Kieran's POV

I boiled with anger. Sienna was gone and my men had let her slip so easily.

They were sloppier and stupid than I expected.

I clenched my fists at my sides, wanting to hit something but I kept my calm.

My men lowered their heads and I looked around in anger. They shifted slightly anytime I got closer to any of them.

"Is this how you intend to protect the pack?" I asked.

They remained quiet and Darius stepped forward. "She couldn't have gone far, alpha," he said. "I have sent some men to the border."

"If she isn't found before the sun goes down, then you'll have to suffer. Do I make myself clear?" My voice thundered and they nodded.

"Yes, alpha," they answered.

"Find her, now!" I ordered and they dispersed.

Darius looked at the men and back to me. "Aren't you taking it out on them a little too much? She's just one wolf."

I let my eyes for the talking and he swallowed.

I kept quiet, not wanting to lash out and walked out of the packhouse. The men followed behind me a

Kieran's POVDarius and I stood at the huge castle gate and I rang the bell. It was ancient just like the castle. The door opened inwardly and echoed as it cracked the stone on the floor. We instinctively exchanged a glance and once the door touched the wall, we stepped in. The passageway was decorated in a modern style and I was pleased with that. I wasn't about to cry a flame torch around. The air smelt old with incense and a tall, slender pale man came to us. "Welcome, Alpha Kieran," he greeted. "And to you, Darius.""Please, this way. Lord Caius is waiting," the man said, gesturing for us to follow him.We followed silently and walked on the polished stone floor. The corridor led us to a large meeting hall with vintage chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. There he was seated at the far end of the hall, on a black marble chair. "Caius," I said and the pale messenger bowed and left. He looked just as dead as everyone in this castle. "Kieran Draven Wolfe," Caius said, smiling

Sienna's POV They froze at the sound of my voice, mid strike. They looked wild with their fangs and claws out."I said, stop it!" I repeated in a firm voice. Darius struggled on the floor, moving slightly and tried to crawl. They turned to me, at the same time, their hands falling gently to their side. I could see they were still tense. Kieran's green eyes softer as he saw me and he slowly returned to his human form. Caius did the same, his fangs and claws retreating. "What were you two going to do? Kill yourselves?" I asked, walking fast down the stairs. The fresh scratch on kieran's cheeks healed before I reached down and he wiped the blood off his face. Caius, glowing eyes returned to its usual red eyes and his torn lips healed. Kieran stepped forward, and I moved back. He stopped, stretching his hands out. "Sienna, come with me."His voice was calm, pleading and softer than the last time he spoke to me. "I can't," I answered and caught Caius smiling. I was mad with myself

Kieran's POV:Three of Crant's men lunged at me, but I didn't hesitate. I barely moved a muscle sticking them down with my claws drawing blood. The men fell to the floor unconscious and I wiped my hand off the blood. "You were saying?" I asked. Crant watched, unimpressed and with a wave of his hand, all his men attacked at the same time. I threw them off easily. Darius fought, and Caius stayed protecting Sienna from any of their attacks. "Stop!" Crant yelled, and his men halted. Half of them had fallen to the floor unconscious if not dead. He took off his coat, tossing it aside to the floor and settled into a fighting position as he cracked his knuckles.Darius bared his teeth, ready to pounce, but I shot him a warning look. "Don't."Darius frowned, and halted. "What…?"I looked at Crant, raising my index finger and moving it slightly before bringing it down. "He's got the smell of wolfsbane on him.""You have sharp senses, Kieran. I expected no less," Crant said. Damn him! He

Sienna's POVWhen I woke up, I gasped and tried to sit up, but my head hurt. The last thing I remembered was masked guys bursting into my room, one of them grabbing me before I could scream. Every part of my body hurt."Stay down," said a soft voice. Darius stood by the door, his face unreadable. "Kieran will be back soon.""What happened?" My throat was dry, so I croaked. "The men in masks—" "Gone. "Kieran chased them away, but not before they..." His eyes darted to my arm.I stopped moving when I met his eyes. There was a thin red line around my wrist that looked like a band. The skin around it was red and angry."What did they do to me?" I whispered, fear rising in my chest.Darius shook his head. "I don't know. Kieran told everyone to search the grounds."As soon as he left, I swung my legs over the bed. Something felt wrong—hollow. I closed my eyes, searching for that familiar fire inside me, the power that had always hummed beneath my skin.Nothing.My ruby wolf was quiet.Fear

