“I'll go wake up Henry and get him ready,” Max said as he looked at her.
“why wake up Henry?” Deanna asked quickly as she looked at him, slightly confused even though he had just made a huge confession; she didn't really think that she was putting herself in danger at the moment.
“because whether you think I'm being overbearing or not, there's no way in hell I'm letting you near that psycho by yourself where I can't see you. You can glare at me all you want. It just won't happen.” Max said as he looked down into her face.
“I know Max,” she replied, and she began to smiles very softly. He couldn't actually believe that she was standing right in front of him, let alone that she was actually starting to agree with him.
“you aren't mad?” he asked as he put his hands around her face and just cupped her cheeks gently.
“it's a little weird to have somebody who cares about my w
Max turned and watched as the five of them walked up to the house. As soon as he really started to pay attention to how the the officers were acting to the situation, he knew things were taking a turn, and it was going South very quickly. He had to trust that Deanna was capable of understanding that she was possibly putting herself in danger. Didn't wanna hold his breath, so if he had to react, he could. The only thing that he hoped that it was that he didn't have to interject himself at all. Instead, he decided to call dispatch and tell them that they probably needed more help out here. When Deanna actually hit the door and pushed her way inside, and then she grabbed something beyond the door that he could see, he saw that it was a grown woman. Chapter 20As they started to drive over to her parent's house, Max started to get back into the mindset that he needed to be in. Having her there was a huge distraction, but it was one that he couldn't get rid of. He had to get back into the mindset of a detective. There was something that wasn't all that easy to do. She was a little on the frantic side though she wasn't hysterical yet. It was coming.Max knew enough about psychology to know that a person can only take so much in one day period to know before they are going to have a major mental breakdown. She was on her way to having that. Dana was severely independent in he understood that, but this was one thing that he needed to do to help out the police force because they were always short-handed because nothing ever happened in their sleepy little county. Her mindset as well was going to be a major factor on how he handled things. This was his life now. This was his family. The woman
Deanna was on the phone with a few of her siblings on the car ride over. He was just listening to everything that they were saying as they were talking to each other, and Deanna was asking questions to get a little bit of information about missing cousins and everything else. When she finally got off the phone with what he believed was her sister, she looked around outside and focused on something outside the window even though it was all passing and looking like a blur.they began having a conversation about Henry. that was right after Deanna had made a statement to Henry. “I promise you, after all this is done, you will never know it. You will never know anything that happened. I will protect you from the truth of everything our biological father has done. I will make sure we get you the help that you will need, Henry, and hopefully, the other side of you will never show itself.” she had said to him softly because he was
Max didn't want to leave him. That was one of the first times that he realized they had really taken to the world of being a father. He handed Henry to Deanna as they continued to go closer to the house on the side where she was pointing. He was looking at the side of the house and the concrete slab that made the basement, and he couldn't see any entryway. He was absolutely positive that there was nothing there, and now he had to wonder about her sanity. That's when he actually watched her as she walked up to the area and then pressed on the concrete. Almost magically, there was some outline of a door there. And the door handle seemed to come out of nowhere. Mac shook his head as he looked at the enginuity that it took to hide this particular basement from view. Now he had to actually agree with her that there was probably something in there that he didn't want to deal with.In the car ride over, Deanna had reached out to one of her older si
As they walked down, the temperature actually changed around them. It was a lot colder in the room than it was outside. Starting to become slightly overwhelming as it was stale, and there was something metallic in the air. When they got down to the great room, he saw that there were three rooms off of that. He motioned to all of the people to go into one of the rooms. Max took the room that was closest to him and the door. He walked straight right into the room, and he knew that he was right when he thought that this was like descending into hell.As soon as he got him, he saw the restraints on the wall. In the room itself, the air was heavy, and it was hard to breathe. The smell was nothing but dried blood that had pulled on the floor. He continued to look around the room and saw the different torture implements that were on the walls. The person who had made this room with nothing but sick individual. As he examined the restraints t
Chapter 24Max walked out into the main room that led upstairs, and then he realized that he hadn't seen all the people go out when everybody had rushed up to the surface. There was still one person that was in here that he couldn't hear. He walked into the last room that he could see, and again, he knew something was very wrong before he even flashed his light in there. The one thing that stood out was the officer that had gone in there and had not come come out, and he wasn't in the room. Max didn't want to think that something had happened to him, but right now, he had to focus on the room. They would find the officer he was sure of it maybe the man had snuck out while he was too busy in the first room and next didn't know it yet.two officers were standing there as Max was still called the rooms. “Did he come out yet?” Max asked as he looked at them, and they both shook their head no. they also said
As Max began to look around the room with just his flashlight, he could tell that there was already somebody else in the room even though they weren't actually there anymore. He could see the shadows of the woman that was hanging in the middle of the room. When the flashlight finally hit her body, he was absolutely horrified at what he saw. There was no describing it, and it was worse than any horror movie he had ever seen. He had to look away and focus on something else rather quickly. There was no way that he could continue at that moment. He could actually feel his gag reflex begin to work.He looked at the wall and tried to settle himself as best he could. He had never actually gotten sick add a crime scene before, and he thought that this might be the first time period he could actually feel the rumbling going through his entire body as he wanted to throw up. This was like nothing he had ever seen before, and he had seen pictures of pure
The next few days Max was completely engrossed in going over the course from the beginning to the end. He had already rewritten at once and now he was going to make it more specific period he was already looking up case files and everything else that he could possibly do to get everything completely set. Though the paperwork Adam actually come in yet he was betting that it would any day now. He was OK with the fact that it wasn't totally official because he had the men’s word and his own captain's word working for him. He knew that they just had to make it more transferable on paper. He would leave that to them knowing that that was what it was going to be.the next few days he was also dealing with Deanna who is still in the middle of her grief. Though it seemed to hit her at random times it was still hitting her out of the blue. She was dealing with everything as she always did with her head held high even if she had tears in her eyes. She was really try
