I walked out to the garden to see the tall red head, smiling; I called out to him, “Phoenix Mackenzie!” He turned to face me with the biggest smile on his face as he pulled me into a hug, “I can’t believe you’re home! How was the trip to Scotland?” I asked as we sat on the bench looking over the garden, his face beamed with joy,

“It was incredible! Father took me to Inverness which was absolutely gorgeous; we went to other places as well, even managed to find my two hundred year old grandmothers’ grave. It was unmarked so it was pretty difficult, but we found it nonetheless.” He told me, I smiled and grabbed his hands. We were close when we were younger, but then his father took him away to practice his magic in their homeland, Scotland. Phoenix and I were devastated, but after he left, Mom and Dad managed to talk my Aunts into moving here with Amber. That was ten years ago.

“I’m glad it was a pleasant trip, just wish it didn’t take you away for so long.” I admitted, his face flush; I couldn’t help but notice all of the differences in him since we last saw each other. He was a lot taller now, perhaps nearly six foot, his red hair was messy and those blue eyes I used to tease him about, just as crystal clear as I remember,

“What about you, little hybrid, you’ve grown.” He said to me, acknowledging my changes, “You’re not as skinny as I remember.” I punched him playfully which made him laugh, “What have you been up to?” I placed my hands on my knees and looking over the garden,

“Nothing really,” I told him, “Amber and I have been working on dance routines and then there’s the ball coming up.” I sighed,

“What is it?” Phoenix asked me, I looked at him,

“I don’t know,” I answered, “I thought we could pick up where we left off, I suppose. I didn’t expect so much to change.” He gave me a smile,

“Selene, we were six when I left, surely you didn’t think that we’d go back to being six year old children again, did you?” I got up and leaned against the pillar,

“Of course not, I just,” I was so scared to admit that I had a crush on him all those years ago, “Nothing, forget it.” I looked at my watch and noticed what time it was, “Sun will be up soon, I should head in.” Phoenix stood,

“Selene,” I put my hand up,

“Bye Phoenix.” I then went back inside, taking a plate of food to my room.

I sat there, thinking about my reunion with Phoenix; he had grown to be so handsome. I went into my bathroom and took the coldest shower I could stand, but the thoughts of him rang in my mind. I stood there, letting the cool water run down my body before washing. After I was done, I stepped out and began drying off. Wrapping my towel tightly around my body before entering my room. It was already becoming light out so I rushed over to the curtains and shut them tightly, then I hurried off to my closet and got dressed. Climbing into bed, I laid down, thinking about everything that’s happened today as I drifted off to sleep.

I opened my eyes and saw hooded figures standing around me, I looked around, they formed a circle around me; I looked down to see I was standing in the middle of a wiccans circle. They were chanting something, but I didn’t understand what they were saying, “What’s going on?” I asked, but no one answered me. The circle began to glow and shot up, engulfing me in its light.

I awoke with a start, sweat pouring down my face; what was all that mess about, I wondered to myself. I shook off the feeling as I shoved my blankets off of me. I stood up and stretched, shifting my weight to either side as I went over to my desk and began to write. Ever since I was a little girl, I’d write down every dream I ever had, whether it was terrifying, confusing, or even sexual. After writing everything down, I looked at the clock, it was only six o’clock in the evening. Clearly not going back to sleep, I start getting ready for the day. It’s Thursday, which means that the ball is only two days away; since we haven’t had a ball in a while, my mother wanted me to take a few classical dance lessons; especially since Amber and I are into more modern forms of dancing rather than the traditional. I slip on a red crop top as well as my high waisted, light washed jeans along with my combat boots. Wanting to look cute, I put my hair in pigtail braids and brushed my teeth before putting on a bit of makeup. As I came out of the bathroom, Amber burst through the door and set me on the bed, “Phoenix is back?” She asks, I nod, “What did he say?”

