Today was the day I started my job as a psychologist at the new asylum. I have been looking forward to doing this ever since I found out about me being transferred to it. As I followed the directions to the place, I also had Erika keeping me company as well.
“ I wonder what Dr. Martin looks like.” She said to me as I followed the GPS direction.
“ He’s definitely not ugly." I admitted to her, smiling because of the gasping sound she made into the phone.
“ You met him?!”
I laughed into the phone and looked around my area. It was nothing, but a bunch of trees. Confused, I looked at the screen on my phone, and the GPS was telling me to continue up ahead.
“ Erika, let me call you back.” I said into the phone.
“ Alright, girl.” She said, and hung up.
I plugged my phone into the speaker and placed it in the cup holder. I continued to drive straight, following my GPS’s route.
“ Keep straight for five and a half miles.” My GPS told me.
I swore yesterday, I had to go a different route, and it was a lot faster. I don’t know what was going on, but I just followed the directions that the GPS provided me with. I looked around, hoping to see a car or people, but there was nobody there. This area was so deserted, and it was giving me the creeps. I sighed, praying to myself that there will be at least someone that I will run into while I was on this road. However, my prayer was not answered. When I drove further down the road, my GPS began to act up. When I picked up my phone, the GPS stated that it lost the route.
“ What the hell?” I whispered softly to myself.
I tried to force close the app to my GPS, but a loud noise startled me from my phone. Panicking, I restarted my phone as fast as I could. The phone finally turned off, and I sighed with relief. That shit scared the hell out of me. However, that was not the terrifying part. Driving further into an unknown area, a pop sound came from the car. I ended up getting a flat tire. I gasped as I tried to control the car as best as I could. Pulling up to the right side of the road, I turned the car off and sat there in the driver seat, trying to catch my breath. Today was not my fucking day.
“ Holy shit!” I shouted, pressing my hand against my chest.
Boy, my heart was beating real fast. I never had a flat tire before, so this happening to me now was a very terrifying experience. Plus, the way the car was swerving, didn’t make it any better. I hopped out the car and walked to the trunk part. Dad told me that he put a spare tire in the back of the car before he had the car shipped out here. I opened the trunk door and looked under the rug that was placed in the back. A smile had formed on my face when I saw the tire and the tools in the back.
But, of course, my happiness was killed when I reminded myself that I have never changed a flat tire.
“ Just great.” I slammed the trunk door and was on my way back to the driver’s seat when something caught my eye. I see why I caught a flat. Sticking out of my tire was a metal rod. This is something that wouldn’t bother me because I’m used to seeing people drop dumb shit on the road. However, the way the metal rod was inserted through my tire looked like someone did it on purpose. Looking around, I didn’t see anybody that could’ve done this.
My eyes did catch a sign, read “the Bayou." I walked over to the sign and looked around once before heading in. As I followed the path, I could not help, but to feel uncomfortable. The swampy area gave me the chills. Like I was in a horror movie.
The area was wet. Every step I took, I was able to hear and even feel the squishy grass and soil beneath me. It made me cringe. It even made me stop and turn back around. I needed to leave, anyways. This was an unfamiliar area in my eyes. As I was turning around, I got the biggest scare of my life. A loud scream escaped my mouth before I quickly covered it with both of my hands. Standing behind me was a tall male with big golden-brown eyes. I backed away from him immediately, my mouth still covered. But each time I would step back, he would come forward.
“ Please don’t do that.” I pleaded removing my hands from over my mouth and avoiding eye contact with him.
“ What the hell are you doing here?!” He shouted, causing me to jump.
“ I… I.” I stuttered badly and I never done that in front of any guy before.
“ Well?” He asked, rushing me to answer.
I heard more footsteps coming, and I turned to see a group of tall individuals surrounding me. This was making me so uncomfortable, especially when another guy approached me.
“ You shouldn’t be here!” He shouted at me as well. “ This place is off-limits!”
“ I.. I didn’t know.” ,” I whispered. “ I never meant to come here.”
“ Now, you know.” He said with an attitude. “ Now leave before I force you out.”
I didn’t budge quick enough because he got closer to me and bent down so his eyes could meet mine. I swear his eyes were gorgeous, but other than that, he was scary.
“ NOW!!!!” He shouted, and I did exactly that.
I tried to go back to the path I came from, but the path was blocked off by a familiar face. I sighed with relief when I recognized Janelle, Erika’s boss.
“ Still an asshole, James?” Janelle asked. “ Did you ask her why she was here, or you don’t care?”
