"So what?" I laughed, and Lua did, too. I said, "That's a good idea," which made her stop laughing and look at me to make sure I wasn't kidding.

"What?" She didn't know what to say. Before I told her, "I think I know the perfect way to test Lucian," I bit my lower lip in excitement.

"You do?" Her eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Yes," I said with a wicked smile, and then I told Lua about my plan.

After I told her what I'd decided, she told me, "You're mean."

"Am I?" I asked in a sneaky way. When Lucian and his equally annoying second in command came out of the woods, Lua opened her mouth to say something. The wolves had already set up their camp and lit a fire. They were now making dinner.

"What's the joke?" Lucian asked, his eyes burning with interest.

"Why? You both, "Lua shot back, and Lucian let out a very low growl.

"Anyway, we've decided to cross the river tomorrow," I said to stop him from talking any longer. I was so tired that I just wanted to be done with this already, eat dinn

I walked into the dark woods, and that annoying lycan followed me without shame. He didn't care that my whole tent had been torn down and I might not have a place to sleep for the rest of the trip, or that the whole camp was now awake and startled by our small moment. It would be very hard to tell them about this the next morning. I couldn't even start to think about what I was going to say. I thought I would say something like, "Don't worry about anything." The Lycan Emperor and I just had a small misunderstanding about a very small thing. We couldn't decide who was the ugliest, so we decided to settle the matter with a pointless fight that destroyed my tent and woke up the whole camp. I promise it has nothing to do with the fact that he barged into my tent and asked me how he could apply to sleep with me as if I were just another woman in his harem.Ugh!I didn't know I was very far into the woods until Lucian growled at me from behind to warn me. I stopped where I was right away.N

When I woke up the next morning, there was no sign of him in his own tent. Now, I was kind of shocked. He did what he said he was going to do for the first time. Well, Lucian was a man of his word, but he was such a pervert that I didn't think he would keep his word in this situation. I really thought I would wake up next to him. I was already cranky that morning because I hadn't slept well, and if he had been sleeping next to me, I'm sure I would have chopped him up as soon as I woke up. He was lucky that I couldn't find him anywhere, even outside the tent, because I was so angry. That day, I was in a bad mood, and my wolves knew it right away. They didn't say a word to me as I walked around the camp and looked at the work they had done so far. Even though everyone around me pretended to be busy, I could feel their eyes on my back. I could tell that they were interested in what happened last night, but I wasn't going to tell them much. I didn't have to explain myself to anyone. E

I stared at the Lycan for an answer, but he didn't give me one. I waited for a few more seconds, but he didn't say anything. Now my patience was being tried. Before I moved toward him, I let out a growl that made my chest shake. He was short, and I was taller than him by a lot. I stared him down and told him, "Tell me what happened there," Then there was another moment of silence. I could see that when he swallowed hard, his Adam's apple moved up and down. He finally started to talk, "We were fighting a giant Poisonleech when out of nowhere, a giant Cryptsnare appeared and ate one of our ships. On that ship was Amoux. After the ship, His Majesty jumped into that monster's mouth "It took my brain a whole minute to figure out what he just said. One of the monsters ate their whole ship, which Amoux was on, so Lucian wanted to follow his best friend into the monster's stomach. Talk now about your closest friends. Great! He just gave me more work to do! Why didn't I see that this would

Athena’s povAtti rowed the boat back to the other shore as I breathed fire. The boat of Lucian followed us. I could feel his eyes burning on my back and feel the fire inside of me. I was very angry.I couldn't believe I'd given in to the mate bond and acted like such a fool in front of him again.Ugh! Athena, why can't you just be heartless once? When I gave Atti a look, she kept quiet and rowed the boat faster. In the meantime, I could feel his gaze on me getting stronger and stronger. It could easily block out the afternoon sun and dry up the whole river. All of a sudden, there was a lot of tension in the air. Even the river monsters tried to stay away from me. On the shore, my jaw was set and my eyes were frozen. When we got there, I told my wolves to get ready to leave right away. Already a lot of time had been wasted, and I didn't want to waste any more. I wanted to leave right away and get going. As the last of the Lycans and all of my wolves finally moved deeper into the woods

"I like that!" Before she took a drink from her glass, Aphrodite laughed and hiccupped.Fowol hissed at Eros, "I told you not to give her any more." The second tried to act like he didn't know his mother might have had more than three glasses of wine."I think we should turn it up more," Aphrodite said with a hiccup. I'd like to see them get dirty. YougetwhatI'msaying?" She spoke. Her words were starting to run together, making it hard for people to understand what she was saying. Even so, the goddess didn't seem to care much because she drank the whole glass of wine and then held it up to Eros again.Fowol hissed at Eros, "Don't you fvcking dare!" and gave him a lethal look. She was holding on to her own glass of wine with a little too much force as she tried to stop a hiccup from coming out of her mouth. She was just as drunk as Aphrodite was.Eros didn't take her threat seriously, so he poured his mother another glass of wine before lifting the bottle to his lips and drinking almos

