"Calla, are you okay? " Frantically, she pushes your hair back to examine your neck.
When no sign of puncture is seen, she holds your face in between her cold hands and sternly looks at you straight in the eyes before saying.
"Be honest with me okay? What did Aziel do to you?"
-
Like a bomb finally exploding, the reality of your best friend's identity splashes down on you. From the top to the very last drop, without leaving anything behind, she told you anything.
Using your fingers, your drag them across your hair, untangling the knots, and remain quiet as you try to digest everything she's told you.
"Calla." She says in an almsot helpless tone.
Your best friend, Hayeo- no. That's not it.
That's not even her real name.
Yvon.
Yvon is actually a vampire. A paled skin, cold-blooded entity, child of the night, blood sucking creature with rigid sharp fangs- your best friend, is a vampire.
This is too much. Even for you.
Why do you suddenly have the urge to laugh? And it's not the kind of laugh where you'd think something was funny or amusing though.
It's the kind of laugh that signals the distress of the mind. It's leaning towards the side of a psychotic one.
"Wow." You can't help but whisper after hearing her side of the story.
Indeed, this is all too much for you to take in. And it hasn't even been twenty four hours since you've got here.
Aziel's Pov
Aziel Basileus is unable to confront that half wolf half vampire cousin of his. So he finds himself space walking just outside the golden entrance of her room debating with himself.
Should he barge in or should he not?
Stopping, he links his eyes towards the rigid carat stained texture of a door, fisting a hand and bringing it closer to the polished doorway.
Should he?
A low grunt seeps from the shallow depths of his chest as he inches his fingers down to the door knob instead, firmly grabbing hold.
The knob feels like crystal ice freezing the slender length of his fingertips as he begins to leisurely twist, anticipation radiating off his body like the sun radiating heat.
But then he stops.
A frightening memory of a younger version of him getting tackled down by a little girl two times smaller his body mass makes him draw far away from the door like he's had the worst electrocuting sensation of his life.
He finds himself breathing laboriously without any physical contact.
Yvon. The only woman, after the queen, who can scare him to his unreliable death.
It's terrifying enough that she's got a perception of his unwanted presence outside the forepart of her room.
She knows he's outside.
Yvon, a vampire, with wolf blood spewing in her system and not to mention remnants of human blood combined, makes her the strongest female royal hybrid he's ever known but can as well be the most prone to even stronger creatures lingering at the outcast.
This is why Dyan came up with a plan to have her stay on earth; where she'll be safe.
But he's still curious.
Confused. These emotions almost shadow the fright he has for his beloved cousin.
Almost.
That new girl that was brought it. There's just something about that girl that's causing Aziel to be weary. And the disturbing part about it is that he has no idea why.
Calla's Pov
It makes sense now. Sorta. But you're trying to help her out. Yvon gives you a heart-to-heart talk, assuring you in the end that even after knowing all these, you'll still remain friends.
Yvon is still Hayeon. She's the same girl you helped in the library. And Hayeon is still Yvon. Even if sharp fangs accentuate the edges of her lips.
They're the same person but with different names.
But why are you here?
"About that." Yvon clears the awkward tickle in her throat. "You see. My cousin does this thing once in a blue moon where he spends a huge amount of nauda to purchase an item to add to his collections. Last year he bought himself a dragon egg. But in this case...." She trails off and nibbles the skin of her bottom lip to find the perfect words for it."In this case.. what you humans do on earth, prostitutes and such-but it's not for the reason you're thinking."
What exactly are you supposed to be thinking?
Just a while ago you were auctioned in a dystopian land. Here.
Hearing Hayeo- Yvon's weak excuse of an explanation doesn't help but add more salt to the wound.
There's only one way things can go back to the way it's supposed to be.
"How do I return to....earth then?"
The moment these words flee your lips like a butterfly taking flight, Yvon feels guilt crippling the bed beneath to reach the pulsing tubes of her heart.
You didn't think it was possible, but Yvon's skin slowly beginning to convene an even much more paler texture.
Almost as if she's just seen a ghost.
Is that even possible though? For a vampire to be scared of ghosts? That's probably a question for another day.
"Don't hate me." She suddenly says, squinting her eyes. "Don't hate me please."
"Wh-"
"I made it up." Confesses the black haired girl. "I made it up. There are no accidents. The volcano. That idiot Aziel bringing you here. The bite. It was the only way to get you here without anyone outside the kingdom expecting. It had to look natural or they'll question his intentions." Suddenly her dark eyes flicker down to the curve between your neck and collar bone. "He bit you didn't he?"