“ I don’t fucking care!” James growled at her.
If she didn’t jump, I sure as hell did. His voice had a lot of bass in it, and it boomed every time he shouted.
“ Why are you here?” Janelle turned her attention back to me.
“ My GPS malfunctioned on me.” ,” I explained, still keeping my eye on this James person. “ I was on my way to the Bayou Asylum, the new place that just opened up.”
“ Everybody knows there’s no service here, girl.” James said, still glaring at me.
“ I’m not from here.” I told him. “ I’m from California.”
“I don’t give a damn where you are from.” James told me. “All I know is that you need to fucking go.”
“I can’t leave.” I announced. “ My car caught a flat.”
“You don’t know how to change a flat tire?” James asked.
“I’ll help you.” Janelle said, turning around to leave. “ Seth and Dominic, come with me.”
I followed Janelle back through the path that I took. The guys she called before she left passed me up and walked on the side of Janelle. As they walked ahead of me, I was trying to figure out where I heard the men's names from. The guy that I ran into first, pulled his hoodie over his and instantly I knew who he was, Seth included. They were the ones that were being harrassed by the cops at the bar. Dominic walked around the car while Seth opened the trunk door.
I walked around the car to where Dominic was and watched him. He was staring at the tire with the metal rod sticking out of it. He turned around and looked across the street. I followed his gaze and didn’t see anything but tall trees and bushes. When I turned my attention back to him, he was staring at me. His golden-brown eyes were so mesmerizing, I couldn’t help but to stare back at him. He made me really nervous, like a good nervous. I looked away as soon as I saw Seth appear. He dropped the tire next to Dominic along with the tools and looked at the flat tire, then his eyes adverted to mine.
“ Are you sure you don’t have enemies?” Seth asked me, his golden-brown eyes looking around the area like Dominic did.
“ I just moved out here.” I told them once more. “ I don’t know anybody out here.”
“ That’s not a regular flat tire, baby girl.” Seth told me. “ Someone wanted you to be stuck out here.”
Janelle walked over to where Seth and Dominic were and stood there with her arms crossed.
“ I think I might know why this happened to you.” Janelle stated. “ Whose car is this?”
“ Well, it was my father’s, but he gave it to me for keeps so I can have transportation back and forth from work.” I told her.
“ And who is your father?” She asked.
“ Um, Eric.”
“ Eric What?” Seth asked, eyes squinting at me.
“ Eric Moore.” I told him.
Dominic laughed, and I looked at him with confusion.
“ You’re a fucking Moore?” Seth asked, leaning against my car. “ Holy shit!”
“ Is there a problem?” I asked, getting nervous. “ How do you know my dad?”
“ You don’t look like him, though.” Janelle said.
“ I was going to say the same thing.” Dominic said.
Seth began working on my flat. Janelle stood there, staring at me.
“ I’m actually the adopted daughter of Eric Moore.” I announced to them.
“ Oh.” Janelle said, uncrossing her arms.
Seth handed her the damaged tire, and she took it with no problem. She went to the back of my car and placed it where the spare tire was located. She slammed the door shut and walked back to us.
“ So, I take it you don’t know about your daddy’s history?” Seth asked with sarcasm.
“ If you know, please enlighten me.” I told him. “ He never talks about his job.”
“ Well, you are the adopted daughter.” Dominic said, and Seth laughed while screwing the tire in place.
“ Stop being rude.” Janelle ordered.
Seth got up from the ground, lowered the car, and gathered all the tools up. He handed the tools to Dominic, and he left to put them up.
“ You’re all set.” Seth said, pointing to the tire.
“ Thank you so much.” I told them. “ I really appreciate it.”
“ No problem.” Seth said and walked off.
Janelle walked over to me, and I gave her a small smile.
“ Don’t come back over here.” She warned me, and I nodded.
“ Like I told you before, I didn’t mean to come here.” ,” I said.
“ I understand, but I’m letting you know.”
I nodded my head and walked to the front of my car. I watched her leave and opened the door to my car, only for it to get shut closed again by someone’s hand. I turned around and saw Dominic standing close to me. He pressed himself against me, and I was forced against the car door. Oh my gosh, he smelt so damn good like Irish Spring soap. He bent down a little bit to where his eyes matched mine, then he moved closer to my ear.
“ Don’t tell anybody about this place.” He whispered to me, sending chills down my spine as his lips pressed against my ear. “ Let me find out you did and they aren’t the ones you would have to worry about. Do you understand me?”
