Barlion Great...

"That looks kike a deep cut."

Uncle Jeremy commented as he took of the patch covering the wound.

"Staring the obvious..."

Chuckling a bit, he cleaned the herbs off before he, one again, made an exaggerated comment.

"Why not call a proper healer? You do realize I am not your servant." He said, as he dipped the cloth in his hand in to a warm water and continued on to clean the blood off.

"A healer os not needed." I repeated the words I said to my wife.

"I doubt it." Uncle Jeremy argued. "Your cut looks like it's been closed by a barbaric, handless healer who decided to sow it with their feet."

His little commented pulled my lips in to a small smile.

My wife had been the one to close the cut and yes, she had done a terrible job. But she did close it and managed to stop the blood so, I guess she did a good job.

"This will leave a nasty scar." Uncle Jeremy shook his head as he examined the wound.

" But, Lucky for you, Dear nephew. You won't die from a na

Looking around the council chambers, I tried not to show my emotions.I painted a steel for my expression, not letting a single thing get past my face.I didn't want to let them know how much I hated most of them.Trying to keep my eyes from glaring daggers at some of the council men.Other than My uncle Jeremy, every single one of them have rejected my claim to the throne.Uncle Hero, who is the third brother to my father, had always followed the King's words. If my father says jump, then Uncle Hero would say how long. If my father says I will not get the crown, then Uncle Hero would make sure that I don't get the crown.Even though Uncle Hero is in charge of Civilian Relations and is a well known and respected royal amongst the people, he still lacks a backbone when it comes to my father.Uncle Jeremy had told me that Uncle Hero used to be an up eight man who followed his beliefs. But after his wife died giving birth to his son Jeremaya, he became a shell of a man, always letting f

Frost Sorrow....Mindlessly walking through the long halls, my mind kept going to the conversation I had with Prince Victor. The story he told me had really disturbed me. I wish it hadn't, but it did.The statue of the woman had been beautiful, I had thought so the first time I saw her. And I had also noticed how Prince Barlion looked at her as well. There was warmth in there, and he was staring off at her as if he was talking to her. If what the younger Prince said was true and that woman was truly Prince Barlion's lover, then I stood no chance from the beginning. An ill girl who is not even brave enough to stand up for herself and show her face is nothing compare to the beauty that stood in the beautiful fountain.Maybe that was the reason why he hated me so much. Maybe something bad had happened to her and now, I took her place by his side.Maybe the kiss he had planted on my forehead the previous night was meant for her and not for me.It wouldn't be a surprise if he tho

Flipping the pages of the large book, I looked through each detail I could find. All though the first book Prince Victor had shown me was larger with more pages, the one he just showed me now seemed to have a few raw facts about the land beyond the five Kingdoms. One of the very first facts I found was the scariest thing I could ever find. It seems many have tried to travel beyond the five Kingdoms but too little have survived. And the survivors said that the waves of the sea had been the biggest monster of them all.It was uncertain why the sea would be so strong even at the hight of a sunny summer but one thing is for sure, if you ever think to travel beyond the five Kingdoms, then you must prepare for the waves. They said that the waves could ride up and swallow an entire castle from top to bottom. The strength and the force of each hit can't be resisted. If a normal vessel ever floats to the sea, the it was said to never be found. Those kind of travels need to be made by the stron

Barlion Great....Looking across from my desk, I saw the pure reaction my wife was having to the news. Her captivating, bright, frost blue eyes widen. Her shoulders tensed and she leaned a bit closer to the table."My parents sent me a letter?" She asked and I could hear the excitement in her small voice. The thick close covering half of her face would usually muffle her soft voice to the point that it made it hard to hear her. But this time around, her voice was a bit higher, pushing past the cloth."Yes." I answered simply with a nod. "They did."Picking the letter up from my desk, I handed it to her.Seeing her hands shake while she reached out to accept boggled me. How can one get this excited to hear from one's parents? It hadn't been that long since they last saw each other. Surely it is impossible to miss a person this soon.Frost looked dow at the paper and then back at me."You opened it?" She asked.Of course I had opened it. I tried to talk myself out of opening a l

