The sight of her parents crying in joy warmed Margot’s heart. She finally woke up after trying her best though it took her a day to open her eyes again.

Margot realized that no matter what happened, her family would always be by her side. Sure, there would be misunderstanding leading to arguments but Margot knew her father and stepmother would never turn their backs on her.

She felt guilty for doubting her father when he always watched her back despite her going against him. Margot wanted to apologize and tell them how grateful she was for having them in her life, but at the same time, she was worried about having cancer. Margot decided to keep her thoughts to herself until she got the result of her test.

“It’s a wonderful thing that you’re awake. It has been three days,” Linda said, wiping her tears as she smiled at her stepdaughter. “The doctor said you can be discharged in the next two days. Your body may feel a bit numb for now after lying down for days but it can be resolved if y

She was still wearing a bandage around her head but the wound was healing.“It’s fine, Mom. I can take care of myself. It was my fault for being careless last time,” Margot said and pulled back her hand. I’m going to proceed as planned no matter what.”She took her phone and called her lawyer. “Atty. I have no problem with the divorce, but I don’t appreciate him bringing it up when he’s the one at fault,” she paused and looked at her reflection on the glass.“I want you to do somet

Leo tapped his finger on the table while staring at the same document for almost an hour. He was trying to pull himself together but after bumping into Margot in the elevator and seeing her head wrapped in bandages, he couldn’t help thinking what could have happened.“It’s not something related to her husband’s illicit affair, is it?” Leo mumbled to himself, still couldn’t get Margot off his mind.“Doc? Hello? Can you hear me?” Hannah flicked her fingers in front of the doctor but his concentration was top notch and she suddenly felt like her presence wasn’t enough.“Doc, Mrs. Walton is waiting outside,” Hannah finally said, using Margot as her last resort.Leo jolted from his seat and fixed his coat. “Let her in,” he said, making his assistant laugh. “What? Do I look funny?” Leo asked Hannah with her eyebrows knitted.“No, you don’t. You’re acting funny, though. Mrs. Walton doesn’t have an appointment today. She’ll be here tomorrow. Today’s only Thursday,” Hannah informed him.Leo al

Margot stared at nothing in particular. She had been sitting in the driver’s seat of her car for minutes. Dr. Vivian’s voice kept ringing in her head and it felt like a dream to hear the result of her pregnancy test.“Congratulations! You’re five weeks pregnant,” Dr. Vivian informed her after.Margot was hoping for it to happen for years and she was undoubtedly happy about it. The only problem was Harry, the father of her baby. She was ready to send him to hell when the baby appeared in the picture, making her think twice about revenge.“What should I do now?” Margot asked herself, placing her hand on her not-so-noticeable baby bump. She was so deep in her thoughts that she didn’t hear the phone ringing. It took her another couple of minutes before realizing that someone was calling. Margot checked her phone when it rang again for the nth time. A tear fell from her eye when she saw Linda’s name flashing on the screen.“Sweetheart! Finally, you answered. Are you busy?” Linda asked as so

Leo let out a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness. You shouldn’t ignore what happened, especially when your husband’s mistress was involved. Did you tell your family about this?”“Yes,” Margot nodded her head. “They didn’t know I’m pregnant though. If they did, they wouldn’t wait for me to wake up before screwing up my husband’s mistress,” she said, smiling.“Still, you should be more careful.” Leo clenched his fist. “About your pregnancy, did you tell your husband?” he asked, staring at her face.Margot’s expression turned sour. “No way. He’s probably going to use this baby against me. I know my husband, he’s going to manipulate me into submitting to him just because I’m carrying his child. He would do anything to keep me on the leash like he did for the past few years we’ve been together,” she said, gritting her teeth.“I rather divorce him now. But it’s not going to be easy,” Margot mumbled.“Why? Didn’t you have evidence of his affair?” Leo asked, his eyebrows knitted.Margot nodded.

After talking to Leo, Margot dropped by the supermarket to buy groceries and other ingredients. She decided to be extra careful while continuing to work on her revenge. She had to delay the final strike but it was fine as long as she could keep the baby safe. While being pregnant could be her weakness, Margot thought she just had to hide it from Harry, just like how she hid her cancer diagnosis before. Although it would be impossible to hide the bump after a few months, she wanted to keep her pregnancy a secret as long as possible.“What the hell is he doing here?” Margot blurted out when saw her husband in the living room when she came home. She was grateful she didn’t have to waste her time on him and focused on her newly opened business instead. The company she started was meant to rival Harry’s project, and as she expected, Margot managed to blow a good hit on her husband’s pride when her restaurant became more famous than his.“Did he come to complain?” she muttered, shaking her head.“Miss Vanders!”Margot turned around and saw the person behind her successful business.
