Chapter 3

There was complete silence in the quiet and serene ward.

Jonas and Quentin were speechless for a while. They saw the disappointed look on Sienna’s face, and the both of them were in a daze as they suddenly recalled that it was Clara who had suddenly screamed and fell. It seemed as though Sienna really had not done anything.

Had they wrongly accused her?

“It hurts so much.” When Clara saw the cold atmosphere, she cried and shouted, “Jonas, Quentin, it hurts so much. Sob... Sob...”

This time, her tears were genuine.

She was unaware of what that b*tch, Sienna, had done to her. She was still feeling numb all over, as if there were needles pricking her, and the pain was unbearable!

When Clara was crying and shouting, Sienna looked at her arm. The bright red slap mark was still fresh.

After that, she raised her hand and gave Clara a hard slap across her cheek.

Slap!

Clara fell to the ground again after she was hit.

Sienna said casually with a smile, “Here, I’m giving it back to you.”

Who in the capital city was unaware that Sienna was a vengeful person?

Quentin was the first to come back to his senses. He lost control immediately and burst into a fit of rage. “Sienna, that's too much!”

“Quentin... It really hurts. Sob... Sob...” Clara burst into tears as she sobbed weakly and aggrievedly.

“Clara, don’t be afraid. I’ll take you to the doctor right now!”

Before he left, he turned back to look at Sienna, who was on the hospital bed, as he made a stern remark. “Since you already witnessed everything yesterday, then I will tell you truthfully that the person that I love is Clara! As for our engagement, I’m calling it off regardless of whether you agree or not!”

The door of the ward was slammed shut.

Jonas also followed them and left. Before he left, he did not forget to say, “Quentin and Clara love each other. They are a perfect match. You will only embarrass and make a fool out of yourself if you continue to hold on to him!”

Embarrass herself?

Sienna sat on the hospital bed and smiled lightly when she heard this.

However, the emotions that belonged to the original owner of this body—sadness, and self-pity—gushed from the bottom of her heart, devouring her slowly.

This engagement was witnessed by the elders from both sides of their family. It was also Lord Kane who had written the marriage contract himself.

The words written on the marriage contract were still fresh in Sienna’s mind.

‘A contract for the union of marriage between a man and a woman—a covenant for life or death.’

It was just a joke now!

Sienna stroked her chest lightly and sighed. “A man like that is not worth it. Plus, there is also more to this world than just the affection between a man and woman.”

She, too, had not avenged a blood feud, and the grievances of her whole family had not been cleared. The capital city was so big, and all the forces were intertwined. If she wanted to achieve her goals, she had to maintain a low profile and secretly develop her own strength.

Sienna took a deep breath, lifted the quilt, and got out of bed.

In the corner, neither one of the two nurses dared to take the initiative to step forward after witnessing her ‘valor’ just now. However, they were devoid of any sensation of awe, and they were still contemptuous.

In their opinion, she was not important and could be trampled on at will!

People were always flattering those in power and trampling on the weaker ones.

But she would return to the top again one day!

Sienna did not look left or right as she walked out of the ward directly.

When she was walking through the corridor, she walked past one of the deluxe wards unintentionally and saw many of her acquaintances crowding inside. Her own father, Keegan, her brother, Jonas, and also her fiancé, Quentin, were all part of this.

They were all gathered around Clara’s bed as they kept a close eye on her while the doctor examined her. Everyone tried their best to lift Clara’s spirits and make her laugh, give her comfort, and take care of her in order to help her relax.

Sure enough, those who spoke up or complained were usually heard.

The corners of Sienna’s mouth twitched slightly, but she did not stop.

Soon, she came to the entrance of the hospital.

Sienna became aware of a problem when she was waiting for a taxi by the roadside.

She was still dressed in her hospital gown. So, no car would stop in front of her as they assumed that she did not have the necessary funds for the cab fare.

She could not possibly turn back again...

Thinking that, Sienna frowned slightly.

Under the shade of a tree not too far away, a man in the back seat of a black luxury car casually glanced out the window and saw Sienna, who was by the roadside.

The young girl had a slim figure, and the wide hospital gown was too large for her. Her collarbone was obvious; she had fair skin, and her slender and long neck was particularly beautiful.

The girl’s beautiful face was even more exquisite and flawless. She had bright eyes and a vivid expression on her face. She had long black hair that reached her waist and danced gently in the wind. Her beauty was surreal, like a goddess who had wandered into this world.

This was particularly so because her pair of eyes, which were as bright and clear as glass, exuded an aura of self-confidence that was unreal. It was captivating and unforgettable.

She was extremely graceful and charming.

The man’s fingertips paused momentarily, and an odd expression flashed across his dark and sharp eyes.

It was too similar.

He locked his gaze firmly on Sienna’s figure, as if he was looking for something.

When Kai, who was seated in the driver’s seat, turned around, he noticed that his master was staring at a certain place, and lost in thought.

It was really strange. What in the world could cause his master to look so intensely and act out of character?

Kai followed his master’s line of sight and quickly spotted Sienna, who could not get a taxi at the side of the road.

There were no other explanations—Sienna's appearance was the only factor. She might be dressed in a discrete hospital gown, but it was impossible to overlook her natural beauty.

Kai took a deep breath and uttered, “Master Harry, you’re not looking at that mute, are you? She is Sienna Lang, Keegan Lang’s youngest daughter. Everyone in Isonbert knows that she's awful. She is mean, aloof, and unpleasant. She always bullies her adopted sister, Clara Jenning!”

“Sienna Lang?” Harry Scott echoed these two words lightly. His low and pleasant voice sounded extraordinarily pleasant and seemingly vague, as if there was a hidden meaning within it.

Just as Kai was about to nod, he heard Harry saying calmly, “Drive over.”

Drive over?

The youngest daughter of the Lang family was poor in character, but he still wanted to go there?

Kai was confused, but he did not dare to disobey the order at all.

The luxury car slowly drove over.

It stopped right in front of Sienna.

Sienna was slightly stunned for a moment when she saw the car door open automatically. There was a tall and elegant figure seated in the back seat.

The man's motions were haughty and noble, and his back looked straight as a pine tree from the side.

He was comparable to a god who had descended to earth and could not be approached but could only be observed from afar.

Sienna continued looking, and the man slowly turned his head.

What caught Sienna’s attention was the man’s extremely handsome appearance.

The man had picturesque brows, an exquisite face, and a pair of charming eyes that seemed to hold profound affection, making others blush and feel nervous. However, upon closer inspection, the look in his eyes was as deep as a pool of still water, and it was incredibly terrifying.

A trace of surprise flashed across Sienna’s eyes because she had seen many people before, but she had never felt this way about anyone. He was like a god who was so dazzling that she could not even look at him directly.

This man was exquisite—perfect and flawless!

However, Sienna frowned.

This man’s eyes were fixed on her. It was unfathomable and, if anything, there appeared to be strong aggressiveness and scrutiny in his eyes.

Sienna’s face was slightly cold as she gazed back at him without hesitation. “Excuse me. Are you done staring?”

Kai, who was seated in the driver’s seat, was in disbelief. He was so shocked that his jaw was about to drop.

This mute actually dared to talk to his master like this?

But what was even more shocking was that…

His master did not seem to be angry at all!

Harry curled his lips and gestured toward Sienna. “Get in the car. I’ll give you a lift.”
