Chapter 20As they started to drive over to her parent's house, Max started to get back into the mindset that he needed to be in. Having her there was a huge distraction, but it was one that he couldn't get rid of. He had to get back into the mindset of a detective. There was something that wasn't all that easy to do. She was a little on the frantic side though she wasn't hysterical yet. He was just listening to everything that they were saying as they were talking to each other, and Deanna was asking questions to get a little bit of information about missing cousins and everything else. Max didn't want to leave him. That was one of the first times that he realized they had really taken to the world of being a father. As they walked down, the temperature actually changed around them. It was a lot colder in the room than it was outside. Starting to become slightly overwhelming as it was stale, and there was something metallic in the air. When they got down to the great room, he saw that there were three rooms off of that. He motioned to all of the people to go into one of the rooms. Max took the room that was closest to him and the door. He walked straight right into the room, and he knew that he was right when he thought that this was like descending into hell.As soon as he got him, he saw the restraints on the wall. Chapter 24Max walked out into the main room that led upstairs, and then he realized that he hadn't seen all the people go out when everybody had rushed up to the surface. There was still one person that was in here that he couldn't hear. As Max began to look around the room with just his flashlight, he could tell that there was already somebody else in the room even though they weren't actually there anymore. The next few days Max was completely engrossed in going over the course from the beginning to the end. He had already rewritten at once and now he was going to make it more specific period he was already looking up case files and everything else that he could possibly do to get everything completely set. Max stop Deanna and the kids off at the university and then he went to the Academy. He knew that it wasn't going to take very long for him to go over everything. When he did get there he was ushered into their conference room and he passed out the folders to the three Deans of the different academies. He knew that that was going to be the number one thing that he had to do was make sure that he sold the program. He was good at selling himself as well. He had been doing it for years since he left the military. One of the things that he had to learn that in the civilian world it was his reputation that was going to get him very far. The fact that he had been in the military and woon did in battle wear something that people wanted to know about. Max had been surprised the entire night. Everybody had been on their best behavior when they actually saw Deanna standing next to him. And then of course the two kids. After about 10 minutes of trying to get around exactly what the man was saying Max had enough. He was absolutely just thoroughly enjoying the fact that the man was so flustered that Max kept coming back with something else. It was like none of the other professors actually never questioned him.
