Chapter 5
POV: Arlan
Dillion gave him a sign that all the packs were already complete. He sighed in relief as he looked at the vast quiet crowd gathered in the Great Hall, sitting at their designated tables ignoring other packs.
His eyes slightly stopped towards the two anxious and well-driven packs sitting in the front row of the room.
The Lunar Pack sat in the left side corner of the area – quietly and seriously talking at each other – and the Dark Wood Pack sitting on the right side of the room – who was intensely glaring at the former pack.
Arlan disappointedly shook his head at the latter pack and went near the King to inform him.
It was the day of the Pack Meeting. Even he, couldn’t comprehend what was in the King’s mind right now. He was also surprised as to why the King held the gathering inside his palace. It was the first time, and everyone was looking forward to his announcement that made him decide to go onto this far.
Everyone knew that he abhorred gatherings – especially inside his palace, so he created a separated Grand Ballroom outside – near the place to hold such assemblies.
And now?
Here they were.
Arlan just shrugged his shoulders off. He didn’t want to ask any more questions – for now. Although, he was against some of the topics on today’s agenda.
He let out a deep sighed. He couldn’t do anything about it, though. He trusted the King’s decision – and as his loyal Kingsman, all he could do was to obediently follow.
“You’re Majesty, all of the packs were already here.” He bowed his head down to give respect as he said the words to the King, who was sitting at his golden throne looking intently at the huge glass window as if it was the most interesting thing on earth.
Arlan’s forehead creased as he straightened his back and cleared his throat – trying to get the Alpha King’s attention. The King shifted his deep penetrating gaze towards him. It was so intense that the hair at the back of his nape stood directly.
He immediately swallowed hard to compose himself from the intensifying fear that was slowly creeping inside him, “W-We can start now, my King,” he carefully said – making his lips tremble a bit.
King Hades curled the corner of his lips upwards as he smelled the scent of fear emerging towards his second in command – making him anticipate more.
His wolf loved the way they feared him, and it was now at bay.
He clenched his jaw and raised his brow to govern himself from his animalistic side.
“Then, start,” his booming and unfathomable dark cold voice echoed in the entire hall, shushing everyone, and caught all their gazes turning to them.

Some time, before the pack meeting in the castle started…
POV: Shahara
It was not just a typical day for every pack which was in positions like hers. Being the daughter of the Alpha and Luna of the Lunar Pack requires a challenging yet complicated sense of obligation and accountability.
It was all wearing her out a bit these past few days.
Shahara heaved a deep sighed as she turned her head around the Great Hall. The moment she stepped into the castle; she could quietly feel the dark aura encompassing every corner of it. It wasn’t her first time, but it always felt like it was whenever she entered this cursed place.
She deeply smirked.
She hated this place – it was suffocating her… As well as the memories it held.
She instantly shook her head to erase that rushing excruciating thoughts.
Besides, she always loathed to wear these kind of fancy long dresses – for she couldn’t even move the way she wanted. She was more comfortable with just jeans and a shirt.
The high heeled shoes were also painful to bear, but she had, too. Her mother might lose her mind when she wore a pair of high cut shoes instead.
That was a sight to see – but she’d rather not do so, or else she’ll be bored to death inside their mansion for being grounded.
Yes.
She would be grounded, and it was awfully traumatizing.
She shook her head when she remembered the last time, she experienced that one. It was probably the most boring days of her life that she almost got maddeningly crazy.
She wouldn’t want to experience it again.
Shahara rolled her eyes upwards as she remembered how her mother looked at her a while ago while wearing this icky gagging long dress and killer high heeled shoes.
She heaved a deep sigh for the nth time.
She was now wearing a deep dark cobalt blue mermaid-cut dress that reached her ankles. It was elegant and chic – perfectly accentuated her hourglass body shape – but still, she didn’t like it a bit.
