Athena's POV

In fact, the night was interesting. There was a very different feeling there. Even though the midwinter festival was being celebrated in his kingdom this morning, it was nothing compared to what happened in the court. The people in the court were the only ones who could eat, drink, dance, play games, and see other shows.

It was a whole different world there, and for a moment I did forget about Zeifa and the people who would find me there. I didn't feel any worry at all. That night, I was totally caught up in everything. I would have been lying if I said I didn't enjoy myself there.

I really liked it!

No matter who or what they were, those women knew what they were doing. They really knew how to make people have fun without doing anything sexual. Surely, each of them was very skilled. They were wonderful.

At the beginning of the night, there was music and dancing. Then it was time for the drinking games. Otsana was a great host, and I couldn't ignore the fact that she had

"Because you're not pretty!" Lucian's cold voice not only cut right through the dark she-heart, wolf's but it also made the four shadowy beings watching them from a distance gasp. They held their breath and watched as Lucian pushed the she-wolf quickly through the portal.Otsana's hands were balled up. She had never been more angry at Lucian than she was now. She had a hard time believing that he could say something like that for a moment. Otsana had heard it all. She had heard Lucian question a woman's strength and intelligence, but she had put up with his extreme views until now. This, however, was a completely different crime, and he had the nerve to say it to his friend. She was just a small puppy who didn't do anything wrong."I can make his drink bad. It would be simple for everyone, "Otsana made a move. Fowol sighed next to her, and Aphrodite made a laughing sound. While that was going on, Eros was busy picking out the sharpest arrow from his quiver."That wouldn't help at all.

Athena's POVLocros gave me a cup of lotus tea and said, "Here." I picked up the cup and looked at the hot brown liquid that was steaming in it. As my hands shook, small ripples came to the surface of the liquid. Locros put his hand under the cup to steady it, then took the cup and put it to my lips. I only took a very small sip. Even though the hot tea burned my tongue, I didn't do anything about it.Locros did notice it, though. He still had that strange look on his face as he puzzledly looked at me and blew on my tea to cool it down a bit. During that time, his eyes never left me. We were in my wing's small kitchen at the time. After calming me down and wiping away my tears, he carried me here. Even though I looked calm on the outside, I was still bleeding inside from the wound Lucian had given me.I would sometimes let out a small sob, and tears would run down my face. Locros would worry even more, and he would always reach out to wipe away my tears. He tried hard to make me feel

Athena's POV"He told me that he didn't want me because I'm ugly!" My words lingered for a while in the empty room and rang in both of our ears. The Queen's dark blue eyes kept staring at me for one more second. She lost it when she finally understood what I was saying."What?" She did. I heard the disgust in her voice right away. Was I the target? Was she also turned off by me?"He told me he didn't want me because I'm ugly!" I spoke again. I had no idea that my words could hurt me over and over again. I cried by myself.Part of me couldn't believe I was crying over such a small thing. Someone hadn't called me that for the first time. People did tell me I looked different when I was young, but it never hurt me this much. The only thing that made this hurt more was that my mate said this was why she didn't want to be with me. It was both very stupid and awful, but he was telling the truth, right? A small voice spoke inside me. I shook it off right away because I didn't want it to be r

Athena's POVI didn't know what the Queen was going to do to make Lucian pay, and she didn't give me any hints about what she was going to do. She only told me not to think about him too much. She made sure I had enough things to do around the palace to help me with this.Even Locros stopped asking me the same question over and over after a few days of pleading and fighting. Even though I knew he hadn't yet given up.The Queen's plan to keep me busy around Zeifa so I wouldn't have time to hang out and think too much about a certain lycan worked. In fact, it went very well.I didn't realize that it had been a few months since the event. Everything seemed to be getting back to normal, and I did feel normal most of the time, but there were times when my feelings and thoughts about what had happened caught me off guard.I was lying in bed one night, waiting to fall asleep. Even though I had worked all day and was very tired, sleep was nowhere to be found. I was tired, but not so tired tha

Lucian's POV"The Northern Command has a lot of people working for it, and right now they are keeping a close eye on the frozen islands. So far, they have only seen smoke coming from one of the northern islands. There should be someone there, "Amoux told me what was going on as I looked at every part of the small map. Everything looked like it was where it should be."That's enough," I said with a nod before looking at the mountains to the east. When I looked at that front, the corner of my mouth would twitch. It was the hardest part of the kingdom to watch over and the part I liked the least. Snow and mountains I couldn't climb had always been my weak spots."What's the end of that?" I asked. Amoux groaned next to me and said, "A lot of avalanches have happened there recently. Some of our warriors have gone missing, and the new snow has made that area even harder to get around in "I couldn't stop gritting my teeth and balling up my fists. I didn't like the news very much."We need to

