'What I found most strange was the fact that uncle Wayne asked us if he could come in', when we got to the door', Landon said, her eyes narrowed, thoughtfully. 'It was as though he wanted us to invite him in' 'How's that odd?' Alexa asked. 'He brought us from school and opened the door and when he allowed us in before him, he stood at the door, waiting for us to invite him in!' It made no sense! He knows he is always welcomed. 'Maybe he didn't want to take your hospitality for granted, he was just being polite!' Alexa suggested, not seeing the great deal in it. 'I doubt that!' Landon said. 'Then why didn't you ask him his reasons?'' his mother asked. 'I did but he just smiled but said nothing and by the time he started playing games with us, I forgot about it. I just recalled it now!' 'Landon, forget about that. I see nothing strange about it. I told you so, yesterday!' Leigh said, brushing off her brother's anxiety. They were still speaking when they heard a knock at the door
Myles looked the man standing at the door from head to toe and asked with irritation, 'And who are you?' How dare this man interrupt him when he was sure he was already making headway with Alexa. 'I am the father of Landon and Leigh!' the man said. Myles stared at Alexa questioningly. Didn't she just say she didn't know who the father of her pups was? Alexa shrugged, looking at the man. 'Wayne, you are here!' she said lamely. 'Yes, I was shocked that you went to work instead of having your rest at home. The accident was not a joke and you know all we had to do to revive you!' 'That is true', Myles said looking from the man called Wayne to Alexa. 'I know you should have recuperated, I used my blood to revive you!' Wayne looked at this silver haired man. 'You must be joking. 'I was the one who cured her with my blood!' 'How can you do that when you are not her mate?' Myles asked, his irritation at the man's lies rising. 'But I am her mate and apart from that, we vampires can hea
How time flies! It was the long awaited weekend and as Alexa waited for Hector to bring Lionel, she felt both apprehension and excitement grow in her. She was bubbling with excitement that Lionel was going to be staying the whole day and next with them but apprehensive that Hector would find out about Landon and Leigh. Her thoughts were interrupted as she felt her heart jump when she heard the car pull up in the premises. She looked out the window and sure enough, it was Hector and Lionel. 'Mum, you have been so excited, is it just because Lionel is coming to spend the weekend with us?' Lionel asked. She wanted to tell them Lionel was their biological brother and not just their best friend but the time was not right yet. 'You even went shopping and bought more food items than you have ever bought before!' Leigh said, giggling. 'Not that I am complaining!' 'I bought more because we are having guests and I want him to feel comfortable. His father is rich and gives him the best. I d
The children took Lionel to their room to entertain him with snakes and drinks, they wanted their parents to be alone and discuss about their future. 'Lionel, it's your turn to eavesdrop on them', Landon who had already taken his turn said. They were taking turns to eavesdrop to know how the conversation about their future was going. 'They seem to be speaking generally. No talk about marriage and living together!' Lionel reported, disappointed. His disappointment was mirrored in the faces of his siblings. 'Leigh, go and listen in on them, they may say something now about us. How can they not? We are the reason they are here, in this house together, today!' Landon said broodingly. After listening for sometime while Landon and Lionel engaged each other in a computer game, Leigh whispered their names and when they looked at her, she gestured to them to come listen. Both boys left their game and scurried to the door to listen. 'I wonder what the problem is with these children!' the L
The children had lots of fun. Alexa did not bother going to work that Saturday. She took them to different places of amusement and recreation. She enjoyed herself in the roller coaster and slides in the amusement park. When she was tired, she stood by and watched her pups play. They had really accepted one another as siblings and she was glad. Next, they went to the park, fed some grains to the ducks in the pond and the children played while Alexa sat and thought how wonderful it would be if she could just get away with them right now but she had not yet finalized her plans. She was not going to rush this. I have to get it right, she thought. 'Mum, when can we see Dr. Arnold?' Landon asked. The way he had been behaving recently, if Alexa hadn't known better, she would think he was the eldest. 'Dr. Arnold?' she echoed. 'Whatever for? 'There are something's that I need to discuss with him, about... er.. my health!' he said. 'Yes, he has been vomiting since last night!' Lionel s
Camellia had had no peace since she saw Alexa at the restaurant with Hector and Lionel. She had also planned on dealing with her but the opportunity seemed to be evasive. After she left the restaurant, she had typed in a number in her phone. 'Hello, darling!' a voice said as soon as he picked the call. 'Richmond?' she said. 'are you at home?' 'I am baby, are you missing me?' he asked. 'I am on my way there right now!' she replied, ignoring his question. Camellia was hurting and furious and the only way to calm herself was sex and who better to give her wild sex that would ensure her escape even if temporarily, from this dilemma she was facing; one was Charlotte's threat and unpredictable temperament and the other was Alexa's consistent interference in her life, but Richard's wanton mating was sure to ease her mind and grant her the pleasurable escape she desired. She was on the doorstep, looking round to ensure she was not followed and no one could recognize her in her hood and
Dr. Arnold visited that evening like he had promised and started checking Landon's vitals. 'Dr. Arnold, could you ask everyone to exit the room, please?' Landon whispered to him as he bent over him to check his heartbeat with his stethoscope. 'Please, I need to ask, Landon some personal questions', Dr. Arnold said, looking round the room at the faces looking at him expectantly. He his his curiosity well. Why did the young boy want to speak to him alone? 'Is that absolutely necessary?' Alexa asked, frowning in puzzlement. 'we are his family, are f there's anything the problem, then tell it to us all!' 'Mummy', Lionel said, looking sad, 'Let us respect the doctor's wishes. It won't take a moment and then Landon can tell us what they spoke about later if the good doctor decides not to!' Alexa wanted to protest but Leigh drew her out of the room. 'Be fast!' Lionel said to Landon. 'I shall make sure she does not eavesdrop but I don't know how long I can keep her away. Whatever you ar
Monday morning, Alexa got up early and prepared the children for school. The weekend had been awesome irrespective of that one time, Dr. Arnold had to be called in to check on Landon. It left a bitter - sweet taste in her mouth. She was infinitely glad she had the chance to have all three of her children under the same roof but this morning, she felt sad that he was going back to the home he knew. Hector or his driver will definitely pick him up after school and they all will go back to living the way they had previously. The children too felt somewhat sad. They were going to see in school but it wasn't the same thing. They knew Lionel wouldn't be coming home with them after school that day. 'Mum, will Lionel really be going back with father today after school?' Leigh asked. 'He has to. He is here just for the weekend and the weekend is already over!' Alexa said, trying to force a cheerfulness she didn't feel into her voice. 'Can't we speak to Dad to let him stay on?' Landon asked
