"What the hell?" Mike said in a surprised tone as he ruffled his hair in both surprise and immense confusion.
"Why the hell will they sell an innocent little girl?"
That was the breaking point of his patience. At that moment, he suddenly became blinded by a five-course serving of rage that tasted bitter, yet surprisingly satisfying. He reached out. He went to punch the fool in the face. When his fist came in contact he fell to the ground wailing in pain, as he tried to shake the aching after taste, upon the taste buds of his hand. Much like coffee, its bitterness drew him in to take another sip knowing he would be more awake than minutes before. He tackled him and held him down so he could not fight back. He seriously doubt he could’ve anyway as his fists continued to hit his face. He did not feel guilty nor did he feel the pain that could be caused by punching someone in the face. So many years of subtle bullying that su
"Hannah"She whispered as she began to worry. She can't just sit down on a hospital bed all in the name of treating a wound that was going to heal soon. She forcefully removed the needle which was plunged into her flesh and tried getting up, but fell to the ground with a third, giving a shout of pain. Her legs hurt so badly. One of the nurses came in to see what had happened only to find Susanna's figure on the ground."Madam, are you ok?"Susanna lay on the warm tiles floor. The young nurse picked up her hand and felt her pulse, so she could know if the patient was fine or no.Her heart beat was slow and steady, and her face was so pale. No doubt Susanna was out cold; that was the proof. She had drifted into a world of unconsciousness.
It didn't take long before the police had found Mike and Hannah and also captured the child traffickers. They had taken the both of them to Mike's home where he had fed Hannah and cuddled her to sleep. The young girl seemed to have wanted nothing more than to cuddle in his arms, enveloped by the warmth of both silence and his heat. Whether she wanted to rest permanently or not, he did not know. But she finally fell asleep in his arms. She never would have though silence would be considered warm but there she was laying in her bed prepared to be swept away by the hope that her sleep would be filled by light.Having been kidnapped by child traffickers and had suffered under their clutches, she deserved to have a good night rest.Luckily she didn't have any serious scratches although some were visible on her body as a result of the rope that was tied so tightly around her.
Hannah stayed with Mike because she wanted to. For some reason she felt sad with him, and Mike could not understand why. She always wanted to be with him every minute and he won't deny,It makes him happy. When Susanne had offered to take her home with her, she had refused, saying she wanted to be with papa. Her papa.He still has not gotten used to the whole "papa" ordeal, but he liked it though. For some reason he felt an unbreakable connection with this little girl. Mike was glad to take care of Hannah thus, indirectly fulfilling the promise he made to her on that night. That he would never leave her.He did not have the right over here but he would always care for the little child. She was more than special to him. How she walked her way to his heart he would never know. But he would protect her, even in exchange for his life.He always takes her to school
After all he had done to save her and her daughter it finally dawned on her.She is in love with him and she can’t even believe the love was still there. He had rekindled her love for him.She closed her eyes as she tries to shake those thoughts away. Thoughts of truth.
