34. Just Memories

Arriving at a farm, Emily immediately knocked on the door. Her heart was pounding as she waited. She wasn't sure how to greet or ask. Her brain was too full of fear and anxiety.

When the door opened, her back straightened. Her hands were clenched tightly at her sides, occasionally squeezing the pants.

"Sky?" she greeted spontaneously as a woman appeared from inside. However, realizing that the figure in front of her was a middle-aged woman, she quickly corrected herself. "Mrs. Hills."

Alice Hills was petrified. Her eyes flickered to study Emily's face. Occasionally she looked up at the sky, making sure that it was already dark.

"Emily? What are you doing here?" she sighed.

Emily smiled faintly. She realized that her eyes had heated up. Tears must have flowed there.

"Sorry to bother you at this hour. I was actually planning to come tomorrow morning. But there's something important I need to ask Sky. Is she here?"

Alice gaped wordlessly. She seemed unsure whether to answer