Frost sorrow....There is always a time in a person's life when they will have to question their situations. How they got to a certain point, why they got to a certain point and when they got to a certain point.I tired to think back and retake my steps through my mind, just to find out how I managed to get stuck with the female royals of the main castle.I had enjoyed my supper with Mirra while I thought about the conversation I had with my husband the previous night.I'd shared with Mirra that father and mother had sent me a letter amd Mirra had been happy to hear that they are safe.Even though I shared my concerns with her about how vague the letter had been, Mirra, just like Prince Barlion, had told me that they probably had little time to write me the letter and that I shouldn't worry myself. The previous night had been weird for me.I was swimming in a pool of emotions, not knowing which one to embrace. I didn't know if I should be happy that they reach out, sad that the

Barlion Great..."He's setting you up for failure." Uncle Jeremy stated as he stared at the white Miner's clothes hanging in my study."I know." I replied, sitting back on my chair.Father has played me in front of the entire council. Uncle Hero had explained that those mysterious travelers travel only at night and they don't show themselves during the light. My father gave me from sun up to sun down and informed to to immediately go to the council chambers with my findings. He knows that sending me out in the day light won't get me a think about the night travelers. If he really had wanted me to find this people, he would have told me to leave when it's dark so I would be able to actually catch or follow this travelers."Why do you have a woman Miner's dress?" Uncle Jeremy asked, forcing my attention over to the similar clothes next to my white Miner's clothes, except it's for women."I am more than certain that no one will recognize you if you just go as a Miner. Frost Sorrow....Taking a deep breath, I played with the large silver key handing around my neck.I had fun with Prince Victor the previous day and he had been nice enough to spend the morning showing me around some parts of the castle. The little crossbow shooting lesson he had given me was fun as well, except for the first shot I took to the wall behind the targets. To be fair, all the younger Prince told me to do was to look at my target before I took the trigger. I had done just that, yet the arrow flew past the targets and hit the wall.I don't know what the Prince planned to do about the arrow in the wall but he said he would take care of it.The second shot had been bulls eye because he had helped me set my aim. His grip had supported the heavy crossbow, making it easier for me to look for a target. After that bull's eye, Prince Victor had asked me if I wanted to take another shot but I had declined.Pulling the trigger twice had been enough excitement for the day.So,

Barlion Great....Looking up at the statue of the woman, I let out a heavy sigh. It's almost sunrise and she still hasn't come to the garden.Maybe it's a good thing that she changed her mind about coming. It might not be safe for either of us.So, why do I feel disappointed that she didn't show up."It's time for you to go, Barlion." Uncle Jeremy said as he placed his left hand on my right shoulder. "Don't forget to be alert and don't let your guard down. I'll have someone out there for you but my reach might be limited. I don't want Viper to know you have protection."Nodding my head, I kept my eyes on the woman standing in the middle of the fountain for a few more seconds, wishing that she'd see me off and expect me to be back here tonight, hopefully safe.Walking around the fountain, I stepped over to the back entrance of the castle when I heard her voice."I'm here." Frost Sorrow... ***One year later***Bar sighed for the fifth time tonight. He laid under the covers on his side with my back pressed to his bare chest, his right hand fingers brushing against my large belly.I couldn't see him but I could tell that he was wide awake. But even if he was awake, I could tell that he wasn't here with me. He was somewhere in his mind.Because if he was here, he would have noticed that the soft strokes of his fingers to my belly were forcing the baby to kick me harder.Placing my hand over his, I stopped the movement."Bar?" I called out but he didn't answer."Bar?""Hmm... Yeah?" He finally replied."Where did you go?" I asked."I didn't go anywhere. I'm right here." Letting put a groan, I pushed myself up to my elbow and dragged myself to a sitting position."Are you worried about tomorrow's wedding ceremony?" I asked.Barlion sat up next toe and pressed his back against the large head board."I'm not worried about the ceremony. I think." He replied w

Barlion Great...The sight of her made my heart stop. Those frost blue eyes clashed with mine and the air left my lungs. All I wanted to do was run up to her, take her in my arms, feel her... Is she real? She has to be, otherwise I will lose it once and for all. I took a small step in to the dining hall, my eyes still trained on her.The conversation in the dining hall had long stopped and I could feel eyes on me. But I didn't dare look back at any of them. If I did, I was too scared that she might disappear.I watched as Frost slowly stood up and walked over to me. Her steps had no hesitation in them, unlike mine. When Frost and I finally stood before each other, all I needed to do was reach out and touch her to know that she's really here.Frost didn't say anything at first. Her lips were slightly open and she looked like she wanted to say something.Taking a deep breath, I slowly raised my right hand up and cupped her cheek. She's really here. My Frost is really here.My

