Chapter 7 Eden Entertainment

Chapter 7 Eden Entertainment

“Congratulations, Evelyn. You’ve been accepted as the business director's secretary. Mr. Director has also said you’ll start working tomorrow,” said a man in his thirties, extending his hand toward Evelyn.

Evelyn shook his hand firmly and slightly bowed her head. “Thank you, Mr. Harvey. I will do my best to meet your expectations,” she replied politely.

Harvey, the HR manager and a friend of Anita, nodded. “Rena,” he called, and a young woman appeared beside him. “Please take Evelyn on a tour of the office so she feels comfortable tomorrow.”

Rena greeted Evelyn warmly, knowing how hard it was to get a position like hers. “Hello, Ms. Evelyn. I’m Rena, from the HR department.” Evelyn smiled back and shook her hand.

Seeing his job done, Harvey said, “I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll leave you now, Evelyn.”

“Alright, thank you again,” Evelyn replied.

Once Harvey was out of sight, Rena led Evelyn away for the tour. “Come with me, Ms. Evelyn.”

The company where Evelyn would be working was called Eden, the top-ranked talent management agency in New Santerra. It was said that Eden was backed by a huge parent company in Capitol. With substantial funds and excellent internal management, the company had risen to the top within just three years.

As Evelyn looked around, she recognized familiar faces among the staff. ‘This really is the number one talent management agency; there are so many top artists here,’ she thought, taking in the luxury of the office building. ‘Whoever owns this company must be extraordinary.’

“This is Mr. Ryan’s office, the business director who will be your main boss. Along with you, there’s Ms. Linda, who is Mr. Ryan’s personal assistant. She will guide you for the next month,” Rena explained. She glanced around and whispered, “Just a little advice, be patient with Ms. Linda. She can be a bit… difficult. If anything comes up, you can report to Mr. Harvey.”

Evelyn felt grateful for Rena’s warning. “Thank you for the heads-up, Rena,” she replied.

“Don’t worry, Ms. Evelyn. If anything happens, you can come to me as well.” Rena tapped her chest lightly, indicating she could be trusted. “Since Mr. Ryan is out of the office, let’s head to the next floor.”

After touring most of the office, Evelyn asked, “I heard Eden’s parent company is a big firm in Capitol. Is that true?”

Rena smiled awkwardly. “Yes, Ms. Evelyn. Our parent company is the Dean Group from Capitol.”

Evelyn was taken aback. “The Dean Group? The one with the largest funds and dozens of subsidiaries in various fields?!”

Information about Eden’s parent company was never publicly disclosed, except to clients and investors, and employees were required to keep it confidential. So, Rena wasn’t surprised by Evelyn’s shock.

“Yes, ma’am. Unlike other subsidiaries of the Dean Group, Eden is special because it’s run by Mr. Adam Dean himself,” Rena continued.

Evelyn’s brow furrowed. Adam Dean was known as the primary heir of the Dean family. After his grandfather retired from business, his father became the largest shareholder of the Dean Group, while Adam held the second largest share after him.

Despite his important position, information about Adam was scarce. He was said to dislike being in the spotlight, and given his wealth and power, the media dared not publish his photos. All that everyone knew was that he had exceptional business skills, which were the main reason the Dean family’s business dynasty thrived.

“Still, Mr. Adam, as the CEO, rarely appears because he’s always busy. My senior told me he visits New Santerra once a year or every two years to check on Eden’s progress. I’ve worked here for two years, but I’ve only seen him once,” Rena explained. “But he’s really—”

Before Rena could finish her sentence, the elevator doors suddenly opened. Rena and Evelyn turned to step inside, but when they saw who was in the elevator, they froze.

Evelyn’s face drained of color, and she went pale. Her dark eyes mirrored the piercing blue of the man standing before her, causing her muscles to tense as if screaming for her to run.

‘H-how can this be?!
