Chapter 7

I ripped everything Andrew left behind in two and tossed it all in the trash. Time was not the only thing I had wasted during our time together.

He had been camping out under my window for days, like he was on some kind of stakeout. Every time he saw me, he would start to say something, then just clam up.

However, when I pulled out the gloves he gave me, his eyes sparkled to life. Too bad for him, I tossed them into the bin without a second thought.

Andrew's voice spiked. "Don't!"

Tears streamed down his face, and I had never seen a guy fall apart like that. He scrambled into the trash like he had lost his mind.

I knew what those gloves meant. They were our memories—a cheap pair that cost ten bucks but which I had kept for three years.

They were shabby and let the cold in, but they meant something. Back when the whole university turned against me, Andrew stood by me, holding my hand firmly in support. Because of that, he ended up being misunderstood along with me.