Her creamy and fair skin was flawlessly specified and matches her wavy auburn hair – tied up in a slight loose messy bun making some of the wavy strands of her hair flow at both sides of her face.
She wasn’t fond of wearing make-up, thus she just put on a mascara and an eyeliner that matches her tweaked wood colored almond shaped eyes and to at least give color to her pale face. Her lips were natural pink and she just left it as it is – making her stunningly gorgeous.
Shahara took a small sip of champagne in her wineglass as she boredly waited for the meeting to start. She wanted to yawn loudly, but she couldn’t do so. The King’s presence was too powerful and authoritative as it radiated throughout the entire room.
Besides, her parents were watching her every move. She needed to portray her proper etiquette. She wanted to gag at that thought.
She heaved another sighed and took another sip of champagne when her eyes suddenly stopped to a certain man sitting on the last step of the Grand staircase in the left corner of the room.
He was looking at the crowded place with his usual bored look.
Her hands shook with too much anticipation as she held the glass tightly and immediately placed it back on the table. Her heart beat speedily fast and her breath hitched as she clenched her fist into a firm grip to loosen the burning sensation she felt.
Her inner wolf began to move restlessly inside her, that she needed to let herself exhale slowly through her mouth.
His raven-black hair glistened through the light of the chandeliers, and his deep-set black eyes never failed to amaze hers. His toned body was covered with his fair skin.
His midnight blue tuxedo and pants – that signified power and sophistication didn’t complement where he was sitting from.
Well, what did she expect?
It was Prince Raven Pierce – the Alpha King’s strategic and virtuoso brother.
The man who didn’t care about whatever anyone said at him.
Shahara’s breath got caught in her throat as his intense gaze accidentally met hers.
He’s forehead creased as his jaw clenched firmly – his stare darkened as his eyes narrowed down into thin slits.
She couldn’t help but to swallow hard to get rid of the lump in her throat and avoid his scorching stares – it was clenching her heart painfully and burning something inside her stomach as well.
As if her eyes had their own mind and carefully looked at the man once again – and she almost gasped when he was still looking at her intently, making her toes curl involuntarily.
Her eyes looked down at the champagne she was drinking a while ago, which was now placed on top of the table. Her fingers were fidgeting on her lap as her heart was still hammering hard inside her chest.
“Then, start.”
The dark cold voice that held the greatest power and authority boomed in the entire place, making her gasp, and causing her to shiver down to her spine.
All eyes were darted to his second in command, Arlan – who was standing in front of the golden podium – wearing his stoic and outright face.
They cannot directly look at Alpha King Hades Pierce because it was a sign of being insolent – one of the many things the King abhors.
Arlan cleared his throat as he looked at the huge crowd.
“Good evening. We will proceed now with the agenda to make this pack meeting done immediately.” His hoarse voice echoed as everyone was intently listening to him.
“First agenda. Tomorrow will be the scheduled execution of the prisoners, so on behalf of the King’s command, I would like to inform the Lunar Pack and Dark Wood Pack to choose representatives to stay after this meeting for the prisoner’s trial.” His voice resonated as Shahara blinked in confusion.
Why would they need to stay?
Prisoner’s trial?
Wasn’t it the duty of Arlan – who was the second in command?
She looked at her parents with the same look as hers – and she knew that everyone was wondering why.
“May I request that the second in command, to please enlighten us as to why do we need to be there for the prisoner’s trial? Isn’t it one of your duties and responsibilities?”
The voice came out seductively from the wicked and ruthless Luna of the Dark Wood Pack – Lamina Darkwood.
Shahara crossed her arms in front of her chest and rolled her eyes in annoyance. She then looked at Lamina while raising her brow in disgust, then to the younger version of her – who was smirking smugly at her – Leah Darkword, her daughter.
She gritted her jaw and picked up the champagne from the table to take a small sip – so, she could hide her growing irritation.