I felt his lips against my neck, sending chills down my spine. A soft moan escaped from my mouth, my body wanting more of him. He backed up and walked off, leaving me there, wanting more of his touch and his body being pressed against mines. I’ve never been this close to a guy like this before, but now that I have, it left me craving more of it. I wanted more from this Dominic guy.
I hopped in the car and checked my phone on that was still in the cup holder. This was my first day, and I was already late. This day can’t get any worse. I started my car and continued down the road until I was able to get service and the right GPS route.
❤️
“ An hour late on your first day.” Dr. Martin said, walking in front of me down the hall.
“ Please forgive me.” I apologized, following right behind him. “ I had car trouble, and I had to get someone to fix the flat.”
I could tell he was upset. I didn’t blame him, though. It was my fault that I was late. My dumb ass car catching a flat had to happen on this damn day.
“ I’ll make up for lost time.” I said, and he stopped in front of me.
“ I know you will.” He said, turning his attention to me. “ Because you were late, today you will work at night.”
Why did this not surprise me? I sighed before nodding my head, accepting the nighttime shift he just threw at me.
“ Yes, Dr. Martin.” I said, and he opened the door to the first room, which had the sign “Room A- Psychologist” on it. “ This is your office.”
He opened the door wide enough for me to go through, and then he followed right behind me. The room was covered in white paint, but that’s what I would expect when you’re doing a job like what I’m doing. There were beautiful pictures on the wall that made the room feel a little more home-like. I looked at the brown leather couch that they placed in here along with the brown coffee table. A brown leather chair was added as well. It sat on the opposite side of the couch and the coffee table. There was a desk against the window that had folders and other office supplies sitting on it.
“ We set everything up for you.” He told me as I walked around, admiring the whole room. “ We will be busy today, so I suggest you get started on those folders I left on the table for you. Each folder has patients’ information in it.”
I turned around to face him as he explained everything to me.
“ There will be ten patients coming in today. Since you are the only psychologist here, you will be swamped with work.”
“ I’ll definitely get started then.” I told him. “ Thank you so much.”
He nodded his head before exiting the room, closing the door right behind him. I headed over to the table and took a seat on the wooden chair that was placed in front of the desk. He made sure I had everything: pencils, pens and even notebooks.
“ Let’s do this.” I whispered to myself.
Picking up one of the folders, I began to read about the patients I will get to know.
A week has gone by, and nobody has seen that girl since she got her tire fixed. The only time she pops up is at the bar to visit Erika, but after that, she doesn’t exist. I wish I could say that about the crime here, though. Something happened out here in New Orleans. Something really bad happened, and it’s something I never thought would ever happen.I headed over to Janelle’s bar at 5pm. It was really crowded this time, and I thought there was a little small event going even though Janelle isn’t the type to do stuff like that. I walked into the bar, and everybody was on their phones, gossiping about something that happened last night at a local club called New Euphoria. New Euphoria is a club that I work at every Thursday to Friday morning. However, last night, I was released early for the same amount of money I got for both of the nights. As I go
I swear, I’ve never been this busy in my life. A week has only passed, and I am already exhausted from all the patients I’ve had to deal with. Atleast I’m not alone in this place. I made a new friend since I’ve been here. HerName was Cassie, and she’s a nurse here. She gives the patients their medicine atthe scheduled times, and when we are on break, we eat lunch together. She’staller than me, which is nothing new, since everybody in New Orleans seemsto be taller than me. She’s light skinned with thick black hair, and she’sPetite.I still talk to Erika when I see her at the bar. We conversate like oldtimes, but after that, I just head home to get ready for work the next day.Today was another working day at the Bayou Asylum. I was in my office, as usual, when Cassie busted in. She bent down and began to catch her breath, and Ijust looked at her like she was crazy.“
I hated this room, and I hated everybody that was in this place, especially that fucking girl. Why did I come here? This was such a fucking insult to me. Now, I beat Kravis and Ramirez are fucking laughing at me since now a Moore is in control of me. Once they took the chains and the metal mask off my face, they shoved my ass into this small ass room with nothing, but a window and a bed.I swear I was losing my mind up in there. That room was big enough for a small child. I’m a grown ass man, and I’m tall, so this was bothering me. My shoulders were almost touching the wall if I stood next to the bed.Speaking of the bed, that shit looked very uncomfortable, and I swear back pain was going to hit me one day if I constantly laid on it. The door to my room opened up, and five people came in, one of them was Dr. Martin and a nurse, the others were security guards.“ We need to get you cleaned up, and we need to take your pictures along with y
