Chapter 21: Saved ...Again

As Alexa left her father and started off towards home, she went through all that her father had said and felt her spirits lift. So her mother was not a bad person afterall, she had been in love and had left, not wanting to wreck the home of her lover nor endanger her daughter's life. Mother didn't abandoned me. She just didn't want me to be in danger. She must have known that her lover's wife would not treat me well but she had to choose between the lesser of two evils to keep me safe.