Lamina was wearing a very skimpy red dress with a plunging neckline that only covered her private parts. Her light ash blonde hair was done in a sleek high ponytail and her lips were painted in deep red – like she always did.
While Leah, on the other hand, was wearing a black keyhole neckline empire dress that reached only the half of her thigh. Her straight deep ash blonde hair was flowing freely at her back.
She secretly rolled her eyes.
“It was a training for each of the packs for proper handling of those wolves who defied the law. You were chosen to assess this first batch of prisoners – as to the other packs – it will be rolled over batch by batch. This is a new command from the King.” Arlan answered plainly – never showing any kind of intimidation towards Lamina.
The room was filled with an earsplitting silence as he took the question good as done, so he instantly continued.
“Secondly, we wanted to warn every pack not to try any kind of insolence and uncalled violence, most especially on using rogues as hunters.” He continued, as a devilish smirk appeared on his lips whilst analyzing every reaction of every pack in the hall.
Shahara chilled down on her spine, not because of what he just said, but because of the sneer he just did – proving to everyone why he is the Alpha King’s second in command – and that anyone of them should not dare cross them.
And rogues as hunters?
She pressed her lips together.
Their enemies were now into this kind of tricks, huh? – She furiously thought.
“Third and lastly.”
Arlan paused as his eyes narrowed into thin slits, making him more intimidating than usual.
Shahara firmly pressed her lips together and balled her fist until her knuckles turned pale white as she heard the final announcement.
“Our Alpha King was currently looking for his own ‘Regina’ and every pack should choose one representative to be assessed by the Were Elders’ Council, Prince Raven Pierce, and the King himself,” the second in command words escaped from his lips – full of seriousness and hostility.
And the room was filled with both bewilderment and pleasure.
Finally, the King of All Wolf Borne would settle down.
Shahara heaved a deep sigh and bit her lower lip gently to suppress her excruciating emotions as her gaze stopped at the man who was supposed to be sitting at the last upper step of the grand staircase, and now turning his back at everyone walking away – at her – making her heart sank with immeasurable pain.
Chapter 6POV: TamaraDeath is one of the inevitable things in this world – you couldn’t run from it even if you wanted to. Once it knocks on your door, no matter if you’re ready or not, whether you accept it or not, it would eventually reclaim your life.“Hey, you, stand up,” a loud adenoidal voice snapped her eyes wide open.It was already a sultry late afternoon – well, she guessed it. Tamara was still sitting on the cold floor as her upper body was leaning against the brick wall. Her mouth was dry as she tried to swallow the bile lump on her throat. She couldn’t find any strength to stand up for the hopelessness she felt, knowing that she would be facing her miserable death tomorrow. Will she be gun fired? Or hanged? Or put into a deep sleep and would never wake up?She shook her head swiftly as she pressed her eyes shut tightly, then opened it again – trying to erase the nega
Chapter 7POV: TamaraTamara woke up by the golden sun rays passing through the large glass windows of where she was lying – making her eyes shut once again. She was about to move when she felt her entire body ached – she whimpered. She was just thankful that she could feel she was lying in a soft and comfy bed – not on a cold concrete floor or filthy ground.“Don’t move and stay still, you needed to rest.” A tender soft voice made her eyes snap wide open – she wanted to scream suddenly because of the anticipating flashes of what happened to her in the court room instantly became clear in her mind. She was welcome with a woman with a wavy auburn hair that wasn’t familiar to her.The woman was simple but perfectly gorgeous in her plain white shirt and navy-blue jogger pants matched with white and black high-cut shoes! She got a glass of water with a straw in it – giving it and assis

He bit his lower lip to keep himself from flinching. The ruthless and cunning Luna of the Dark Wood Pack – which was also his mother – Lamina Darkwood, was so mad for what happened in the prisoner’s trial that she almost turned red due to her maddening fury. She was walking back in forth in front of them – and he could feel that she was so close to shifting into her wolf form – but he hopefully not.“What the heck happened, Aeron?! You are at a barn? For what? I entrusted you with the mission to find a
