bricks to the side while Barun was standing right behind him. The old man had this shock look on his face, but he looked fine. The flying bricks came to a stop when the new guy showed up. Then the thug shouted, "hey! Who the hell are you?!"The big guy glanced at them briefly, but eventually ignored them and turned around. He patted Barun's shoulder and gave a polite smile, "Sir, let me help you to the other side. This place is dangerous."Barun nodded at him and he gave Jai a nod before the guy led him to a shop across the street. The thugs were speechless because they were ignored. One of them reflexively shouted "Hey!", but was also ignored.Jai waited until Barun was safe on the other side of the street before he turned to face the fr
"What's an earthmate?" Jai looked confused. At the question, Galum smiled. "It means 'friends of the earth'.""Is that how you earth elemers call yourselves?" Jai asked.Galum shook his head. "No, it's not. People of the earthdom have no saying for elemers. We treat each other equally."Jai hummed. "So people from the earth kingdom are all earthmates?"Galum nodded."Please don't get offended by his questions. He lived in a cave and just come out," Darrion said after sipping empty his drink. He was afraid this new guy would think Jai was insulting.Galum's eyebrows rose and he looked at Jai, "really?"Jai had this slightly irritated look on his face, "no, I did not. Darrion!"Barun chuckled, "Jai had an unfortunate accident and lost his memory."Galum 'ooh'-ed, and then he smiled, "but you did great in the
“My parents are sick. I want to get the prize to buy medicine for them.”Jai raised his eyebrows, surprised at how bold Galum shared his story.“I'm sorry, child. What are they inflicted with?” Barun asked in concern.Galum frowned. He blinked a few times and pursed his lips. “The lady doctor said they have Apias disease..”Darrion perked up, “Apias disease?”Galum lit up as well, “you know about it?”Darrion’s mouth twisted, “isn’t it the disease from a kind of insect?”Galum nodded, “the lady doctor said the same thing. She also said that only Aeronvein would have the cure for it. So I came here, looking for one.”Jai noticed the big guy looked down again, his eyes frowned in sadness, “I am worried about them... So I have to win this competition.”As Jai listened to Galum, he felt connected to him somehow. Jai’s mother was als