Darius's POVThe moon cast long shadows through the trees as I moved quietly through the forest. My heart hammered in my chest, but my face stayed calm. Years of practice had taught me how to hide my feelings, even from other wolves who could smell fear.I reached the clearing and waited, ears alert for any sign I'd been followed. No one in the pack suspected me—not even Kieran. Especially not Kieran.A twig snapped and I spun around, claws extended."Jumpy tonight, aren't we?" A figure appeared from the darkness, her face hidden beneath a hood."Isa," I answered with a curt nod. "The attack went exactly as planned."She pulled back her hood, showing sharp features and eyes that gleamed with dangerous magic. The Black Moon Witch smiled, but it never reached her eyes."And our Ruby Wolf?" she asked."The mark has activated," I confirmed. "Her powers are growing, just as the Queen predicted."Isa stepped closer, her fingers trailing over a nearby tree, leaving frost in their wake. "Kier

The Midnight Queen's POVI watched them all through my scrying pool—little pieces moving across my chessboard. The killer had found his memories. The Alpha offered defense. And Sienna, my beautiful Sienna, stood at the center of it all, unaware of the blood we shared. The water rippled, showing Ronan approaching the packhouse with his hands raised. Foolish boy. Love had made him weak."My Queen, we've lost contact with Nyx," Vex announced, entering my chamber. Blood stained his hands—someone had displeased him again.I waved dismissively. "Ronan killed him. It matters little."My inner haven lay deep beneath the mountains, far from prying eyes. Ancient symbols carved into black stone walls glowed with magic. A throne of polished obsidian commanded the room, wolf skulls decorating its high back."Summon the others," I ordered.Five hooded figures filtered in, making a half-circle before me. My closest circle—the only ones I almost trusted."Tomorrow night, we attack the Shadowfang Pack

The Vampire King hadn't left this castle in over a century, yet his reach stretched far beyond these walls."My son returns," he stated, silencing the court with a wave of his pale hand. "What news of the werewolves?"I knelt before the dais, a show of respect I didn't feel. "The Alpha suffers from his curse as the full moon approaches. His power weakens by the hour.""And the Ruby Wolf?" Father leaned forward, his ancient eyes gleaming with attention."Her powers grow," I replied carefully, giving only what served my purpose. Four more dummies lay in pieces around me, destroyed in under a minute."Impressive," Commander Vex said, his cold eyes showing nothing. "But not good enough."I wiped blood from my fingers. The other Syndicate troops watched from the shadows, their faces a mix of fear and envy. None of them could match what I could do."Again," Vex demanded, nodding to the guards. Two top fighters rushed me from opposite sides. I ducked under the first blow, my body moving faster than normal humans. My leg swept one attacker off his feet while my elbow connected with the second man's chin. Bone cracked. • The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster   Chapter 34: Blood Diplomacy

Caius's POVI arrived at the Shadowfang area with perfect timing. The moon was rising, chaos was brewing, and alliances were about to change. Just as I'd planned.Twenty of my best vampire warriors flanked me as we approached the main gates. I'd dressed for the event in formal Vampire Court attire - midnight blue robes with silver trim that marked me as royalty."Remember," I told my soldiers, "we're here under the diplomatic banner. No killing unless I command it."The wolves at the gate bared their teeth when they caught our smell. Vampires on werewolf land during a full moon? Unheard of. Yet they couldn't deny entry to a royal foreign envoy. Those were the old laws. "Prince Caius Blackthorne requests audience with Alpha Kieran," I announced, letting my voice carry the weight of centuries. The guards traded nervous glances. "The Alpha is... indisposed."I smiled, showing just a hint of fang. "Then I'll speak with whoever is in charge."Before they

Kieran's POVThe moon wasn't even visible yet, but I could already feel her pull in my blood.I paced the reinforced chamber like a caged animal, my skin burning with the need to change. To tear. To destroy. Each full moon was bad, but this one felt worse – like my blood had been replaced with liquid fire."Three hours until moonrise," I growled to myself, looking at the heavy silver-reinforced door.I'd locked myself in early tonight. The Midnight Queen was coming, and my pack needed their Alpha, not a dumb beast. But the rage was rising faster than normal, clawing at my insides with razor-sharp talons.Sweat soaked through my shirt as I fought the change. My bones cracked and reset themselves, wanting to shift but meeting my stubborn reluctance. I wouldn't give in. Not yet.The protective runes carved into the walls glowed faintly blue, intended to contain werewolf magic. But as another wave of pain crashed through me, one of the runes flickered and we