“Nothing really, we talked about his trip and that’s about it.” I told her, though she didn’t believe me for even a second,

“So, you’re telling me, the entire time the two of you were sitting in the garden, alone, you weren’t thinking about him attacking your neck and having his way with you?” I scoffed at her question as my face flushed,

“Of course not!” I exclaimed, “We haven’t seen each other in years, why would I think of him like that?” I asked, she shrugged, “And for the record, he wouldn’t have his way with me, in fact, I’m pretty sure it would be the opposite.” Amber didn’t hold back her laughter at my statement which earned her a ‘go to hell’ look. There was a slight knock on the door and then it opened, Mom entered the room with a big smile on her face,

“Your uncles, aunts, and cousins are here.” She told me happily, “Come on, they’re waiting for us.” I nod and the three of us head downstairs.

I haven’t seen my cousins in a while; Mom walked in front of me and Amber, as we went down the stairs, a tension went through my body, causing me to stop in my tracks. Amber put her hand on my shoulder, “You okay?” She whispered, I snapped out of it almost as quickly as I went in and smiled,

“Yes, I’m fine.” I whispered back as we caught up with my mother. I could hear the laughter of my uncles and saw they were talking to my father. Mom wrapped her arm around his waist and he kissed the top of her head. I hugged all four of my uncles before turning to my cousin, but one stared at Amber, “Chris, you okay?” I asked, he ignored my question as he took Amber’s hand and kissed it gently. I looked at everyone else to see if they knew what was going on but they just watched in awe. Amber looked almost as confused but her face flushed, clearly getting flustered from the sudden notion from Chris.

“What’s your name?” He asked her,

“Amber, Amber Elizabeth Serkan.” She told him,

“That’s beautiful.” He told her, “I’m Christopher Koray Alcmene, eldest son of Alpha Jackson Alcmene.” I went over to my mom and nudged her,

“What’s going on?” I asked, she smiled,

“Amber is Christopher’s mate.” She stated, I raised an eyebrow,

“How? Aren’t they cousins?” I asked, she giggled and shook her head,

“They’re not actually cousins, Selene. They are both your cousins, but they’re not actually related to each other.” I nodded,

“How come I haven’t found my mate yet? I’m nineteen, shouldn’t I have found him by now?” I asked her, she shrugged,

“Perhaps you haven’t met him yet.” She told me, “Just be patient, Selene, it’ll happen at some point.” We watched them flirt for a few minutes until everyone carried on with their own conversations.

I was talking to my younger cousins when someone tapped my shoulder, I turned to see Phoenix standing behind me, “Phoenix, what are you doing here?” I asked,

“Your father invited me over to discuss the alliance in my fathers’ place.” He explained, “Dad had an emergency in Salem, so he trusted me until he returned.” I nodded, we saw Amber and Chris talking and flirting with each other, “I see Amber is enjoying herself.” I smirked, placing my hands on my hips,

“They’re mates.” I told him; Phoenix turned his attention back to me, clearly surprised,

“Well then, okay.” He thought for a moment, “Do you have a mate?” I was curious by his question, but answered honestly,

“No, I don’t.” He nodded his head lightly at my answer, then dad came over to us,

“Phoenix, you look well.” Dad told him, “Are you ready to discuss the alliance?” Phoenix nodded,

“Thank you, your majesty, and yes, I am.” He smiled at me as he followed my father to the office.

I was normally not scared of vampires, but this was the king of the vampires, so I was nervous. I waited for him to say something, out of respect for his rank. He was looking over some papers before turning his attention back to me, folding his hands on top of his desk as he stared me down; I could feel a small bead of sweat roll down my face, “Phoenix,” He started, I perked up immediately, “the arrangement your father and I have concerns you and my daughter.” I tensed, “What do you mean, your majesty?” I asked, “Nick, please.” I nodded, “And what I mean is, your father and I think it might be best to join us, like the vampires and werewolves.” My heart was beating fast as the thought of what he’d say next ran through my brai