Max stop Deanna and the kids off at the university and then he went to the Academy. He knew that it wasn't going to take very long for him to go over everything. When he did get there he was ushered into their conference room and he passed out the folders to the three Deans of the different academies. He knew that that was going to be the number one thing that he had to do was make sure that he sold the program. He was good at selling himself as well. He had been doing it for years since he left the military. One of the things that he had to learn that in the civilian world it was his reputation that was going to get him very far. The fact that he had been in the military and woon did in battle wear something that people wanted to know about. So he had found a way to tell them without actually telling them anything. He had a normal way with words that was able to make the most complicated thing seem uncomplicated. That was also one of the reasons w
“what did she mean that it's part of the code?” Dana asked when they got into the car and Max had already started driving back to their house.“law enforcement spouses usually stick together. just like they say that there is a blue wall sometimes meaning that officers will stick with each other and not let the civilians know what really goes on. The same goes for their wives. Despite the fact that penny is also a part of it she is add detective wife. She knows all the rules in jazz who knows what it's like to be a new mom. And also have things surrounding you that you don't particularly want there. When they got married it was pretty rough. however I really didn't know them then I had only just heard what happened. It's not a pretty story but one day maybe I'll tell you. For right now just know that you always have her friend in her. So you can tell her anything that you need to plus she's a doctor so she can help out at times.” next said
Max had been surprised the entire night. Everybody had been on their best behavior when they actually saw Deanna standing next to him. And then of course the two kids. Henny was smiling like there was no tomorrow because she knew that he had finally gotten what he always wanted. Mac kept smiling too but it was for a different reason and Max knew that as well. This was definitely going to be one of those things that they were going to have to do frequently enough that Deanna needed to feel comfortable around them. He didn't actually believe that couples should have too many friends that were not other couples. He was kind of old fashioned in the way that he thought. She could have as many friends as she wanted that was perfectly fine but they would probably spend more time with other couples. It just seemed not to cause as many problems in any relationship. At least that was his view of it and like he knew he could learn something else.Mac was more
Max knew that he had to explain a few things on the way over to the other couples house. So he began to give them a rundown of everybody that was there including the kids. He also explained how him an Mac were friends to the point that it was like Max was one of their kids as well even though he was pretty much the same ages them. it was one of those interesting relationships that Max had filled his life with before he was able to deal with anything really personal. He also then began to explain slightly how they knew about her well before they had become a couple. “so just so you understand that they're going to probably be teasing me a lot and giving me a lot of crap. It's going to be because of you but that's OK.”“what do you mean it's because of me?” Deanna asked if she looked at him she was slightly surprised after being very amused with the way that he was explaining his friends to her. It wasn't like she had a
He meant what he said when he said he wanted to out and celebrate. It wasn't very often that he had the opportunity to spoil the woman that he loved and take his kids out at the same time period though he wasn't exactly short how that was going to work. So he decided that he was going to take them out for a nice meal when his phone began to ring. Halo down and saw that it was a person that he was actually just thinking about Mac Paulin who is another detective in one of the sister police precinct. They had worked a few cases together and they had also worked on a case that had basically changed Mac and his wife henni’s life for a little bit.Mac was one of maxs friends. He didn't really consider many people to be his actual friend but they had actually become rather good friends over the past few years. Henni where's the local medical examiner prefer one of the counties nearby. She also consulted with different police precincts as well.“What
Packing everybody up with a little bit easier and he knew that this would become a routine eventually. He knew that he was going to have them there for as long as he worked in the building. He grabbed his folders and put them in his briefcase and then gave Henry his bag. Henry just looked at him like he had completely lost his mind. “When it's time to go home I'm gonna give you this bag. And we're going to pack up the things that you want to take home with you. We can't come back to the university at night so we're going to make sure that we take everything that we want. Remember you have lots of toys at home as well so you can leave some things here. but I know that you wanna take bear and blankie with you.” Mac said as he looked at him and then he began to help Henry pick up the things that were the most important. “We're going to leave your bed in your sisters bed here so it's easier for mommy and me.”“DD is mommy?
Watching the man storm out of the room and go upstairs with something that Max was going to take huge amount of pride in doing. He was more than happy to sit back and wait for the repercussions to actually happen. None of that actually mattered to Max right now. The way that he had thought of it was it was going to be something that they were going to have to deal with anyway period now the fact that he possibly had another job waiting for him that was going to be better would be the absolute feather in his cap right now.that happened to be the moment that his phone rang right before Deanna could actually say something to him about what had just happened. “hello this is detective Anderson.” Max stated into the phone as he had an idea of what the number actually was. It wasn't the one that he had called before but it was a very similar number so he had to assume that it was a police Academy calling him back.“detective Ande
After about 10 minutes of trying to get around exactly what the man was saying Max had enough. He was absolutely just thoroughly enjoying the fact that the man was so flustered that Max kept coming back with something else. It was like none of the other professors actually never questioned him. Or the fact that he normally had a few students going into his office for a few hours every day period of course those particular students were young females who had no business going into the Dean of students for the department’s office period of course Max wasn't actually going to bring that up but he was alluding to it. The only female that he wanted in his office. Was the one who was sitting in the corner.he looked over to Indiana who was watching the whole thing trying not to laugh as she was continuing to fake read whatever she was reading. Max knew that the man was not gonna give up very easily. And of course then the veiled threats that his course was proba