Frost Sorrow...My stomach was making a roll when our boat got closer to the dock of the Gold Land Kingdom. It's been two long years... Two horribly long years.I was nervous for many reasons but the biggest one was finally seeing him.My father had already sent forward for a small carriage to be rented so by the time we reached the dock, a small carriage was waiting for us.Father kept my hand in his the entire way to the dock. It felt like he knew of my nerves. Each squeeze he gave my hand gave me encouragement. When we arrived at the dock, a carriage waited for us.Stepping out of the boat, I loved the feel of the cold air blowing against my cheeks, my bare cheeks. The strands of my hair brushed against my face as the wind blew, reminding me that the last two horrible years were actually worth it.There were a few eyes on my father, Sir Hunder and myself as we hopped in to the rented carriage. As the driver slowly led his two horses through the Kingdom, my ey

I walked in to the large library o next morning. The gates towards the other entrance of the library was not open yet so it was empty and quite. I walked through the large shelves before I made it to the sitting area.Just as I thought, I found Victor sitting at one of the large tables, looking straight ahead at the displayed book in a glass."Thought I'd find you here." I commented, drawing Victor's eyes towards me before I walked over and sat next to him.Victor returned his eyes to the book.I stared ahead and pride filled me at the sight of the single book placed in the glass.Anyone who came could look at it, admire it but was not allowed to touch it as it was incomplete."The King's Faceless Wife." I read put the titled before a wide smile stretched my lips.About a year and a half ago, after Victor had gained full conscious and was able to move around his chambers, the large library was the first place he visited.Lady Waina, bless her resting soul, had suggested that she writ

Watching the first snow fall alone without Frost made me ache. She'd been excited about the first snow. I'd caught her a few times as she was looking out the window, expecting it to fall any moment before she'd gotten hurt. She didn't even get to see it before she left.I don't know how long we stood by the docks. I stared off across the water, wishing her a safe travel. When the people of our Kingdom started flooding the docks, Sir Hunder requested that we should leave. It took everything in me to turn my back to the water and walk back to the carriage.Sir Hunder and Mirra hopped in after Lady Winter did and we rode back to the main castle.Sir Hunder and Mirra were huddled at one side and the head of Nights refused to let her out of his arms. It wasn't like Mirra was complaining or anything. The two looked too cozy, reminding me that I wouldn't have that anymore.'She will return to you.' The chambers fell in silence.I watched as Lord King and Lady Winter shared a look.I looked over to Frost and realized that her eyes were following me with worry. Letting out a sigh, I looked back at Lord King."I want to talk to my wife alone first." I commented when I realized that I couldn't be selfish enough to keep her from going with them.Lord King didn't look like he was going to let me have a second with her but then he dropped his eyes to Frost and they softened."We'll need to stock up for the journey. It will take a while to get there so we need to take everything." Lord King commented as he looked back at me.I glanced at Sir Hunder and nodded my head. I had no other words. If They are really going to take my wife then they will have everything they need and more for the journey. Sir Hunder bowed his head before he walked out of the chambers. Lord King and Lady Winter followed after him. Mirra was the last to leave Frost and I alone in our chambers. As soon as the door

Barlion Great...I had my arm wrapped around Frost's waist as I looked down at the head stone of Uncle Jeremy grave.'Lord Jeremy Great. A Brother, An Uncle, A Friend and A True Protector.' That was what's written on the head stone.I read it over and over again. The head stone was made from a large green gem, one found only in our Kingdom. The green gem glows a different shade of color at the contrast of the son, each angel changing color. Our black smith had carved the words in perfect shape and hade covered each letter with black paint so it would be easier to read. The rest of the royals had left a whole ago and I could feel Frost leaning on me. She was tired but she didn't say anything just so I would spend more time with Uncle Jeremy.I let out a sigh before I turned to Frost.