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 39

Athena’s POVI didn't look at him. I didn't say anything to him. I kept my eyes on what was in front of us. I was set on getting to the frozen valley as soon as possible. Only Lucian didn't seem to feel the same sense of urgency as I did.I didn't have to look at him to tell that he was slowly getting more nervous. His worry was in the air, and I could smell it. I could hear the storm inside of him blowing. We moved faster today because we had wasted so much time yesterday. We had to get to the place we chose today, or we'd be late, and I didn't like being late. I was sure that in this situation, we couldn't be late. When the first cold wind came from the direction we were going, it made me feel better. It turned out to be bad for Lucian. The temperature was starting to drop as it got darker. The plateau we had been walking on for a long time was now slowly going up.It was a sign that we were now on the land mass that joined the eastern valleys and the woods. This didn't make Lucian

Some things are better off not being known. It took a minute for his words to sink in. What could be so bad that no one knew about it?Even though he had just told me not to think about it too much, I couldn't stop myself from thinking about it even more. What does it mean? Was it something from his past or someone? Was it an old god that he pissed off who was hiding in the valleys? Was it one of his relatives? No matter what it was, I knew it wasn't a threat. It's not possible. After spending so much time with him, I've come to realize that the Drakonians hiding in the valleys didn't bother him at all. This was not what I expected. He seemed to be hiding something much darker and more dangerous from everyone, but now it was about to come out in front of everyone.I told Lucian again, "This isn't how it's going to work." "I need to know what's out there. I'm curious. I must know! So many of my warriors are going out there with me, and I don't want them to die for no reason." I was ver

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 41

I couldn't believe what I was seeing as I watched the lycan catch his breath and then brush the snow off his long hair and thick animal skin coat."Why did you want to see me?" Next, I asked him a question while narrowing my eyes at him. I still had my sword in my hand and was sitting up straight, so I could hit him if he tried to do something funny."I just wanted to check on you and make sure everything was okay. Where's the problem?" After he cleaned up the snow, he asked me to come back. His loose hair hung over his forehead while he tied a big bun out of his dreadlocks. I sat there and watched him do his small grooming routine. As he worked on his hair, my wolf was already noticing how his muscles moved. I thought I had seen him do that before.I wasn't going to just believe that. Why would the king of all chauvinists travel through the mountains in the dark during a snowstorm to see a she-wolf that he would never consider his equal? I knew that he had a strong reason for coming

Athena’s POVWhen Atti saw me coming toward our camp, she gave me a whistle. Her eyes went all over my body before she gave me a sly grin. I gave her a friendly glare in return. I had just changed back into a human, so I was completely naked and shivering in the cold. When I got closer to her, she said, "Oh, look who's back!" She took off her coat right away and gave it to me."Since I went missing, I need you to keep me up to date on everything. I need to catch up quickly, "I told her to do something, and she did it right away. While Atti got all the papers together, I sat down in one of the tents and ate hot soup and breakfast. After I finished eating, the two of us sat down to talk about everything that happened while I was gone. While I was gone, nothing very interesting happened. All they did was get ready for a possible war and figure out how to stay alive in this bad weather.Atti said, "I think we should go back. Our work here is, more or less, done."I told her, "Not yet.""W

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 59

Lucian’s POVAs she walked out of the camp and swayed her hips from side to side, my eyes burned on her back. I didn't know if this was just how she walked or if she did it on purpose. Maybe it was that stupid dress, which fit her like a second skin and didn't leave much room for my imagination. Whenever I saw her in that thing, it made my hands itch and my inner lycan stir.I kept an eye on her until she left the camp. As soon as I couldn't see her anymore, I went to the Drakkon camp. It was quiet, and no one could be seen. After a long night of celebrating their victory over the Valley, everyone seemed to be asleep. They didn't know that this was just the beginning.Half of what I had planned seemed to go well here. Now, I had to put the second half of my plan into action. This part was a lot more difficult and had to be done right. We couldn't make a mistake. If we made a mistake, it would only set us back. When I went inside, my lycans were already there. For now, I had left the w

Athena’s POVEveryone was cheering around me as I stared with wide eyes at the huge sculpture. I knew right away what it was. This couldn't have happened by accident.I looked at the Drakkon King and a few of the people on his council. They were already laughing and joking around when they noticed that one of the horse's eyes moved just a little bit.I was only looking at the horse while the Drakkon king talked about his bravery and how he was better than the Lycan king, which led him to finally ask for a treaty. His speech kept going on and on, and he kept bragging about himself.Everyone in the camp was blinded, but they kept cheering for the Drakkon King as he kept talking."Tonight, we need to have a party to celebrate this victory! We now own the valley." He said it, and everyone in the crowd around me cheered and again praised the Drakkon King. After the King's speech, the war preparations that had been going on for the past day stopped right away. Instead of getting ready for w