The creaking door of Yvon's room draws both your attention towards it, revealing a blond man you think you've seen before.
He's clad in a grey sweatshirt that's a little bit too oversized for him, scrunched between the left of his hand is a bright red beanie while a phone occupies the right of his hand.
They have phones here too.
Initially, you'd assume he's also from the earth if he didn't have a sword vined around the length of his pants that rested just beside the side of his waist.
"Calla." Yvon murmurs like a crying puppy. "You remember Dyan right?"
The name rings a bell.
It was a Saturday evening and Hayeon wanted to introduce you to someone.
"Dyan this is Calla." She introduces. "The girl I keep telling you about."
Yes.
You remember.
He's that boy you met last year. Another person follows Dyan in, delivering an eerie slither down your spine. Even if the window's open, the room suddenly feels suffocating.
Suddenly there's a sensation in your wrist like someone's swiped a blade across the surface of your skin.
It turns out that someone indeed gave you a cut while you were glaring at the newcomer.
However, you don't feel pain. Even if it's supposed to be one.
Dyan grips your hand in place, penetrating through layers of your wrist with a knife.
You don't know how he got here.
After doing what he did, he can't stop but stare.
There's now a deep cut incised on your skin, by him, and it's bleeding like crazy. A normal human being would have already started panicking after seeing such an amount of blood oozing out. But since things had happened too fast, you're still processing the situation.
One second, your wrist's bleeding, and the next, it doesn't. It's like magic.
Amongst the four of you, Yvon appears to be the most overwhelmed.
The portion where the fresh cut is supposed to be isn't there anymore.
You force your hand free and rub the portion of the skin. It's taking a lot within you to not get up and tackle Dyan. What's keeping you rooted in the fact that you're not on earth and that the people surrounding you aren't normal.
"Interesting," Dyan murmurs under his breath. The blade emits a synth sound when he slides it's back to his side.
So what if your wounds heal quicker than average? You're still human. Even if a part of you isn't.
Aziel. It's because of him.
Damn it.
You're like this because his ancestors were a bunch of fools to...to believe. You doubt he's even aware of it.
Each vein pulsating blood in your living body reacts to his presence and it's boiling with annoyance.
And yet, he stands there, the edge of his lips scornfully lifting in mirth.
Each vein pulsating blood in your living body reacts to his presence and it's boiling with annoyance.
"You're not leaving." It's Aziel this time talking beside you, arms crossed over his chest. He does this thing of raising an eyebrow up, almost in a cocky manner that makes your blood boil."And why not?"He shrugs, fabric scr
"But my brothers-"Lionell cuts you off. "Don't worry about your brothers. They know of the plan and are actually on board with it."It takes you about thirty seconds to completely understand Lionell's words. You didn't happen to hear him wrong right? "I'm sorry what?"Lionell blinks his eyes and snaps his fingers again resulting in the book disappearing with a poof. "You're talking about Jeongi, Yoonsi, and Haru right?""How do you know them?"Lionell opens his mouth only to close it when Yvon sends him a glare from your side.Instead, he shows you a dimpled smile. "It's a long story actually. I'll have them explain to you themselves. It seems like my work here is done. I best be going now. It was a pleasure meeting you, Calla."You offer Lionell a hard stare.
