Chapter 3

I cleared my throat and stared at these three, who were staring at me with curiosity evident in their eyes,

"Where am I?" I asked calmly, suppressing my panic which was rising inside me.

"You're in Atlantis," The woman answered with a pleasant smile on her face.

"Atlantis?" I whispered in confusion.

"I don't think it's safe to tell her anything now," I heard the guy standing beside her and turned my head to him. He was gazing at her with a straight face, that woman glanced at me before snapping her fingers.

"Adora!," She called, a woman dressed in a short white floral dress that reached her knees and walked towards us.

"Please take her to her room and take care of her needs," she said to the woman, who nodded her head and gestured to me to follow her. I glanced at them before following her. Where am I and who are these people? Oh god! What should I do now? I was panicking, my palms began to sweat as I was following her through the hallway which was lit up bright and looked like something like a royal palace that came right out of fantasy books, it made me more nervous and a bit scared.

"Here, this is your room," she said opening a door, I glanced at her before stepping inside. It looked like a royal bedroom, it had a queen-size bed, a big and wide mirror was placed on the right side of the bed to the wall and besides that had a walk-in closet. There was a sitting area near the big ceiling windows. It was beautiful with the white and purple color coordination.

I snapped back from it and turned back to the woman who was staring at me with curiosity evident on her face, "What's your name?" she asked with a curious look on her face.

"Diannah," I replied,

"Oh, so, you are her!" she said with a happy look and surprised look in her.

"Huh?" I glanced at her in confusion,

"My name is Adora, I'm king Gabriel's cousin," she said stepping towards me and extending her palm to me.

King Gabriel? Who's he? What's going on here?

"Hello," I said taking her hand,

"I'm so glad to meet you, Diannah," she said with a big smile on her face,

"Um... Why am I here? Can you... Can you please take me back home?” I asked,

Please say yes, please!

Hearing my request, her happy face turned into a sad one, "I'm so sorry but I can't do that!" she said,

"But why?" I asked with sadness washing over as I heard her.

"I'm sorry," she said and turned around,

"Hey, wait," I said desperately while walking towards her but she was fast. She quickly shut the door and locked it from outside, I tried to open the door but I couldn't.

"Open it, please," I yelled while banging on the door, but there was no response. I gave up and turned around, my eyes moved towards the bed and it was very welcoming to me. I felt so tired all of a sudden. I walked towards it and sat on the edge of it,

"Why did they bring me here?" I asked no one in particular. I laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling, a sigh escaped my lips and my eyes slowly started to close. I slowly slipped into a heavy slumber.

The rays of the sun were falling on my face; I grabbed the pillow beside me and tried to cover my face but it had already broken my sleep. I sighed before sitting up and pushing my hair away from my face, blinking my eyes, trying to adjust my vision.

Adora opened the door and walked inside pushing the trolley and holding a bag in her hands, "Good morning," she greeted walking towards me.

"Good morning" I simply replied,

"Here is your breakfast and clothes, please get ready and have your breakfast," she said while smiling at me,

"Gabriel asked you to meet him," she added and turned back,

Who is he? And why does he want to meet me?

"Wait," I said,

"Yes," she replied while turning her head to me,

"Why does he want me to meet him?" I asked nervously,

"I don't know," she shrugged and walked away.

Oh god! How should I get back home? Should I request him to send me back?

I walked into the royal bathroom and took a relaxing slow shower, got dressed in the clothes she brought me. It includes underwear and everything I needed. I was wearing a lace pink knee-length casual dress, it was beautiful and perfectly fitted me, made me wonder how did she know my size and all. I had my breakfast and waited for Adora, she showed up after a few seconds and asked me to follow her, I quietly did.

I have to request him and do anything that's needed to make him send me back! You can do this, Diannah! Be strong!

She opened the door for me, "Please," she said, her voice brought me back from my thoughts and I blinked at her in confusion. I glanced at the opened door,

"Oh! Okay," I said and walked inside slowly.

As I walked, my eyes widened looking at the huge room. It was a big study room, on one side had few bookshelves filled with books beside it had big ceiling windows. The desk and every single piece of furniture looked so rich and shiny.

I turned to my right and saw a tall figure sitting comfortably on the sofa and reading a book, as my eyes slowly moved to his face, the realization hit me hard.

It was him! He's the king?

I kept staring at him as he didn't acknowledge my presence yet. I swallowed hard as my eyes ran down to his body and the way he was sitting and reading the book. The aura around him screamed dominance and some kind of power which makes every single person standing near him bend their heads and bow down to him, I could sense the extremely dangerous power oozing out of him. Whoever stood in front of him has to show submission.

Jesus! This guy exudes superiority and dominance, how should I convince him?

I stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do, I tried to clear my throat but instead made a weird sound.

Fuck, what’s wrong with you, Diannah, my subconscious yelled inside my head.

I cleared my throat louder this time, what should I address him? Oh god!

Hearing me he looked at me with those magnificent green eyes and I froze, he placed the book on the desk and stared at me, his eyes moved from my face to my toes and back to my face as if he was memorizing every inch of my body and it spent chills over my body. He raised his hand and gestured to me to sit in front of him. I hesitatingly moved towards the chairs placed in front of his desk and sat down.

"Um... I... " I opened my mouth but sitting under his watchful eyes was more stressful than I imagined and I have never, ever got this nervous before.

Oh god, say it, Diannah! Come on you can do this.

"I want to go home, can you please send me back," I said in one breath and looked at him,

He was staring at me with a blank expression on his face, "You can go," he said in a really deep voice with and thick British accent, it was the kind of voice that stands out and grabs everyone's attention right away. It made goosebumps all over my body

What is happening to me?

"I don't want you in my kingdom either," he said with a serious expression on his face,

It was kind of insulting and somehow made me angry, "Then why am I here?" I asked with an angry look on my face. He had no right to say that, I was literally pulled through a portal from my room to this goddamn place which I have no idea about where it's located.

"If you didn't want me here, you shouldn't have brought me," I added,

"Don't you dare raise your voice before me," he yelled while slamming his fist on the desk angrily.

I flinched back in fear and stared at him, he's extremely scary when he's angry. The nerve popped on his forehead and the way he was clenching his jaw made him look extremely intimidating and threatening. I swallowed hard while staring at him in terror,

"It won't take a sec for me to rip your heart out," he gritted his teeth,

"Think twice before talking to me,"