Chapter 9POV: TamaraShe spent her entire day just inside her room. She wanted to have time for herself and mourned for her parents’ death. Aunt Rania and Uncle Lorenzo – as they told her to call them – were so patient and considerate towards her actions that she was so grateful for them. She knew that she was indebted to them big time. And in time, she would pay their kindness to her.She went out of her room – didn’t even touch her dinner given by the servant. She was not starving and just wanted to tend to her devastated self. She slowly walked down the stairs – ignoring the curious looks from the guards, who just remained stagnantly glued to the ground as she passed them.Tamara found herself in the middle of the garden maze in front of the Lunar Mansion. She saw a mix of wood and concrete Victorian style gazebo – defined by a complex and luxuriant ornate detail with decorat
Chapter 10POV: TamaraTamara plopped down and sprawled in her comfy bed – her arms spread, and she closed her eyes.It was a tiring day for her – yet she was so happy that she had Shahara patiently mentoring her by her side. All in all, she had a lot of things to learn, and she was totally enjoying it. She was now discovering a lot about herself – which was hidden by her parents. She heaved a deep sigh – remembering her parents. It was still tough for her, but she needed to continue her life and be strong.Tamara shook her head lightly.Shahara taught her about shifting into her wolf form today – she said that needed to know how to connect her human link to her inner wolf, and so far, she’s doing great. It just that her entire body was aching – but not the same as she first shifted as a wolf.Tamara felt her cheeks turn pale pink when she remembered her question to Shahara earli
Chapter 11POV: Prince Raven Pierce“Let me guess, he didn’t listen to you.” He let out a soft chuckle at Arlan, who went to the study room where he was spending most of his time.Prince Raven was holding a book and didn’t even bother to look at him, who forcibly plopped down to the black sofa bed while gently rubbing his injured neck.Arlan just scoffed at the prince, making him laugh at him more.He was close to everyone in the castle, even to Arlan – his brother’s second in command. He was told that he was the one creating a balance in the castle – his older brother, King Hades, being the yin, and him, being the yang. They were the total opposite. With all of those things, he didn’t mind it, though – like how deaf his brother was it those things, too. Besides, being compared wasn’t a trending news to either of them already.“Why wouldn’t he
Chapter 12POV: Lamina“Is this all that you find?” Luna Lamina annoyingly asked Gorgo – the Dark Wood Pack’s Beta – who couldn’t look straight at her and just bowed his head. She furiously stared at the picture of a baby girl and a golden crest necklace placed on her table.“Yes, Luna Lamina. Winston and Ameia Davis were indeed ingenious and shrewd. They hide Tamara’s whereabouts profoundly. Even her scent was unrecognizable, and I didn’t know how they did that.” Gorgo nervously explained.Luna Lamina could smell his frustrations, making her grit her teeth in deep annoyance – her inner wolf was at bay.“That wasn’t good enough, Gorgo. I want you to find her and fast – or else, you know what the hell will happen to you.” She ferociously warned him.Gorgo swallowed roughly as his legs shook because of fear.“I understand Luna Lamina.&
Chapter 13POV: Shahara“My goodness! I really wanted to wipe that smug smile off his face! He was so annoying!”Tamara was fuming mad as she vented her feelings out towards her.She was walking back and forth in front of her bed – her both hands on her waist – while Shahara was calmly sitting on her comfy bed – leaning on its head rest. Her elbows were placed on the top of the pillow and her face rested on her palms.Shahara immediately went to her room after dinner, and she started ranting over and over again for about thirty minutes now, all about – Kage Esmeray – Doctor Dreyson’s brilliant apprentice.Tamara couldn’t get over her sudden meeting with Kage that she was indeed blabbering about him. Shahara shook her head as she hugged Tamara’s pillows – didn’t want to comment on her raging emotions, though.Besides, she wouldn’t be surprised if Tamar
