Xavier Pov

"Do you want to go on a date with me?" Amelia asked me.

I choked on my coke. From the corner of my eye, I saw Cole pointing out three fingers. He was indicating that Amelia was the third girl to ask me out this week.

I was eating my lunch with Cole, my beta when Amelia came to join us at our table. With a small face, shoulder-length hair and a curvy body, she looked gorgeous. Every boy of our high school wanted to date her including me.

"Umm...Xavier" She said again leaning forward. I slightly leaned backwards because her face was too close to me. Cole nudged me and I realized, I still hadn't answered her.

"No, I don't date."

"Or more likely you can't date." Cole mind linked me. I sent a nasty glare at him.

A mixed expression of shock and anger crossed her face. She definitely wasn't expecting to be rejected.

She slowly leaned more and whispered in my ears seductively "How about spending some quality time together" then she winked at me making me roll my eyes. Cole coughed beside me. Surely, he heard everything because of his super hearing.

"Amelia, leave me alone" I stated nonchalantly, my voice came out harsher than I intended it to be.

Don't get me wrong! I was very tempted to accept her offer but I didn't because of a number of reasons. First, it would be a shame to lose my virginity to a bitch. Second, I was saving myself for the women I would fall in love with and the third reason, I was...

"Engaged" Cole's voice interrupted me, "Xavier is engaged. Look at his engagement ring" He said grabbing my hand and flashing my engagement ring to everyone. I was annoyed and angry. Amelia and all her follower/ friends, who were standing beside her, were surprised. They were staring intently at me. Feeling annoyed, I abruptly stood up and exited the cafeteria.

Green High was the closest school to our pack. So all werewolf of Royal moon pack went to green high for education. It was certainly risky to attend the same school as humans. However, most unmated wolves found their chosen mate from here in school. Thus, it was worth it to take the risk.

I stopped walking when I heard footsteps behind me. When I turned, I saw my beta, Cole and Coden, my gamma, were standing there. They were also my best friends.

"You are engaged, Congratulation." Coden spoke, amusement was dancing in his eyes.

"Stop, I am not engaged," I shouted but that was a lie. Yesterday my father just barged into my room and forced me to wear this ring. Then he informed me I was engaged. After that, I had a long argument with my father. Needless to say, I didn't win the argument.

I hadn't met or talked with her. I didn't know how she looks like. Heck! I didn't even know her name. It wouldn't be wrong to say I was engaged to a stranger.

"So, why are you wearing an engagement ring?" Coden asked looking perplexed. I ignored him because I didn't have an answer to his question. I looked at my fingers- a simple golden ring without any stone. It also had a wolf engraved in it.

"His father made him wear that. He is officially engaged with 'the girl.'" Cole said while air quoting the girl part. I was getting very annoyed.

"The same girl he was spoken for," Coden said mimicking Cole. They were talking about me like I wasn't here. My father had fixed my marriage with his friend's daughter when I was only 6 months old. The girl, whose name I didn't even know, was only 2 months old at that time. Sick!

"Who is your fiancée, Alpha," Coden asked me. He knew very well that I didn't know my fiancée yet he was teasing me. I was the future Alpha, so I didn't like anyone disrespecting me. I groaned in a warning. He shivered in fear and apologized quickly. The bell rang and I went to my class.

...............................................................................................

I was sitting on the last bench. Cole was sitting at my left while the right sit was vacant. English was my favourite class because Sara, my crush, was in this class too. It started one year ago when I saw her for the first time at the school gate. She was talking with her friend, Amelia. Even though, Amelia is her friend she was nothing like that bitch.

Sara was gorgeous and her laughter was the most attractive thing about her. I wanted to date her and make her my Luna but sadly I couldn't. We were only friends though and only talked about random things. She did flirt with me often but I mostly ignored her. I certainly didn't want to give her false hope. Suddenly her scent hit me as Sara came and sat beside me.

"Hi Xavier, Hi Cole," She said.

"Hi Sara, did you completed English essay?" I asked.

"Yes, did you completed your essay?" She asked me.

"No, I forgot to do it," I replied looking at her eyes. Her eyes were beautiful but it always looked lifeless to me.

"I knew you would forget so I did extra for you too. Here take it" She gave me a notebook. I smiled at her sweet gesture. I extended my left hand to take the notebook that's when I heard her gasp. I looked at her. She had her gaze fixed at my...ring. Oh no!

"I heard you are engaged but I thought it was only a rumour. I guess it's true." Her voice was low indicating she was hurt. I only nodded in reply to avoid awkwardness. We didn't talk anymore in the entire class. As soon as the bell rang, I ran outside the school, straight toward the forest that surrounded our school. I was sad and frustrated. My head was aching from all the stress. She liked me and I liked her too but I couldn't peruse her. On top of that, I was engaged to a stranger.