I stepped into my bedroom and went straight for the shower. After I dropped Selene off at her room I came straight home to rest. That beautiful hybrid has my nerves and thoughts all over the place and it drives me crazy, the good kind mostly but every now and again the bad kind. I stood in the shower letting the water run down my body, washing away almost every stressful thing from my mind. I washed up and got out. Once I had some pants on, I started looking for the nicest suit I owned for the ball tomorrow night; I’m Selene’s fiance and that means that I need to make a good impression, which I planned to do. I’m not about to embarrass her. Picking a traditional black suit, I placed it on the hook on the outside of my closet and grabbed a pair of dress shoes, placed them in the chair right next to the closet, then climbed into bed and dozed off thinking about Selene. I woke up around six when my father kn

I swear to you, that woman will pay for what she’s done.” I nodded my head, “Now then, if you’re ready, I’m going to warp us to the house with the others, okay?” I nodded; Phoenix pulled me up and we warped to the meeting place. We walked up the stairs, but Phoenix stopped, “I’m going to place a protection charm around the house, I’ll be a few minutes. Go on in and I’ll be right there.” I nodded and went inside the house. I looked around the old house, the floors creaking with every step. “Amber?” I whispered, “Chris?”

I opened the door to see Selene sleeping; she’s been through so much in one day, we all have. There was a small tap on my shoulder, turning my head, I saw Amber standing behind me; closing the door quietly, I turned to talk to her, “We’re ready to go.” She said then looked at the door, “How is she?” I looked at the door then turned back to Amber, “She’s strong, but she’s gone through so much so fast. I don’t remember her being like this when we were children; back then, she was so skittish, it was so cute.” Amber smiled lightly, “Phoenix, she’s grown up, she’s not that same little girl anymore.” I nodded, I knew she was right, but that’s what worried me. Selene is strong, I knew that, but she’s the same strong my mother was and even that much strength can’t help you during the trying times; for my mother, it was when she delivered my sister, they

It was a simple dress, similar to my dress at the ball but was even more elegant and beautiful, “It’s perfect.” I said, “We have a dress for you too, Amber.” Fiona said as she handed it to her, “Thank you, it’s lovely.” Amber told them, “I need to get her ready and t

We seek refuge and an audience with his grace.” The guard gave us a look then turned to one of the other guards, they spoke for a minute and then, “Alright, someone will meet you at the door to escort you to Lord Martens.” I nodded, “Thank you.” I told him as the gates opened and we all went inside. Phoenix opened the door and coughed from the smoke, “Selene, what are you doing?” He coughed out, I looked at him from my spot on the bed; when the smoke cleared, Phoenix stared at me then started laughing, “What?” I asked, Phoenix just continued laughing, “What?” He laughed more as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to the bathroom and turned me to the mirror. When I saw what he was laughing about I crossed my arms and glared at him, which just made Phoenix laugh harder, “Okay, I get it.” He went over to the shower and turned it on, “Let’s get you cleaned up.” He said as he started stripping my clothes off, one by one. My children have taken up responsibilities all across our kingdom and are more than excited to bring our people closer together; especially Apollo and Artemis. That’s all they ever want to do and they have declared that instead of marrying and only one of them assuming the throne after Phoenix and I retire, that they would rule as they do everything else, together. I could not be more proud of all of them, believe me, I’ve tried. I raised up and saw that Phoenix was still fast asleep; instead of doing the nice thing and letting him rest, I did the evil thing and started kissing his neck. His hands met my waist and he groaned. I couldn’t help myself, I started nibbling the skin which made his grip tighten; soon enough I felt him poking my inner thigh and I smirked. After getting his hands off my hips, I slid do

Mara was destroyed but Selene was in critical condition. Everyone had warned her that the spell was too dangerous, but she was determined to win the war, even if it meant risking her life to save ours. Amber said that out of over two thousand soldiers, only three hundred were injured or killed. I was upset that we lost any, but I was happy that we were able to save so many more. After the spell was cast, Selene plummeted to the ground; I managed to catch her before she hit, but she was unconscious and barely breathing. Even after being beaten nearly to death, she still managed to cast the spell that ended the battle. I sat beside her bed and held her hand, praying that she would wake up. My uncle and cousin brought the children now that it was safe for them; they’d sit with me and watch their mother. All three of the girls would start balling their eyes out when Selene wouldn’t answer them but she couldn’t help it. Her heartbeat was slow and there was

