Emma's body shook slightly as she nestled deeper into Hector's arms, her fragile act stirring a protective tenderness in him.

"Can we just stop looking for her?" she whispered, sounding scared. "I'm just so afraid..."

Was she really terrified I'd come back to hurt her—or more afraid that my death would bring her to justice?

Without hesitating, Hector assured her, "Alright, we'll stop looking for her. I won't let her come back and harm you."

Emma curled up in his embrace, letting out a cautious sigh of relief. But it had never been Hector who wanted to find me in the first place.

Knowing he'd always side with Emma, Yuna gave up hope of any help from him. Now, she only waited for confirmation of my phone's location—where I had last been. The next day, the station called her with an update.

Her fingers turned white as she gripped the phone, shock washing over her as she absorbed the news. It was chilling.
