Chapter 5

I widened my eyes as I read it.

It’s true! Mom and dad adopted me! I thought as I watched mom carrying me and walking out of the room.

I blinked and I was back, I looked around and saw that I was back in the study room with Eira, Geralt, and Gabriel. I glanced at Eira and saw her staring at my face,

“I wasn’t lying,” She said, “You’re not human,” she added.

I was adopted! Why did Mom and Dad never let me know about this? Why did they hide it from me? There were a lot of questions running inside my head and I needed answers.

“Maybe they did it for a reason!” Diesel replied,

I looked at him, “They might have forgotten about the adoption and raised you as their own,” he replied while glancing at Gabriel with adoration in his eyes.

“Humans are greatly emotional,” he commented while looking back at Eira,

“If… I’m not human then… Who am I?” I asked staring into space with tons of questions running in my head, my head was aching as it was about to explode with all this information.

“That’s what we have to find out?” Geralt replied,

“How?” I asked glancing at him,

“I think you need to rest for a while… you need time to process all this information,” Eira said, “Till then we will find a way,” She added, “I’ll ask Adora to show you around,” she said.

I nodded my head and stood up from the chair, “If you don’t mind... will you take him with you?” She asked while lifting Diesel in her arms and giving him to me,

“Sure,” I replied while taking him from her.

“Bye,” he said to them while I turned around and began walking towards the door. I opened it and stepped out while closing it behind.

“So, what do you think?” he said while I was walking to my room.

“About what?” I asked,

“The mate thing?” he said while looking at me with those big eyes.

“You know, for a puppy, you talk too much,” I said with a hint of irritation while rolling my eyes,

“Don’t puppies talk in your realm?” he asked innocently,

“No, Animals don’t talk on earth,” I replied.

“Oh,” he said and suddenly went silent.

As I was walking down the hallway I saw Adora coming out of her room, “Adora,” I called, she stopped and turned towards me and smiled as she saw me.

“Here,” I handed Diesel to her as soon as I reached her, “Oh!” She took him, “Did he irritate you?” she chuckled while holding him while stroking his head.

“No,” He replied instead of me, “I was just asking her a question,” he said while glancing at her, “Put me down,” he said while wiggling in her arms.

“Okay, Okay,” She replied and put him on the ground, as She put him down he ran away.

“Get ready, we are going out,” she said,

“Where?” I asked with raising curiosity,

“Princess Eira asked me to show you our kingdom,” She replied, “There are plenty of beautiful places… I’m sure you’ll love them,” she said with excitement on her face, “Come,” she grabbed my arm and began pulling me with her.

She opened the door of my room and pulled me inside, “Let’s select a dress,” she said while walking towards the walk-in closet, she walked to the wardrobe and opened it. I followed her and gasped when I saw tons of clothes hanging inside.

“Jesus,” I whispered while I stared at them, they’re so fancy and far more stylish than on earth.

“We are extremely picky when it comes to fashion,” she commented while going through the dresses, “I can see that,” I replied with my mouth wide open and eyes wide.

“Yep, this will look great on you,” she said while drabbing a dress and putting it on me.

It was a full sleeve, off-shoulder black and green dress, it had an A-line V-neck “Go change it,” she said while pushing me into the changing room.

I stripped down and wore the dress; I pulled the back zip up. I walked back to her, “Adora,” I called, she stopped searching for the right shoes and turned back.

“Wow, you look beautiful in this,” she complimented, while pulling me towards the big mirror, I looked at the reflection in awe. I do look beautiful in this dress; it fitted my curves perfectly and the neckline was pretty awesome. I sat quietly watching her reflection as she did my hair and natural makeup,

“Now you’re ready,” she said while stepping back.

I smiled at her and stood up from the chair, “Let’s go,” she said and I followed her.

We walked out of my room and were strolling through the never-ending hallway, “Let me show our palace first, and after that, I will take you to the Scrum,” she said with excitement evident in her voice.

“Scrum?” I asked confused,

“It’s a… What do you say… giant marketplace,” she said, “It has every single thing for people's needs, it is always crowded but you will love it, “ she replied, I just nodded my head.

As we reached the stairs, Eira followed by Geralt and Gabriel were walking towards us. Their eyes landed on me, “You look, lovely dear,” Eira said while pushing a strand of hair behind my ear, I just smiled at her.

All of a sudden I got a chilly feeling all over my body, goosebumps rose up as I felt piercing eyes on me. It was strange and I never felt this way before, my breathing became unstable and my palms began to sweat.

Eira, Adora, and Geralt were busy talking to notice my condition, Jesus what’s happening to me? I thought as I tried to look everywhere but at a certain man standing beside me, whose aura was making my legs go jelly. I could feel the heat radiating from his body and it was becoming unbearable for me.

Gabriel was standing too close to me, suddenly his long and soft finger brushed against my bare thigh. A small gasp left my lips as he began to move it upwards extremely slowly, I swallowed hard and tried to control myself but I couldn’t. His small contact was somehow turning me on and it was shocking me to see my body so damn responsive to his touch.

With shaky breathing and hand, I grabbed his finger and pushed it away from my thigh. I glanced back at him and saw the corner of his lips moving upwards.

Oh, Jesus, I have to stay away from this guy! Far away!