Lucian's POVAfter that, I never saw her again. I went to Zeifa more than once for different reasons, but I never saw her again. Ever. This made my lycan angry, but I didn't show it on the outside. I did the exact opposite. When I went to Zeifa, I acted like I didn't care where she was or why she wasn't there. I acted like it didn't matter, but I was dying to know where she was, how she was doing, and why I couldn't see her.On the outside, I acted like I had never met her, but I really wanted to see her again. My lycan and I got more and more upset as time went on. At one point, my tortured lycan would have been happy with just a glimpse of her, but all of a sudden, she didn't seem to be there anymore.I wouldn't have said it out loud, but I was scared for a split second. She took up more of my thoughts than I would have liked. Part of me was starting to think that I hadn't met her at all and that everything was just in my head.I thought that following this idea should have made me

  • The King's Rebel   Chapter 28

Athena's POV As soon as I walked into the courtroom, I could feel his eyes on me. I wanted to look at him because of how my wolf was acting, but I didn't. At last, all those hours of practice had paid off. I talked, laughed, smiled, and made jokes, but I never once looked at him. We hadn't seen him in a long time, and my wolf was dying to sneak a peek, but I completely resisted the urge. I could do it better now. I just had to remind my wolf of how he had treated me the last time we were together. I had forgiven him, because holding a grudge for so long would have been pointless, but I had promised myself that I would never forget what he had done to me. I had learned to use it as motivation instead of spending all day crying about it, like I did when I was a puppy. I'm glad those days are over, and I'm glad I've grown up and learned from them, but he seemed stuck in the past. He was still the same old guy—judgmental, sexist, rude, and so full of himself that he had stopped growin

Athena's POV"I don't trust him. I'll also be going, "I said this as I held Ezekile's fiery gaze. When I told him that, he raised an eyebrow at me.He growled, "Say that again."Even though I knew it wasn't true, I said, "I didn't know you were losing your hearing." I could be heard pretty clearly. He was a little surprised by how bold I was. I said, "Anyway, I'll say it again for your convenience: I'll be going, too."Like the sun, his eyes burned. He told me, "I don't think you've learned from your mistake." "I'll say it again so you don't forget: women aren't allowed in any of my military camps," he growled. Because he copied me, I couldn't help but feel a little bit hot. If there hadn't been so many people around, I would have hit him right in the face."I'd like to remind you that I'm the leader of the wolves. I can go anywhere that my men can "I looked him straight in the eye and told him.Surprisingly, or not, it didn't seem like my words did anything to him other than make him

Athena’s POVWhen Atti saw me coming toward our camp, she gave me a whistle. Her eyes went all over my body before she gave me a sly grin. I gave her a friendly glare in return. I had just changed back into a human, so I was completely naked and shivering in the cold. When I got closer to her, she said, "Oh, look who's back!" She took off her coat right away and gave it to me."Since I went missing, I need you to keep me up to date on everything. I need to catch up quickly, "I told her to do something, and she did it right away. While Atti got all the papers together, I sat down in one of the tents and ate hot soup and breakfast. After I finished eating, the two of us sat down to talk about everything that happened while I was gone. While I was gone, nothing very interesting happened. All they did was get ready for a possible war and figure out how to stay alive in this bad weather.Atti said, "I think we should go back. Our work here is, more or less, done."I told her, "Not yet.""W

Lucian’s POVAs she walked out of the camp and swayed her hips from side to side, my eyes burned on her back. I didn't know if this was just how she walked or if she did it on purpose. Maybe it was that stupid dress, which fit her like a second skin and didn't leave much room for my imagination. Whenever I saw her in that thing, it made my hands itch and my inner lycan stir.I kept an eye on her until she left the camp. As soon as I couldn't see her anymore, I went to the Drakkon camp. It was quiet, and no one could be seen. After a long night of celebrating their victory over the Valley, everyone seemed to be asleep. They didn't know that this was just the beginning.Half of what I had planned seemed to go well here. Now, I had to put the second half of my plan into action. This part was a lot more difficult and had to be done right. We couldn't make a mistake. If we made a mistake, it would only set us back. When I went inside, my lycans were already there. For now, I had left the w

Athena’s POVEveryone was cheering around me as I stared with wide eyes at the huge sculpture. I knew right away what it was. This couldn't have happened by accident.I looked at the Drakkon King and a few of the people on his council. They were already laughing and joking around when they noticed that one of the horse's eyes moved just a little bit.I was only looking at the horse while the Drakkon king talked about his bravery and how he was better than the Lycan king, which led him to finally ask for a treaty. His speech kept going on and on, and he kept bragging about himself.Everyone in the camp was blinded, but they kept cheering for the Drakkon King as he kept talking."Tonight, we need to have a party to celebrate this victory! We now own the valley." He said it, and everyone in the crowd around me cheered and again praised the Drakkon King. After the King's speech, the war preparations that had been going on for the past day stopped right away. "Ruel, please be mine," the king moaned as he tried to kiss me for the tenth time. I'm finding it harder and harder to stay away from you "He sighed. I was eating quickly because I wanted to finish dinner quickly so I could go back to my tent. I was done with that Drakkon king.I told him, "I have a price, and if you don't want to pay it, you can't have me." I crossed my hands on my chest and leaned back. At this point, the Drakkon king was so annoying that I wanted to hit him.He was getting weaker and weaker. He stopped moving for a moment. Before he snapped out of it and looked at me with much more determination, his face took on a strange look.He grabbed my face and growled out of the blue "Ruel, I'll take you. You will soon be mine, "The next thing I knew, his lips were right on mine. I was shocked out of the blue. I growled at him and tried to push him away, but it didn't look like he was going to let me go.As he kissed me more, I looked for a fork and stuck him in the thigh w

