Chapter 105

Claire's POV

"Stop thinking so much about everything, Little Human. You are doing the right thing. You know you are doing the right thing," Cara said. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I knew Cara was right, and I had to do this. If I didn't, I would never find out what I was or what I could do.

I wished Stephen, Steven, and Gwen would come with me, but I knew they wouldn't. I also knew that if I told any of them what I was doing, they would stop me. I didn't put it past Stephen to lock me up somewhere, so I couldn't get out. I placed the note on the nightstand, picked up my bag, and quickly went through our bedroom window. I was high up and worried I would fall to my death.

"Now what, Cara?" I asked

"Go to the emergency exit at the end," she said, and I walked to the end and opened the door.
