Chapter 3. Election Of New Leaders

The next day...

In a meeting room housed in the Rashaad Group company, which is a large company with many entrepreneurs who work together and keep shares in it,.

The founder and leader is actually the grandfather of Aditya named Ali Rashaad who only has an only son, Fajar Rashaad, for this reason, after his wife died, namely Aditya's grandmother, Ali Rashaad also bequeathed all his property and company to Fajar Rashaad his only son and matched Fajar to Sandra who is the daughter of his best friend, even though without love Fajar Rashaad finally married Sandra, they have been married for several years but Sandra has not yet been blessed with children until Ali Rashaad finally dies following his wife without having time to see his grandson, Aditya, that's when Aletta appears in the company and becomes Fajar's secretary, because they are often together, they finally have an illicit relationship until Fajar marries Aletta and the woman finally becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son for Fajar, Sandra who knows about her husband's affair feels devastated and hates Aletta, for some reason Fajar and Sandra do drama and expel the child's mother.

"Where is our honorable leader? It's already nine o'clock, and he still hasn't come." asked someone who was annoyed because he was waiting for Fajar, who was very late while occasionally looking at the clock on his hand.

"Calm down, Mr. Benny; Mr. Fajar is probably on his way. I heard he came from abroad," said another person calming down, the person named Benny.

"Did Mr. Benny not ask your sister, Mrs. Sandra, before leaving today?" I asked another person.

"I didn't call my sister when I went to the meeting this morning, Mr. Calvin, because she rarely picks up my phone," Benny replied to the man named Calvin.

"Be patient, Mr. Benny; maybe they are still deliberating; I'm sure they are nervous that the leadership of the Rashaad group could be replaced today. They must have a lot of considerations; after centuries, their name is the leader of this group," said a man who seemed to be sitting relaxed and calm.

"It's not like that, Mr. Indra; we've been waiting for over an hour. It's very rare for leaders not to be on time like this," Benny said to the man he called Indra.

"Haha, that's right, Mr. Indra, it's been centuries, and this time there will be a vote for a new leader. Before,  he always won as leader, but I can't guarantee, will the goddess of Fortuna continue to protect him today?" asked Calvin in a loud voice with a satisfied laugh.

"Why are you talking like that? You have to remember that Mrs. Sandra is the biggest shareholder in this company," said Mr. Benny in defense of his sister.

"Therefore, Mr. Benny must be able to persuade Mrs. Sandra to give you a little of her shares, considering that she is barren without a single child, haha," said the man named Calvin in a mocking tone.

"Mr. Calvin, please watch your words. In their household it might be kak Fajar who can't give children; look at me and Benny; both of us after marriage have several children, so it's impossible for kak Sandra to be barren; in our family there is nothing like that," defended someone who also claimed to be Mrs. Sandra's younger brother. He seemed not to accept Calvin's insults towards his older sister.

"Never mind Billy, don't you serve him, Mr. Calvin, please don't insult my family anymore," Benny interrupted his younger brother named Billy and warned Calvin, so he wouldn't say too much.

Calvin wanted to fight back, but Mr. Indra immediately patted the man's shoulder and said, "Never mind, young master Calvin, let's not discuss it anymore, already." Mr. Indra advised with a wink.

Suddenly the door to the meeting room opened. A middle-aged woman who was so beautiful and graceful entered the meeting room, which was filled with men. It seemed that there were 10 men who had attended the private meeting of the company's shareholders.

"Good afternoon; I apologize for being late," greeted the woman.

"Mrs. Sandra? Where is the leader?" I asked one of the men who joined the meeting in the room.

"I apologize, because the leader cannot be present at this time; he is still on the plane and does not know what time the country will arrive. For that, I represent him, rather than canceling this meeting. Isn't that right, Mr. Andi?" Answered Mrs. Sandra, who then asked back to the person who asked her, namely Mr. Andi.

Calvin and Indra smiled slyly, then whispered to each other when they found out that Mr. Fajar couldn't come, and they were sure something had happened to him.

"Please, Mr. Weber, you can chair the meeting now," Mrs. Sandra ordered.

Mr. Weber was the company lawyer; he represented every major activity of the company. His loyal attitude made him the right hand of the leader in the past and the leader in the present. He was also so old that he was the same age as Mr. Ali if he were still around.

Mr. Weber walked forward and stood among the leaders of the partner companies of the Rashaad Group.

"Well, let us first pray for a moment according to our respective religions and beliefs. May this meeting go smoothly. Prayers begin."

(...)

"Prayers are over. Well, this meeting, as usual, what we do every five years is to vote for a new leader, where the leader must have an absolute requirement as the largest shareholder of seventy percent, where seventy percent of the leaders can get it from personal shares or the results of collaborating with other entrepreneurs who work together in this company."

"Well, please deliberate for a moment; in five minutes, I will start voting," said Mr. Weber. He spoke with authority, and all members respected him.

All the members were busy deliberating; only Calvin and Indra looked very calm because many had supported them.

"Alright, I have received the candidates, namely... oh, there is Mr. Calvin, Mr. Benny, and Mr. Fajar too. Well,  since there are two candidates who volunteered, I will first ask the number of shares owned by Mr. Calvin and Mr. Benny. How much is the amount?" asked Mr. Weber after receiving a piece of paper from his personal assistant.

"Mr. Calvin is fifteen percent, and Mr. Benny is ten percent." The assistant replied.

"Oh, how about Mr. Calvin and Mr. Benny? On what basis do you want to run for office? Who would want to increase and give you shares worth more than sixty percent?" asked Mr. Weber.

"Just by luck, the main requirement to be a leader is that the person must be present, and Mr. Fajar is not present at the moment. The rumor I heard is that he is now critical and in the hospital, not what Mrs. Sandra said earlier," Calvin replied, acting and appearing to challenge Mrs. Sandra not to lie.

Mrs. Sandra, who saw the signs and heard Calvin's bold words, felt a little suspicious and wondered, 'Are you Calvin, the mastermind behind my husband's stabbing? The traitor who wanted to kill my husband?’