Dominic was giving me problems. I thought because we somewhat knew each other, he would at least open up to me. However, I was completely wrong. He just sat across from me, staring at the window, watching the rain hit the glass hard. I looked at my phone and noticed we have been sitting in silence for about thirty minutes straight. I only had two hours with each patient, so he was just letting precious time go to complete waste. I sighed and closed my notebook.-“ Dominic,” I said his name.He didn’t respond, he just stared out the window. I got up from the chair and walked in between the window and his view. He rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the table. I c
It was about 6pm when Dr. Martin came to my room with his damn bodyguards. They handcuffed me and guided me back to Dr. Moore’s office. I don’t know why she wanted to see me. I already gave her a hard time today by not talking. So, what more could she want? Dr. Martin opened the door, and the guards pulled me inside. Dr. Moore was standing there, looking over some papers when she looked up and seen me. The guards led me to the couch, and they forced me to sit down before they removed the handcuffs and headed out the room with Dr. Martin following them.“ How are you?” She asked me, and I just looked at her without saying a word. “ Dominic, I need you to talk to me.”“ For what?” I asked her, already starting to get irritated. “ I don’t have shit to say to you.”“ I’m trying to help you. Why are you so rude?”I licked my lips and turned away from her, looking towards the window. She took a seat across from me, and she continued to look
“ I heard you got a lot of visitors today,” I said as I sat across from Dominic.“ I guess.” He said nonchalantHe just stared at me, and I blushed before turning back to my notebook.“ What?” I asked him.“ You told them, didn’t you?” He asked, and I looked up at him with a smile forming on my face.“ Of course. Well, I only relayed the message to Erika, and she told them abo
I didn’t feel anything at all. She kissed me again and this time, I deepened it, but nothing happened. My heart didn’t increase or anything and that was weird to me. I thought she would be the one to get my heart pacing fast like Triniti did that one night. Damn it, speaking of Triniti. I looked around and saw her nowhere. I sighed and looked at Dr. Martin who was walking towards me and London. I pulled my arm from around her and got up. Dr. Martin leaned forward to where I would only hear what he had to say.“ That is prohibited here.” He whispered. “ I’ll let this go because you didn’t know, but don’t let it happen again.”I nodded my head and leaned forward. “ It will never happen again.” I said. “ It was a mistake that will never be made twice.”&
“You shouldn’t be in here.” This guy in a brown Armani suit, told me. “ This is between us. You can exit now.”“ I’m sorry, but when it comes to my patient being tortured in this backroom by people that I’m very suspicious about, it becomes my problem as well.” I told them.“ I know this girl.” James said, walking up to me. “ She popped up at our spot last week.”“ Hm.” The other guy said.“ I’m going to ask you to leave.” I told them and James just laughed.“ You can’t tell me to do anything.” James said, placing his face close to mines.“ Hold on, James.” The guy said, then looked over at me. “ I think we’re done here. We’ll come back if we need to.”James huffed at me and turned around. He walked over to Dominic once more and grabbed him by the ear.“ Remember his words.” He hissed at Dominic before pushing him down and walking over to the guy. I moved out the way and they walked past me. James looked me up
I could not control it at all. I just shifted completely, and I think it was because of the deep gash that I gotten from some of my ex- pack members. My screams grew as my bones began to take form of the wolf I have been longing to meet. My wolf was coming and there was no turning back now. I hollered from the waves of pain that came with my bones constantly breaking to make the new form. I dropped on all four and my screams were still the only one that I could hear. I dug my nails deep into the ground, begging for this slow and painful transformation to end.“ Dom!” Janelle shouted, running towards me.“ Don’t come near me!” My wolf’s voice shouted with enoug
James’ bite was painful. When he released me, he pushed me and I dropped to the ground hard. That fall must’ve triggered and awakening within the twins because I began feeling a lot of movement and those movements were worse than the bite. It was a pain like I was being torn apart from those two being inside of me. As I cried out in pain, I turned my head towards the bushes and my heart ached when I saw Dominic standing there, staring back at me. He had this expression that hurt me dear. An expression I never wanted to see on his face.“ Dominic.” I whispered his name and continued to flinch from the pain from the twins. He did not say anything to nobody, he just walked closer to James. James turned his back to me and stood there, his attention to Dominic with a huge smirk on his face.&
