Gwen's POV

I can't believe my so-called father would keep all this information from me. Scratch that; Gary definitely would keep this from me. He would do anything if it was beneficial to him.

"Do you think your mother knows?" Stephen asked

"How do we know that it's not her mother's side that are protectors?" Steven asked.

"Because I know my mother's side. They might not speak to us anymore because Gary forbade us to see them, but they have talked to me in secret. Plus, I don't think my mom would have kept that secret from me. She would have told me I was a protector," I said. Stephen, Steven, Claire, and I were sitting in a small diner, eating breakfast, and trying to figure everything out that we had just learned.

"I still think we should look into her side as well," Steven said.

"I think Gwen is right. The protector gene must have come from Gary's side. Why else would he never speak about his family? Gwen doesn't even know where he comes from. It all makes sense now. He wante
