Hunter's guilt almost crushed him. Everything she said was true he pretty much has been gone ever since he asked her to mate him and have his pup. Then everything she went through while in the hands of the Dark One, couldn’t have been easy. She had to survive and protect their pup while he was off trying to find the Alpha’s pup and doing that almost cost him his pup. He wasn’t going to do that again. “Listen I will tell the alpha that I won’t be going on this mission I’m sure he will be angry and I may lose my rank but it doesn’t matter. All that matters is protecting our pup.” Hunter said, pulling Nyla into his arms. Nyla was shocked that he was willing to lose his rank and status in the pack to protect her. She held him tighter happy that even though he is mated to someone else he was choosing her. She should have never doubted him, he had been in love with her since they met.