I knew he did something the way her scream sounded. Nathan’s body laid limp in front of me. I let some of his blood drip from my mouth onto his face before I proceeded to where James and Triniti was. I was still trying to wrap my head around that back there. We were just fighting and I bit him when he had me pinned down. Out of nowhere, he just started screaming, blood pouring from his mouth. A second later, he was just gone. What the hell was that bite I was gifted with? I got out of my thoughts and was about to proceed the search for Triniti and James, when my ear started ringing again. That fucking shit again, I thought to myself as I rubbed my ear. I tried to calm down, but for some reason I could not stop the ringing. It was getting louder and louder to the point I could not hear shit. It didn’t something it has never did before; it spreaded to the other ear. An unfamiliar pain came next
“You’re so naïve.” James said as he walked over to me with that same idiotic smile on his face. “You know your bastard of a baby daddy is not allowed over here. But yet, you seemed to think he was. How slow can you humans be?”Each time he would step closer to me, I would take a step back. My legs were killing me because of the twins, but I did not care. I made the biggest mistake of my life by coming here. He was right, how stupid was I? I should have known that text message wasn’t right. I knew it was too good to be true for Dominic to tell me he loved me. Placing my hands on my stomach, I could feel my tears streaming down my face.James, however, did not care. He glanced at me and just laughed.“You’re so evil.” I said, sniffling. “How cruel can you be? What do I have to do with the
I was feeling it. The energy that was coming from the moon. I never felt so good and I felt a lot stronger than I did before. Fighting with the new pack was awesome, especially now. I was able to put some of my strength to good use. Some of the guys noticed that I was using it and was trying to shift, but Seth and Dante stepped in.“So, it’s really the day.” Dante said. “This is only the beginning he told me. “The hard part is yet to come.”“How do you feel, though?” Michael asked, breathing hard.I looked at him and nodded my head. That energy had me really excited. It was like I was shot with adrenaline dart. I felt like I could just run for miles and miles. I felt like I could fight for hours as well. The night had just begun and I couldn’t wait to see what else it can do to me. I wa
I could not sleep because the next night, I was going to spend time with Dominic, the father of my child. I knew tonight was a special day, but that text message said that he wanted to meet up. So, I decided to rest for a little bit before I got up to start my day. There was a knock on the door and I looked to see who it was. Erika came in with Kilan. For some reason, Kilan would never come to me. I guess it was because one of the babies was a boy. As much as I wanted to hold him, he just was too clingy to Erika. They sat on the bed and I looked at them.“How does it feel to be a stepmom?” I asked her.“To be honest, I wish he was mine.” She told me.“Really?” She nodded her head, hugging Kilan close to her. He did not care, either. He held her close to
As I headed to the training area, I still could not get over the fact that she threw up like that. I always thought it was because of the kids. Never thought it would be because of my possible shift. I felt bad for knocking her up, but that was going to be the last time of me doing it. I did not want her going through that again. I walked over to where everybody was and saw that Dante and Seth had challenged them as soon as they got there.“Is she good?” Dante asked me as I got closer.“Yeah, but she’s not going to last much longer.” I told them. “Especially since tomorrow is that day.” Seth stated. “Once you shift, your baby will shift.”“Seeing how big she is, a C-section could be the best thing.” Mickey said.“You never know, she could be a fighter and push t
Kilan was so adorable with his green eyes and his golden brown afro. Seeing him made me want my kids even more. Erika was spending a lot of time with him and so have I. Seth was not ready for the single dad life, so Erika and I tried to help him out. Erika had more experience with kids than I did since she was the middle child in her family. She always helped her mom out with the kids whenever she was at work or going on business trips with her fellow coworkers. So, helping with Kilan was not a big deal at all. Plus, she got to spend time with Seth a lot those days.I had not been hungry these past few days. My due date was coming up soon and the kids had been taking up space inside of me to the point that I had no room to store food. Aunt Nancy had been monitoring me a lot closer than she before because of it. I had not been hanging out with them, either. I ha
I finally got that shit, down packed. My fighting style improved and I’ve never felt so good about myself as I did that moment. I finally got to see how Dante and Seth hunted at night and of course, I was jealous. I would love to join them, but I cold not do shit in my human form. Dante and Seth gave it their everything when they fought me and I felt so damn good to finally be up there with them. My strength for a human has increased and so has my stamina.“That’s what I’m talking about.” Seth said to me after we finished up. “Dominic really did his shit.”“Like I said, it took a minute.” Dante said, crossing his arms. “But, we finally got it. The hunting part is something we’re going to have to do when he gets his wolf.”My mind turned back to the letter that I just gotten for Mr. Calligan. For him to challenge me is something, but it bothered me when he brought up my kids and Triniti. No way am I going to let him get to them. That was a