Exciting start to the story, I feel sad for Luna’s parents for the pressure they must be under with Luna being the only she-wolf & for her having to hide & not live a normal life. I hope Xavier doesn’t end up hurting Luna by doing something stupid because he wants Sara! Fantastic chapter

I was only 11 years old at that time when my mother made me promise that I'll remain faithful to 'the girl'- my fiancée. Even though I didn't know her, I still remained faithful

Xavier’s Pov“I am not your property and you can’t give me as a gift to some sick pervert. You have no right.” Luna cried. They say emotions make us weak.I wondered if those statements were true as I watched my mate crying in front of me. The love and protectiveness I felt for her were at their peak. Her vulnerable state was making me weak. It was hard- almost impossible, to not pull her in my arm and tell her the truth. If I did so, and God knew I wanted to do so badly, then all my plan would turn into dust. Into nothingness. But I say emotions make us human.Without it, we would be only an animal. A feral animal that understood nothing but instinct. And I was neither animal nor human. I was a mixture of both. A Lycan. We, Lycan, were a mythical creature. Magic ran through our vein. A single body was home to two souls, one beast and another human. Beast was controll

He growled. Then the earth shook violently and the wind blew from a different direction at the same place in a twisting motion. Thunder echoed in the distance and lightning flashed which was soon followed by a heavy storm. Nature was restless and chaotic as if….…as if something had disturbed the peace. As my gaze moved to Deus, an absurd thought crossed my mind. What if it wasn’t something but someone who has brought imbalance in nature?“Grrrrrrrrrrr” He let out another powerful growl successfully installing fear in enemies’ heart.Lancer hesitated for a second before he signalled his army to attack but no one made any move. They were scared, I could tell. When he shouted again reminding them I was the prize, only then did they strike.Deus protectively pushed my small frame behind his massive one. This infuriated or rather embarrassed me. I was their Queen. However, that didn’t stop me from hiding behind someone’s back, seeking protection from the war that was being fought over me.

Luna’s PovThe boys and girls were divided into two groups. We were about to play Lok Dohori. It was traditional folk music in which men and women flirt with each other by singing song. The fun part was that lyrics were instantly created by the lead singer on the spot. Not to mention they are always funny. And it continues till at least one side surrenders or runs out of the witty reply. It was my first time. In 17 year of my life, I had never taken part in any of mass fun activity. Honestly, I thought I would never see this day. A day where I didn’t have to be invisible. A day in which I could be free- I could be me. As a child, I would often try to run from home because home, at that time, felt like a prison to me. My innocent mind couldn’t understand why I had to be locked inside four walls. Those were dark times. But darkness is always followed by light. I looked at Xavier only to find his attention fixed on me. A genuine smile appeared on my lips. And just like that, his presence

It’s been days since their disappearance and still, we hadn’t been able to find a single clue about them. I prayed for their wellbeing.“Either Killian must have killed them or held them captive,” Cole stated. A sudden fear engulfed me. I desperately hoped for the latter case. They all fought for Luna’s protection so I was indebted to their kindness and sacrifice. If anything happened to them, it would kill me. Also, she would blame herself.I needed Coden, my gamma. Liam’s pack needed their alpha and Luna needed her father. I had done everything I could to find them but so far, I’d failed miserable. I gently took his hand in mind with an intension to provide him comfort. I would have hugged him but I wanted to see his face since I was seeing his handsome face after so long. And also because I wanted to peek into his soul through his eyes.“What happened?”“Nothing” was his instant reply. The fact that he answered too quick meant one thing. He was lying. Also, I was feeling his sadness through the mate bond so I knew something was bothering him. This time I hugged him and we stayed like that for a few minutes. Now that he had marked me, I could feel everything he felt, which was a little strange. For a fact I knew, this wasn’t possible.Well, my mom once told me that in ancient times when werewolf marked true mate, they could feel the emotions of their mate through the bond. It served as the mirror for me to see her soul, her true self. From the day we met, I had seen fear, anger, and disappointment and even detest for me in her eyes. I had also seen her eyes communicating her vulnerability and her respect for me which I gain by supporting her in those vulnerable state. But never once had I seen her eyes twinkle with admiration for me. However, it changed today. There she was staring at me with deep affection and my heart fluttered because of it. Luna’s Pov“Wow. Finally, I can see you dressed as a girl,” Killian said as he eyed me and licked his lips. I felt disgusted from his stare. “You promised to be my wife but you already married Xavier. You betrayed me but no worries. I have come to punish you.” He said mockingly.Cole growled at him angrily, warning him to shut up. He was ready to shift any second. “Killian. You smell like a rogue.” Cole said while scrunching his nose. Oh, so Killian became a rogue now. But how did he found our house? This place was surrounded by the cloud so it was sort of invisible to outsiders.“I live with them,” Killian said as hundred more rogues came and stood behind Killian. Rogue were lone wolves who either were kicked out of their pack or just ran out of the pack on their own. Some were violent while others were peaceful. But something told me, these rogue were neither violent nor peaceful. They were just feral, driven by a common cause. I just hoped that cause wasn’t me. “I’ve been following

Xavier’s PovI was stuck in a time frame that was the only reflection of my past yet it was inflicting an enormous amount of pain in me. The scene in front of me was only a story of the past. However, it was a real story of my past that had a tragic ending. Maybe that’s why it was crushing my heart so much to watch it countless times. Like a broken film reel, it kept on being replayed but never once did it pause. And I didn’t think it has any stop button.“It all happened in past. Luna is safe in the present world.” Deus was trying to comfort me. But little did he know I could feel his pain too. I knew he was shattered too. He was ashamed that he couldn’t protect her in the past. It was my fault too. Even if he had control of the body that day, I should have helped him to save her.Once again she died in front of me, protecting me and I was only being a spectator of it.