This is it, I thought. Today is the day we dethrone my grandmother. I watched out the window as the Silvermoon Pack warriors trained; other Alphas from different packs and their warriors came to help. I’m terrified, but I’m trying to hide it. But it’s hard to hide things from my husband. Phoenix came up behind me and hugged me tightly, “It’s going to be okay, Selene.” He told me; his attempts to be convincing weren’t doing any good. I simply smiled and turned so I could look into his eyes, “Yes, it is.” I said before turning my attention back to the window. Phoenix kissed my shoulder then asked, “What is it?” I sighed and turned around to face him completely, “So many of us…” my voice cracked, “This is the last time most of us will be together.” I told him, “So many of us might not be here when this is over

I stared at Selene as she slept. The poor thing has been so stressed out that she needed to rest. The nightmares were getting worse and the twins were having a tough time sleeping through the night. Coaxing the twins back to sleep, I placed them in the same crib together which seemed to work. Selene shifted in the bed, strands of her hair fell over her face; I couldn’t help but smile at her. Leaning towards her, I moved the hairs from her face and stroked her soft skin. Training was killing her, but Selene, my beautiful wife, she’s so strong. I know that no matter what happens to me, to Amber, to any of us, Selene will never stop fighting for what’s right. I sat back to admire her beauty but then she shot up, “Hey, hey,” I said softly, gaining her attention, “it’s okay, you’re okay.” She sighed softly,“What’s wrong?” She asked, &ldquo

Five weeks. Five weeks since I became a mother. The warriors from Packs all around the world were offering support alongside Alphas, witch covens offered support and even some of the vampire elders were on my side and had hundreds behind them awaiting my orders. Phoenix was playing with the babies while I went over things for the meeting in my head, what didn’t help was the adorable interruption of Artemis crawling over to me and reaching for me. I bent down and picked her up and snuggled her; Phoenix saw it as an opportunity to take a photo of the precious moment. “It’s hard to believe the twins are already crawling.” He told me, I smiled and nodded, “I know. Mom had told me that I hit many stages earlier than other infants just a few weeks after my birth.” I booped Artemis’s nose and she giggled, “They’re just like their momma.” I cooed, which earned me a small smile and chuckle from Phoenix,

I sat in the living area by the fireplace rubbing my already big belly. I was still trying to wrap my head around having five children. Phoenix assures me that we can handle it, but I’m not as confident as he is; I won’t even have my mother or uncles here to help me, especially since there were five of them. It would be nice if I could talk to someone that has or even had a big family. I sat there contemplating when Amber walked in with the biggest smile on her face, I chuckled, “You just got off the phone with Christopher, didn’t you?” Her smile only grew as she nodded her head profusely, “He wishes you the best and would like to know the plan when you finally figure that out.” She stated, I only stared at my stomach before giving her a weak smile, “Okay, I will.” I told her, “Oh, and one more thing…

What do you expect?” Amber and I laughed, “But seriously,” I said as I turned my attention to Amber, “She’s stubborn. All Selene wants to do now is train, and I’m so worried that…” I didn’t even have to finish my sentence before Amber pulled me into a hug, “Selene and that baby will be fine.” She assured me, I smiled and embraced her. “Thanks, Amber.” Selene ran over to us, a bit out of breath; we both looked up at her, “Selene, honey, you shouldn’t

The moment my lips touched Selene’s I could feel my jeans getting tighter as our kiss got more heated. After a moment, we pulled away, “Phoenix, the doctor said I was poisoned, maybe we shouldn’t.” He kissed me once more, “I asked him about it,” I told her, “he said that it would be safe for us. And he even said that the poison could have caused the low drive.” The second I got that out, I was tackled to the bed. Selene attacked my neck with kisses as she went down my body. “Selene…” before I could say anything she kissed my lips hungrily. Her hands unbuttoning my pants, “I want you.” She muttered, “I need you.” It was those words, those three little words that turned me into an animal.