POV: Queen Tamara Pierce Life is not always fair, beautiful, and perfect – like the moon, which is never full all the time. It has its own phase, and it must go through it until it finally serves its purpose. No matter how dark the night was during the new moon, it would be more fulfilling to see the full moon, finally gracing its luminescence in the dark night sky. Tamara only wanted to discover her identity, her real roots – who was she? However, fate had a different plan for her – showing her what she was destined to be. “Mom! Thanatos is making annoying antics again!” Her daughter, Styx, pouted as she grumpily sat on the single couch in the library before she crossed her arms. Her forehead creased as she was about to answer her when the door suddenly burst wide open, and Thanatos entered the room with his grim expression. He gave his twin sister a warning glare, but he didn’t say a word. Seven years had passed but until now, she still couldn’t believe that she had been given
POV: King Hades Pierce “I heard that you had mistreated your Sacred Emissary… again.” Hades made a serious remark to his brother, who was lost in his books. However, seeing how Raven was affected by the mere mention of that particular word, he smirked inwardly. “Shut it off, Hades.” Raven darkly told him. Irritation was filled by his voice. “Oh, so cold. After giving her some azaleas, huh?” He playfully commented, as he couldn’t hide his smirk anymore. Raven just clenched his jaw as he put his book on his lap and stared at him grimly. “Whatever.” He stated darkly before the corner of his lips rose, this time giving him a mocking smile. “Anyway, how about you, then? You have your own, right? The mark had been revealed. I can’t believe that the Lunar Pack is getting this huge responsibility.” Raven suddenly remarked. His forehead instantly creased, but he couldn’t stop the excitement that suddenly embraced him. Yes. The Sacred Emissaries came from the Lunar Pack, and he had no
Chapter 101 POV: Queen Tamara Pierce Tamara could hear voices from the people around her. However, because of her throbbing head – she stayed with her eyes closed until the voices became clearer this time. “I am sure she will go berserk later on once she gains consciousness.” She heard a cold voice – but she could distinguish a bit of worry in her voice. She might be guessing that it was Shanaia who said that. “We have no other choice but to do this to her. The King requested this thing, and I have no other choice but to follow.” She heard another woman’s voice – which she presumed was Tamika’s this time. ‘What the heck is happening?!’ She screamed in her mind, but she kept her mouth shut as she was trying to remember what happened to her prior to this. She suddenly remembered that she was talking to Hades and before he walked away from her, she had already lost her consciousness. “But-” Shanaia was about to say something when she abruptly stopped as Tamika let out a breathy si
Chapter 100POV: Queen Tamara VikeshCessair had finally reached his full lycan potential!Hades started to call everyone to back down as Cessair was already getting out of control.Raven started to turn into his lycan form as well as Kage into his wolf form. Hades was about to go when she held his hand.Worry was etched into her face – making Hades look at her with his gentle and loving gaze. Her eyes welled up. She knew that her concern for him right now was over the moon – especially as she saw how powerful Cessair was, now that he had turned into his lycan form. The liquid that he had drunk was making him more powerful, and she was scared of Hades. He still hadn’t fully recovered, and he still needed to face this.Hades held her cheeks in his softest way possible – as if he were holding something fragile. Her drifting mind was solely focused to him now.“I know that you are so worried right now, wife.” Hades gently told her as he moved closer to her – fanning her face with his min
