The Human Wolf CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Drums, trumpets, flowers, werewolves, Humans, and witches were all present in the helores castle, after a year since the great battle that gave the werewolves victory. Everyone had come together to see the great sage get bonded with his mate. The decoration of the venue was phenomenal, from the candelabra down to the balloons and garlands. Everything used to design this wedding venue was explicit. Its base was a square of blue cardboard representing a temple with porticos and colonnades and adorned on all sides with stucco statuettes standing in niches spangled with gold paper stars. The second tier was a medieval castlegateau de Savoie, surrounded by miniature fortifications of angelica, almonds, raisins, and orange sections. And finally, on the topmost layer – which was a green meadow, with rocks, jelly lakes, and boats of hazelnut shells – a little Cupid was swinging in a chocolate swing. The tips of two uprights, the highest points of the whole, were two real rose buds.

Years later, a lot changed in Zafira's life. The big castle of Helores was graced with the voices of two amazing boys, Turstin and Adelard. Zafira wished her mother was alive to see how Adelard had taken after her face. Adelard was how her mother would look if she was a male. She had passed away a couple of months after Zafira was mated to the great sage. Zafira still saw her mother in most of her dreams. The loss of Andriana was something she could not bear. Sometimes she wondered if truly the moon goddess cared for her. It made her question the saying that " The moon goddess was close to the Luna." She felt differently because how can her mother die a few months after her mating ceremony and her father passed away a year after she gave birth to her first son? In another part of the city of pikes, lived an innocent human girl named Amelia whose life was ruined before she was even given birth too. Her mother lived in the city of Helores and lost everything during the great battle. Though she did not see it as luck to be alive. She had gone to get wood to keep the house warm. The bombarding of the walls from the cannons had affected their house as a large part of the great wall fell on their house, crushing all the memories, family members and possessions that the young Loveth had. Leaving Loveth with nothing but the clothes that she had on and the wood she had gone to pick. Loveth screamed at the top of her voice but no one paid heed because everyone was struggling to survive. The trudging pain that was embedded in Amelia's head was excruciating and it felt as though she was coming down with a concussion, or maybe it had finally arrived. She was naked as she looked at her reflection on the tiled floor that was beneath her. As she lay on the marbled ties she thought of the possibilities of how nice her life could have been if she hadn't met the devil — Adelard for help. Maybe if she hadn't been so desperate to prevent her father from dying then she wouldn't have met this sad fate. It's been going on for a couple of weeks now finally, a silver lining as Turstin and his men were able to capture some of the rogues that had starred to terrorize the people of Helores, twenty of them to be precise; Fifteen were men while the remaining five were females. Turstin stood in the throne hall, staring at them as they knelt at his front. Their hands were tied with chains and their heads were bowed down in what seemed like remorse; but there was no way, this young Alpha lord was going to be sympathetic with them. In the past few weeks, numerous women from his kingdom had gone missing, and two were found dead by the border of the kingdom — which was just next to the Murky forest, it caused a huge uproar in the kingdom as people doubted his capability to lead the greatest kingdom of the six kingdoms in the land of the goddess. Tears couldn't stop flowing from her eyes as she remained curled up on the bed, rethinking everything that had happened to her a day ago. Amelia, opened her blue eyes slowly as she struggled to see her environment, she found it difficult to see the trees that stood above her blocking the sun from hitting her face. Her vision was pretty much blurry so she decided to close it back immediately. Slowly regaining consciousness of her environment, she felt pains in her wrist, and couldn’t move them even as she tried hard to. A few minutes later, the consciousness of her environment grew as she realized that her hands were tied to the back of a hard surface. Amelia struggled as she closed her eyes and opened them again and thankfully it didn't hurt as it did the first time. Melnyk, The great sage had called for a meeting, the throne room was already crowded, with Alphas, betas and gammas from the remaining wolves' kingdoms. Cole and Sorren all had their seats close to Turstin as he sat calmly on one of the chairs in the throne room. Turstin was seated on the right-hand side of the great sage and the Lord of all kingdoms (The alpha king), and on his left-hand side of the great sage was his second son, Adelard who hadn't stopped scowling at his brother since he arrived at the castle in the early morning. Turstin and Melnyk had a fall out about Amelia's presence in the palace. Melnyk had said the worst things to his son, in front of Adelard which had provoked Turstin to the core. Turstin decided to visit a place that he had not visited kn a while, which was the pub. Everything wasn't normal and not now when the whole world feels like a burden to his chest. The liquor wasn't helping and not even the voices of the people in the pub. Everybody stared at him before they left and it was beginning to get on his nerves but who really cares, definitely not him and not now when his mind is filled with many more pressing issues. She had found a deserted room in the physician's chambers in the great castle, and that was where she had stayed for a couple of days. Her goal was one thing and one thing alone, and that was to kill the baby that Amelia was carrying. Though Maria had her doubts that the baby would survive she was not ready to take any chances, because if the baby survives, it might ruin her whole plan and which was to destroy the castle of Helores. She had thought deeply about everything she wanted to do, and she was very impressed with the way things were going according to her plan. Adelard was not to let that bother him because he had a goal in mind and when he finally becomes the great sage, other people and cities will bow to his name. As Adelard and his entourage walked into the city of pikes, he had only one thing on his mind and that was to see the princess of the great city of Karak.