"Ruel, please be mine," the king moaned as he tried to kiss me for the tenth time. I'm finding it harder and harder to stay away from you "He sighed. I was eating quickly because I wanted to finish dinner quickly so I could go back to my tent. I was done with that Drakkon king.I told him, "I have a price, and if you don't want to pay it, you can't have me." I crossed my hands on my chest and leaned back. At this point, the Drakkon king was so annoying that I wanted to hit him.He was getting weaker and weaker. He stopped moving for a moment. Before he snapped out of it and looked at me with much more determination, his face took on a strange look.He grabbed my face and growled out of the blue "Ruel, I'll take you. You will soon be mine, "The next thing I knew, his lips were right on mine. I was shocked out of the blue. I growled at him and tried to push him away, but it didn't look like he was going to let me go.As he kissed me more, I looked for a fork and stuck him in the thigh w

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 56

Athena's POVThe next day, I started being more cautious. The seal had been altered because the King now had confirmation that there were fake orders being passed around the camp in an effort to confuse the troops. After stealing one of the new seals in just half a day, I immediately went around issuing additional orders to further destabilize the camp. Now, everyone was utterly perplexed. The troops' plans for patrolling and other activities were currently disorganized, which made them weaker. The looks on their faces were just priceless, and I was enjoying this more than I probably should have. Rednor and I ran into each other several times. Each time, he tried to corner me, but I always found a way to get away.I didn't have much trouble duping the Drakkons. After all, I was a wolf, and my senses were much more acute than theirs. The Drakkons' size was the only advantage they had over me, but as long as I kept my head down and played with the king, that wasn't a problem for me. The

Athena's POV"Ruel!" As soon as Kine seen me, she gasped. I stood there like a statue, staring at Kine and Rednor with wide eyes. My mind was already planning the time and the movements I would need to make to kill them both in a record-breaking amount of time without alerting the camp, and one of my hands was hovering above the dagger hidden beneath my dress. At this moment, I could hear my heart beating in my chest. I vowed to castrate Lucian if things went south at this point. After all, His Harem could use an additional eunuch."Ruel, what happened? Are you okay?" As she got closer, Kine questioned me. I instantly looked around the tent and discovered that there was absolutely no sign of Lucian. Although I exhaled in relief, the expression on Rednor's face slightly worried me."I'm fine, I'm OK. What happened?" I prompted her."When I heard noises coming from this tent, I was just passing by it. It sounded to me as though someone was putting pressure on you. I immediately sped to

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 54

Athena's POVI snarled at him as soon as he removed his hand from my lips, "You cunning son of a bastard," but I was pinned against the medicine boxes that were staked against each other in the next split second, so I was unable to finish my sentence. He slammed his body into mine, pinning me with his hips as he grabbed my neck to make me look at him.Why do I notice his scent on you? He gave me a growl. I could see the inferno burning in his glowing, in the dark eyes. My spine tingled, and. His hot breath brushed my lips as his face was mere centimeters from mine.I held his stare regally despite the fact that the force emanating from his body would have made any other wolf whimper and quickly succumb.Identify yourself. I dared to ask him, which infuriated him beyond belief. If I had any doubts that he could approach me any closer after this, he proved me incorrect categorically by reaching closer to me and rubbing his body on mine. At this time, our lips were almost in contact. He

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 53

Athena's POVThe following evening, I had dinner with the king of Drakkon. We were both eating dinner and conversing in his own tent. He had already attempted to kiss me five times by this point. Both he and I were becoming more and more forceful in our attempts to kiss each other at this point. Why wouldn't you permit a kiss from me? He asked me once while displaying a really angry expression. He tried everything, including complimenting me and showering me with presents, but I steadfastly refused to even hint at having feelings for him. Even yet, I maintained my pleasant demeanor the entire time, which made it more difficult for him to treat me harshly."If you made me your wife, I would let you kiss me. Couples who kiss prior to marriage are considered sinners in our tribe, and you know how seriously I regard such traditions, "I pouted and gave him a very innocent expression, which made him even more irrational. He was tensely pacing near me, and I could feel it."Since you're no l

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 52

Athena's POVWhen he saw me right before dinner, the king of Drakkons said, "You look lovely in that dress." I was not blind to the way his gaze swept over every inch of my body while he did so.My wolf was internally appalled by it. She and I didn't want to do anything with him, but I gave him a beautiful grin anyhow since I wanted to keep my head on my neck for the rest of the day.I said, "Thank you," in a soft voice. "Your wife handed me her most fashionable clothes,"He responded with a flare in his eyes and then said to me, When we return to my kingdom, you'll be given a private chamber with gorgeous gowns and jewelry, He bragged. I wasn't sure how much of what he said was true, but I didn't care because I wasn't going to his palace any time soon.I grinned, "That sounds fantastic." I faked excitement and said, "I cannot wait to see your palace and find out what it's like.""You would adore it, my love. I can assure you that "Before extending his hand and escorting me to where d