Mike never still understood why Susanna wanted Hannah to stay away from him. Was she still angry with him?Hasn't she not forgiven him yet?Just after he had grown so much affection for the child she wants him to stay away from her.He sighed as he remembered all that had transpired at the hospital. Hannah seemed so hurt and he couldn't do anything about it. It has been three days since that incident and he had missed the little girl.Susanna had been discharged that same day and she had resumed her waitress job the next day. She must have realized the money he had sent to her and he was quite happy if he was of some help.Even if they weren't really in good terms. He always came to Hannah's school just to check on her and buy her some snacks without she even knowing. If she asked the teacher who had sent the snacks to her the teacher would say it was her mother.Wh
Susanna sighed as she looked in her wardrobe. She hated parties, most especially parties that involved crowds. It might be because she was not used to attending parties. But she was a worker there and so she has to be there. She looked at her wall clock. It was 7pm.And the party was expected to kick off by 8pm.And since Susanne will be going to this party, she had to carry Hannah along. She picked up a dress and went in to change, leaving Hannah in the bedroom who was asleep. After putting on the dress she had picked she sat on her dressing table, wanting to do something with her hair. And then she was done. Her normally long swirly blonde hair was intricately packed and styled so wonderfully on top of her head in great curls, each one as stiff as day old pasta. She positioned herself in front of the bureau mirror and took inventory. Makeup was minimal, reserved to a sweep of mascara. Lips could use some gloss. I licked my bott
No Susanna. Don't worry about that, Sheiriki won't bother you, i made sure of that. You just gotta enjoy yourself here" He said as he smiled, his light purple dimple coming up.Hannah had that same dimple.Looking from Hannah to Mike she could see resemblance.Lots of resemblance.Too much resemblance to not be noticed.Susanna watched as Hannah held his hand on the table, smiling at him who also returned the smile.Damn! It was far too obvious."I can't stay here""Why?""I.....i...." She bit her lips as she tried to find an excuse but to no avail."Are you okay?" He asked with concern and hurt in his eyes. He stood up and pushed his chair close to hers and taking her hands in his."I could help if you just tell me Susanna"Her lips were quivering, her eyes seemed to be holding back tears. She wanted some bad to tell him all she had bottled up in her. She wanted to share all that was bothering h
Mike punched him hard with anger as he threw him towards the nearest table. He was angry.Angry that he had insulted Susanna that way. He slapped him and pushed some he fell on the ground. Kneeling down and taking the man's neck in his hands, he was glad he could see fear in his eyes. He pushed him away and walked to Susanna. She mattered to him right now."Are you alright?" He asked, cleaning the tears from her eyes as she cried."Mike" She whispered, hugging him closely, wanting him to feel the pain she was feeling.Wanting him to heal her broken heart.Hugging her back, he pressed light kisses on her neck, not minding the stares of the crowd around them. All he saw was her. All he felt was her.All he tasted was her.He picked her up and carried her out of the party, eyes following them as they walked out of the hall. All Susanna did was find solace in his chest, hiding from the prying eyes of the crowd. She wanted to le
Rainier“Dr. Carver, can I have a minute?” I try to catch up to Amelia as she walks down the corridor. She doesn’t stop for a second or even slow down.I stop, put my hands on my hips and speak louder. “Dr. Carver, don’t make me pull rank, because I will.”That makes her stop in her tracks. That’s right. Just because I wear a lab coat, people often think I’m just another doctor and forget that I also own the hospital. I don’t mind, but when I mean business, I will not be ignored.Amelia sighs and turns aroun
EllisWho does Rainier think he is?I ask myself the question as I tack a smiling reindeer to my bedroom door, replacing the sunflowers.I know he’s an esteemed neurosurgeon who’s been in practice for several years now. I know he’s my boss and the owner of the hospital I work in. I know I slept with him. That doesn’t mean he knows me, though, and that definitely doesn’t give him the right to say I don’t deserve to be a doctor.I let out a deep breath.Fine. Maybe I shouldn’t have said the same thing to him. I didn’t mean it anyway. I was just so upset that even though he’s so rich, he won’t do a pro bono surgery on one patient. He’s alr
Rainier“Tom.” I hold my friend’s gaze. “Everything’s fine. I was just trying to explain to Smithson here why I kicked her off my service today.”I glance at Ellis, who lets go of my arm and says nothing.“Is that so?” Tom crosses his arms over his chest. “Care to share that reason with me?”“Sure. Her mind just seems elsewhere today. That’s all.”Tom looks at Ellis. “Well, given the fact that you gave that poor man in the ER four stitches too many, I have to agree. Is something wrong, Smithson? You’ve been doing well until today.”“I’m fine, Chief,” Ellis answers, though without much confidence.Tom sighs. “Well, at any rate, you know attending physicians have the right to kick interns and even residents off their service. Although I do encourage them to provide their subordinates with plenty of chances for learning, even second chances, con