Athena's POVThe next day, I started being more cautious. The seal had been altered because the King now had confirmation that there were fake orders being passed around the camp in an effort to confuse the troops. After stealing one of the new seals in just half a day, I immediately went around issuing additional orders to further destabilize the camp. Now, everyone was utterly perplexed. The troops' plans for patrolling and other activities were currently disorganized, which made them weaker. The looks on their faces were just priceless, and I was enjoying this more than I probably should have. Rednor and I ran into each other several times. Each time, he tried to corner me, but I always found a way to get away.I didn't have much trouble duping the Drakkons. After all, I was a wolf, and my senses were much more acute than theirs. The Drakkons' size was the only advantage they had over me, but as long as I kept my head down and played with the king, that wasn't a problem for me. The

Athena's POV"Ruel!" As soon as Kine seen me, she gasped. I stood there like a statue, staring at Kine and Rednor with wide eyes. My mind was already planning the time and the movements I would need to make to kill them both in a record-breaking amount of time without alerting the camp, and one of my hands was hovering above the dagger hidden beneath my dress. At this moment, I could hear my heart beating in my chest. I vowed to castrate Lucian if things went south at this point. After all, His Harem could use an additional eunuch."Ruel, what happened? Are you okay?" As she got closer, Kine questioned me. I instantly looked around the tent and discovered that there was absolutely no sign of Lucian. Although I exhaled in relief, the expression on Rednor's face slightly worried me."I'm fine, I'm OK. What happened?" I prompted her."When I heard noises coming from this tent, I was just passing by it. It sounded to me as though someone was putting pressure on you. I immediately sped to

Athena's POVI snarled at him as soon as he removed his hand from my lips, "You cunning son of a bastard," but I was pinned against the medicine boxes that were staked against each other in the next split second, so I was unable to finish my sentence. He slammed his body into mine, pinning me with his hips as he grabbed my neck to make me look at him.Why do I notice his scent on you? He gave me a growl. I could see the inferno burning in his glowing, in the dark eyes. My spine tingled, and. His hot breath brushed my lips as his face was mere centimeters from mine.I held his stare regally despite the fact that the force emanating from his body would have made any other wolf whimper and quickly succumb.Identify yourself. I dared to ask him, which infuriated him beyond belief. If I had any doubts that he could approach me any closer after this, he proved me incorrect categorically by reaching closer to me and rubbing his body on mine. At this time, our lips were almost in contact. He

Athena's POVThe following evening, I had dinner with the king of Drakkon. We were both eating dinner and conversing in his own tent. He had already attempted to kiss me five times by this point. Both he and I were becoming more and more forceful in our attempts to kiss each other at this point. Why wouldn't you permit a kiss from me? He asked me once while displaying a really angry expression. He tried everything, including complimenting me and showering me with presents, but I steadfastly refused to even hint at having feelings for him. Even yet, I maintained my pleasant demeanor the entire time, which made it more difficult for him to treat me harshly."If you made me your wife, I would let you kiss me. Couples who kiss prior to marriage are considered sinners in our tribe, and you know how seriously I regard such traditions, "I pouted and gave him a very innocent expression, which made him even more irrational. He was tensely pacing near me, and I could feel it."Since you're no l

Athena's POVWhen he saw me right before dinner, the king of Drakkons said, "You look lovely in that dress." I was not blind to the way his gaze swept over every inch of my body while he did so.My wolf was internally appalled by it. She and I didn't want to do anything with him, but I gave him a beautiful grin anyhow since I wanted to keep my head on my neck for the rest of the day.I said, "Thank you," in a soft voice. "Your wife handed me her most fashionable clothes,"He responded with a flare in his eyes and then said to me, When we return to my kingdom, you'll be given a private chamber with gorgeous gowns and jewelry, He bragged. I wasn't sure how much of what he said was true, but I didn't care because I wasn't going to his palace any time soon.I grinned, "That sounds fantastic." I faked excitement and said, "I cannot wait to see your palace and find out what it's like.""You would adore it, my love. I can assure you that "Before extending his hand and escorting me to where d