Stuffing your face against the pillow, you hum loudly. For some reason, Yvon doesn't think the response is satisfactory. You're offended by that but choose to let it slide. You wonder what time it is. When the volcano erupted, it was during the afternoon. You were probably out for five hours before getting auctioned and once you arrived in the palace, you blacked out again. All those countless times you collapsed resulted in you losing awareness of time. It's probably late afternoon right now. I mean, you can still see that it's daylight outside."I'm serious, Calla.""I heard you."A Few Hours Later
Dyan nods his head in understanding. "I understand what you mean. You're a Lycan after all. Your brothers were just trying to protect you."You scoff absently. "I guess so."How does feeding you vegetables protect you exactly? Instead of voicing that out, you just shove in another spoonful of this world's yummy delicacy into your mouth.Yvon nibbles the bottom of her lip before placing another chicken leg on your plate, forcing a smile to show on her face. "Here. Eat more Calla. If you want, I can have the chiefs cook something similar for your midnight snacks.""Sounds like a plan." You wink at her.Later That Night. It was silent and everything that was alive in this realm had finally shut down. Slowly setting the blanket aside, you step out of

At this rate, it'll take them until daylight for them to find out you've escaped.Where do go from here though? You've thought ahead of that. It's like a wail of a thousand demons. The wind blows harsher, stronger, and it's getting colder. When you look up, it's as if the trees are devouring you. You can't see the moon. But why does it seem like something's preventing you from recalling the events of last night?Yvon slides her hand up and down your spine as if to comfort you. "I've prepared you varieties of clothes you know. They're in the closet if you wanna check them out."Forcing a smile to display across your lips, you look up to your best friend and say. "After breakfast.-Aziel didn't show up at the break fast table so Yvon ended up explaining that he had to leave to check on the borders.Whatever that meant.Dyan had left afterward saying he had to take care of some things.Breakfast was fantastic as always and you were given the permission to roam around freely after that. But before you could start your journey, your best friend had pulled you back
Yvon faces you. "How did you know that?"Humming, you lean back and reply. "I used to watch a lot of sports with my brothers. Basketball, tennis. But mostly Soccer. ""But Calla. This isn't any of those."As if that information was new to you, you pause a bit before nodding your head. "I guess you're right.""Where are you going?""Back inside." You respond to Yvon before heading in first.Yvon decided to stay and watch the men training for a few more minutes. With a hum vibrating from your throat, you slide your scrunchie down before tying your hair up again. Every now and then, you notice individuals popping up from left to right in the hallway using magic. It amazes you, to be honest. And as a Lycan, you'll probably never had the chance to experience that ability. It's just far beyond y
That girl wasn't lying when she said give be in the training grounds when you're not busy. The sound of swords clashing against each other and heat radiating off fireballs is all you can see, feel and hear. And you really dont want to be here. Not at all. It was fun watching it from a far but it's a whole different story when you're standing between chaos and havoc that can potentially kill you. Dylan's in the middle observing it all and the looks on his face shows nothing but disappointment. And it's something you can agree with. What even are these so called worriers doing? Although today you were told to watch and observe, you've noticed how their positions and stances were weak. Again. You so it the first time when you were with Yvon sitting up there at the bleachers gazing down, but now that you're here, it's clear as day where they're going room. You've been standing at the side, where theres a bench. And for the past hour of just watching and judging, you've missed gett
Dinner time had passed by in a snap for some reason and as soon as Yvon opens the door to your room and ushers you in, she begins pacing around like a person in so much stress. Even from a distant, you can practically see the mess of thoughts swirling inside her mind right now. Whatever she's thinking about, you have a feeling it has something to do with why she had Aziel pinned down to the ground moments ago. There's a hint of sympathy you felt for the person after seeing him in that situation. Although he could have easily swipe Yvon off of him, he chose go stay still and let her have her way. Throughout dinner time, the latter had remained quiet. Dyan however was the total opposite. He went on talking about the activities he accomplished today and it looked like it was a usual thing for him. You settle on your bed, keeping your gaze planted on the pacing girl. If this was a comic book, there would he a ginormous question mark floating on top of your head. You wonder what's got he
You woke up an hour later. So as you pull yourself up a bit, the sight of the moon comes into display from the window. With squinted eyes, you drag your gaze around the room like you're searching for something. But in reality, you're really not. Suddenly, your body feels light. Which is a good thing. You groan a little, trying to pull all of your consciousness up into the surface. It feels like you've had enough rest already. With fists planted above the bed, you haul yourself up until you're sitting up. Your hair's a mess and you think there's a patch of dried saliva beside your lips. Now that's disgusting. Either way, there's a bathroom for a reason. Yvon brought you some clothes to use. Might as well put them all into good use. Extending your arms, you let out a little groan as you stretch. After long hours spent on walking around, that's one of the best sleep you've ever had in your life. Using your fingers, you drag the stray strands of your hair away and slide out of the mattr
" I swear to god if I have to look at another flight ofbstaires again I will lose it." For the past ten minutes, you've been complaining non stop. You dont think you can take this anymore. You feel like dying. You feel like you could sleep for five days straight without waking up.The hallway of the castle seem so peaceful. A total contrast to what your feeling inside. After that hectic walk, you had to rely on Yvon for support since you felt like your legs could snap off at any minute. And that's saying something given what you really are. But you guess even your alter couldn't help you out on this one.You think you also ran out of air for a second there.Yvon out of all people should know what physical activities does to you. She should know how they're the one thing you despise. You just didnt really like them. As a matter of fact, she should know that they're a taboo to you. It's what ended you up here in the first place after all. Because you couldn