EllisRainier?I stare at him with eyebrows arched. My arms hang at my sides. I feel like all the blood has been drained from my face, from my limbs, from my whole body, all rushing to my heart, which feels like it’s about to explode from my chest at any second. It is Rainier. Those dark brown eyes are the same pools of melted chocolate I gazed into in between the most incredible kisses I’ve ever had. Those jet black curls are the same ones I tugged on while he… well, I don’t want to remember that right now.My point is, it’s Rainier, the same man I had Thanksgiving dinner and even more delicious sex with, except now he looks like a doctor, with the white coat and the black scrubs underneath. Does this mean…?“Smithson,” Dr. Carver’s voice jolts me out of my near panic attack. “Should I order a crash cart?”“N-no.”She sighs. “I know Dr. Knight is a gorgeous male
RainierAs soon as we step inside Ellis’s apartment, I place my hand on the back of her head and press my lips against hers. I’ve already taken off my coat in the elevator, so now I just let it fall to the floor.I pull her bonnet off. My fingers get lost in her hair and clutch a few tendrils as my lips crash down on hers over and over. Her hands grip my scarf and the frame of her glasses bumps against my nose as she kisses me back. The moan that escapes her throat echoes in my crotch. It’s not the best lip lock. It’s clumsy, like how she flirted with me. Messy. The edges of her teeth graze against my lower lip. Ellis clearly hasn’t had much practice. Either that or she’s lacking finesse because of that half glass of wine. Or maybe it’s just nerves. She certainly seemed to have them on the way here. At any rate, I
“I’ll do it,” I tell her. “I’ll sing for you.”Her eyes grow wide. “You can sing?”I nod. “What song is it?”“‘What Child Is This?'” she answers.“I know it.”I probably know every Christmas song by heart.“You’ll bring her to the hospital?” I ask Mr. Piercing Dark Eyes.“Sure,” he answers.I leave the caroler to him and make my way up the platform. The other carolers seem surprised to see me, but they turn their faces forward and continue singing. I sing along. When the opening notes of “What Child Is This?” start to play, I brace myself and start to sing as best as I can. I haven’t sung in public in a while, but thankfully, I still remember the lessons I learned when I was in the choir back in middle school. I just square my shoulders, tuck my stomach in, and open my mouth. My voice rings through the air, and after I hit the first few notes, the rest goes smoothly. When I’m done singing, I hear applause but I don’t have time to
Ellis“Happy Thanksgiving, Smithson.”Dr. Amelia Carver’s voice jars me out of my step-by-step recollection of the tonsillectomy I scrubbed in on just a few hours ago.I can’t help it. Since the first moment I stepped inside an OR, my mind has been stuck there, and until I’m actually spending most of my time there, it will be. It’s like when you’re watching a TV series one episode at a time. You keep thinking about the last one and wondering what will happen in the next. On the other hand, if you binge watch, there’s no room for anxiety, just anticipation. You just keep going from one episode to another, getting lost in the flow until time has passed you by.God, I can’t wait to binge on surgeries, but right now, I’m just an intern, so I have to take what scraps off the table I can get and try not to piss off any of the resident
SYNOPSISA hot neurosurgeon for a cold Christmas party.Sounds like a perfect fake date, right?Wrong.I'm hisintern.I knew it was wrong to spread my legs for him.But I did it anyway.I was supposed to hand him scalpels.Instead, I handed him my V-card on a silver platter. It should've been a one-time thing.Except that now, I want more.I want to pretend to be his fiancee.Take him to that fancy party.A party where secrets will come out.Mine will too.A secret that I'm carrying in my belly...His little surprise gift.NB; IT does not in any way continue to THE HANDSIME MEDICAL DOCTOR. He was happy when he had heard that she was coming back the next day. He smiled as he saw Hannah gleaming with joy. She was sure happy to see her mother again. He took her out and they did some shopping together, Hannah choosing what she wanted to give to her mother. Well most of them were chocolates, ice cream and cakes.Just when they were done with shopping, Mike spotted a very beautiful ring just at a jewellery shop.It seemed more like a diamond and a sapphire joined together. It contains two interlocking rows of channel-set diamonds and gorgeous sapphires. The sapphire has a strong intense shade of bright blue that exhibit great brilliance and wonderful sparkle. One elegant row contains sixteen full cut diamonds totaling approximately twenty-five carats. It will look so beautiful on Susanna's finger. Especially now that he had planned to get all serious after she has come back from wherever she went to. It was the only way to keep her a