Chapter 99 POV: Queen Tamara Pierce She opened her eyes as she felt a hand caress her hair, and she turned to face Hades, who only gave her a small and weak smile. “Hades!” She abruptly cried as she gave him a tight hug. Hades slightly grunted and she quickly removed her embrace. Her eyes widened when she realized how clumsy she was! “Oh! I’m sorry… I just… I…” Her eyes welled up as she looked at Hades gently caressing her cheek. She bit her lower lip as her tears fell and she firmly closed her eyes. Her hormones were truly making her more sensitive and emotional. However, she couldn’t stop herself from getting too emotional because Hades was now awake. She was so worried about him. “Shhh…” He soothed her as his thumb wiped her tears away. She opened her eyes and stared lovingly at him. “I thought I will l-lose you. I am s-so scared.” She finally admitted her vulnerability. Hades swallowed hard as he slightly shook his head. “You will never lose me, wife. I will do whatever
Chapter 98 POV: Lamina Darkwood Being shocked was an understatement. She was certainly astounded as to its deeper sense. She couldn’t believe that she was hearing everything about it. “Just like your father. I am very proud of you, Cessair, and I bet your father would have been very proud of you. You are as manipulative and as sly as he is.” Elder Courdamus cynically commented. “He should have said that to me. He should still be here with us. If not for Lamina’s father! That Lomero is truly much more cunning and treacherous.” His voice became so dangerous and firm. She pursed her lips together at the mere mention of her father’s name. Her heart was clenching inside her so hard that it was making it hard for her to breath. “Good thing that you ended his life. His daughter had compensated for everything that he should be doing for us. Lamina’s wrath towards the Royal Blood because of her blinded and unrequited love for the late King Reeve and for her thoughts that they had killed
Chapter 97 POV: Queen Tamara Pierce She couldn’t stop herself from being grateful to Shanaia and Tamika. She didn’t know them deeply, but they had been helping them with all their might, and like what she told them – their debts were now piling up. Hades was now soundly sleeping inside their master bedroom – and she was improving thanks to Tamika's assistance. She thought all of them were doomed because of what happened to Hades. She couldn’t believe that they had a plan for it. Hopefully, Hades will be waking up soon. “So, what have you done to my brother?” Raven’s voice inquired as his eyes darted to Shanaia, who seemed unbothered by his piercing eyes. His forehead creased as to how Raven said those words – as if he was suspicious or something. He seemed to be pushing Shanaia to speak up for the truth. ‘What the heck is wrong with him?’ Tamara mentally thought. “Tamika gave that to me, just in case. We all know that you’ve done something to the elixir during our surprise att
Chapter 96POV: Queen Tamara PierceHer breathing became heavier, but her strong will to protect her child was stronger than her fears.Lamina slowly moved towards the bed as they gradually moved away from her.Her gray eyes were turning a darker shade. She could smell danger and pure ferocity surrounding her.“What do you want now, Lamina?” Her stern voice resonated in the four corners of the room. She was glad that her tone wasn’t shaken at all – it was firm and full of resolve. The cruel woman – in her wolf form – just let out a low, eerie growl, as if it was telling her to shut up.But Tamara just wanted to end this peacefully – well, she might say that she was hoping that way.Lamina turned into her human form as she got some of bed sheet to cover her nakedness. She let out a vicious smirk. Her eyes were cold and unreadable.“Finally, I have come face to face with you, Tamara – oh, my bad. It is Queen Tamara now, right?” She sardonically stated.“What do you want now?” Shanaia in
Chapter 95POV: King Hades PierceHis mind was in chaos. He knew that when it came to Tamara, he was certainly affected. He was walking back and forth in the Throne Room since Tamika had told him to stay out of their room so she could tend Tamara.Shanaia had become their guard, and she was watching the front door.He was about to go back when Raven entered the room. He had bullets of sweat on his forehead and was breathing heavily with a worried expression pasted on his face. His forehead instantly creased.“C-Can’t you feel that?” He asked – full of unadulterated concern in his tone of voice.“Feel what?” He asked, bewildered.Because of too much worrying for Tamara – he was certainly out of focus. But then, he suddenly felt an intensifying aura slowly creeping in near the palace. It was coming from the South Side.Although there was the tranquility amidst the place, he would certainly feel the eeriness it had with it.“They’re here. Prepare everyone.” He commanded with his voice fu