Darius's POVMy phone buzzed with a message that made my stomach twist into knots.Tonight. Kill the Alpha before the Queen comes. No excuses.I deleted it quickly, looking around the packhouse hallway to make sure no one had seen. After ten years of spying for the Midnight Syndicate, I should have felt nothing. Just another job.But my hands shook as I shoved the phone into my pocket.Kill Kieran Draven Wolfe. The Alpha who trusted me. Who made me his Beta. The packhouse buzzed with activity, everyone planning for the coming attack after Sienna's warning. Warriors sharpened weapons while others strengthened walls with silver-resistant barriers. They all moved with purpose, united by loyalty.A devotion I had faked for a decade."Darius!" Maya, one of our youngest fighters, rushed up to me. "Alpha wants all defense chiefs in the war room. The spies spotted movement in the eastern woods."I nodded, forcing myself to look calm. They weren't just on my arms anymore—they covered my shoulders, crept up my neck, and traced tiny lines across my face."What's happening to me?" I whispered, touching the marks with shaky fingers. The moment my emotions spiked, flames erupted from my fingers, catching the curtains. Fire licked up the cloth with hungry tongues."No!" I shouted, fear making the flames grow higher. The door burst open. Kieran charged in, eyes wild with fear. Without pause, he yanked down the burning curtains and stomped out the flames. When the danger passed, he turned to me, his expression shifting from worry to awe as he took in my transformed appeara

The Midnight Queen's POVThe moon hung like a silver eye in the night sky, watching as I placed twelve crystal vials in a perfect circle. Each held the fresh blood of a werewolf—Alpha blood, Beta blood, Omega blood. Power in every drop. But not Ruby Wolf blood. Not yet."Is everything prepared?" I asked, not turning to look at the masked figures standing quietly behind me."Yes, my Queen," Isolde, my Black Moon Witch, answered. "The stars are aligned. The boundary between places thins."I smiled, feeling the weight of ages in the curve of my lips. How long had I waited for this moment? How many failures and false starts? The chamber deep beneath the Syndicate offices hummed with ancient energy. Black candles cast dancing shadows on walls covered in patterns older than human language. At the middle stood an archway made of stone that seemed to drink in light rather than reflect it—the Echo Gate, a small replica of the Celestial Gate I sought to open.I removed my hood, letting my white

This was no drug factory—it was a Syndicate lab. The place where they might have made me into... whatever I am.My boots splashed through water as I approached the fence. The tip I'd gotten from the dying Syndicate agent better be worth the price I paid. Three days tracking through mud and memories I couldn't trust."Records in the basement," he'd gasped before the light left his eyes. "About the twins. About you."I cut through the fence with my claws—another "gift" from the Syndicate's trials. Normal dogs couldn't do this. Normal wolves couldn't smell a guard half a mile away either, but I already knew two were inside, probably bored and not expecting company. The lock on the back door was no match for me. Inside, the air smelled like dust and old chemicals. My night vision picked up details in the darkness—broken furniture, smashed c

Caius's POVThe small vial of red liquid glowed in the flickering candlelight. I held it up, watching how the blood—Sienna's blood—seemed to pulse with life even outside her body."Perfect," I whispered. My rooms in the Vampire Court were sealed. Three black candles made a triangle on my marble floor. Ancient designs drawn in ash circled them. No one could know what I was about to do—blood magic was forbidden even among vampires.I knelt in the middle of the circle and uncorked the vial. The scent hit me instantly—sweet, powerful, and definitely Ruby Wolf. My fangs extended automatically. This single drop had cost me a lot. The spy in Kieran's pack had risked everything to take it from the medical bay after Sienna's injury. Worth every gold coin.I tipped the vial, letting a single drop fall onto the center sign."Visus sanguinis, oculi lupus," I whispered, slicing my palm with a silver dagger. My blood mixed with hers. It shouldn't be happening yet—the full moon was still days away. But ever since I'd found that scrap of fabric with Sienna's smell near the security breach, my control had been slipping. The guards secured Ronan Voss to the heavy chair bolted to the floor. The famed phantom wolf. Former Syndicate killer. And, if my instincts were right, a man who wanted my possible mate."Leave us," I ordered. The guards paused. Sienna's POV The blinding light took me totally. One second I was on the battlefield with Ronan trying to calm me, Kieran struggling for his life without his wolf, and my mother—the Midnight Queen—floating above us all. The next second, I was... somewhere else. The illumination faded, and I found myself standing in an unfamiliar environment. It wasn't quite a room. There were no walls, no ceiling, only infinite red mist that whirled around me like living fire. "Hello?" I called out. My voice echoed strangely, like if I was in a cave and an open field at the same time. The blood anger that had been raging through my veins was calm now. I could think clearly again. "Welcome, child of my line." I spun around. A woman stood behind me. She looked a lot like me—dark hair, sturdy build—but her eyes shone ruby red, brighter than mine ever had. She wore plain clothes that felt both ancient and timeless. "Who are you?" I asked, though somehow I already knew. "I am Elara, the First Ruby
