Chapter 4: I’ll make you want me  

“Then date me.”  

Theressa at the moment keeps on pleading the floor to crack open and swallow her whole right now. She didn’t expect the loud music to stop just in time.

On the other hand, Juanjo is very speechless with the woman right in front of her. I have heard a lot of good things and feedbacks about this woman but she is nothing near on anything that I heard. I guess rumors can’t really be trusted, the man said to himself. The man just shrugged it off and immediately left the venue.

Theressa who was left at the most awkward moment of her life couldn’t bear the embarrassment anymore so she left right after the man.

Soon, with the two main important persons in the party leaving, the party immediately ended.

The next morning, Theressa as always is the talk of the whole company. But unlike other normal days of complaints, hatred, and jealousy, this day instead is a field with bets.

“Ma’am the whole team is waiting for you in the conference room.” Theressa came back to her senses. “Oh I forgot about the time, thank you Chessie.” She immediately went to the room and tried to forget about what she did last night. It’s now or never Theressa she said to herself.

No matter what it’ll cause me, I never let you go again Juan.

As soon as she entered the room, everyone greeted her including the man with a pair of emerald eyes. She gestured then to sit down. As soon as she entered the room, the meeting immediately started.  Not wanting to mess up, Theressa set aside all her personal feelings and went back to her old self, for the sake of planning the project. This project is very important to the company as well as to Theressa because she knows that failure will cause her position.

“The proposal is fine but there’s always room for improvement. Please make it better and submit it to my office after three days. That’s all, the meeting adjourned.”  When the meeting ended, the team immediately left the room leaving the most awkward people inside.

Theressa once again looked at the man. He really is the one she’s been looking for. Last night was like a dream. “Have you considered what I told you last night?” She was the one the broke the silence first.

“I’m sorry to break it with you Ms. Sy but, if you want to date me you have to wait in line.” He smirked. “There are tons of ladies in who are willing to wait months just to have a glimpse of me. I’m sure their hearts will be broken if they will know I let someone cut in line.” Juanjo winked at her and stood up.

“Fine if you don’t want to then I will find a way for myself. I’ll make you want me. I don’t need your approval anyway.” She said and left the room. Juanjo was left speechless and mouth a gap.

For the whole week, the head of the engineering project and the Iron lady become the hottest topic. Theressa was branded as a mad dog. She has been tailing Juanjo ever since and made multiple moves just to woo the man.

“I can’t believe it, our Iron lady was kicked out of Mr. Manolo’s office awhile ago.”

“Dude she’s crazy! She even entered the comfort room for men just to talk to Mr. Manolo.”

“That’s not even close to what I saw man, I saw her removing her clothes in front of Mr. Manolo.”

Theressa regretted peeping outside her office. “W-when did I ever remove my c-clothes in front of him Chessie?!” She stuttered.

“Ma’am maybe they saw you removing your coat when Mr. Manolo poured his coffee on you in his office.” Chessie fixed the papers in front of her and left.

That damned man why is it so hard to get near him? I have tried everything I know in picking a man for the past few days but nothing worked.   Good thing I brought a bento box with me right now. I think I should share it with him. Hmp! Juanjo I found you now, I can’t let you go away again.

Theressa immediately went to Juanjo’s office which is right next to hers. It was arranged that way for their convenience especially for emergencies.

“Hey I made you lunch, I hope my goodwill will touch your heart.”

The wink that Theressa gave made Juanjo shiver.  “Stop that already Ms. Sy, you wink like an Annabelle doll it's very creepy. And please don’t ever do that again, it’s making me shiver. So now please get out.” He pointed to the window using his ruler. "Go, jump there, and kill yourself."

“Hayst Juanjo, what did I tell you? I’m making you fall for me.” Theressa stubbornly sat on the chair right in front of him.

“Did I agree huh? Did I? Come on Ms. Sy even if you were the last woman on Earth I’d still prefer to be with the orangutans.”

Theressa went out of the office with defeat written all over her face again. Every time she goes inside, she’ll end up leaving looking like she aged another year.

“What will I do Chessie I really like him.” She slumps on her chair and played on her swivel chair. Ugghh life sucks.

“What about asking him for a date during weekends?” Her secretary said nonchalantly and stacked the paper works that her boss neglected for the past few days.
