Lucian stormed out of the club’s private lounge with Aurora hot on his heels.

The dimly lit hallway echoed with the sharp click of her heels as she chased after him, her frustration bubbling over.

“Lucian, wait—”

He spun around so fast she nearly collided with his chest. His eyes, usually so controlled, burned with an anger she rarely saw directed at her.

“Do you know what you’re doing, Aurora?” His voice was low but sharp, cutting through the tension between them like a blade. “I thought you were going to listen to me!”

Aurora squared her shoulders, refusing to back down. “I do know what I’m doing.”

Lucian let out a humorless chuckle, running a hand through his hair. “Oh, really? Because from where I’m standing, you just promised Ruel Gaviez—the son of a goddamn mafia boss—something you have no control over.” His jaw tightened. “Do you even understand how dangerous that was?”

Aurora took a step closer, her voice steady. “Lucian, trust me.”

His expression darkened. “Trust you?”

His attention was solely on Aurora.“I don’t like wasting time,” Gabriel said smoothly. “You asked for my presence, and I’m here. Now, let’s get to business.”Aurora turned to Ruel, her voice unwavering. “Give me Ethan Calloway.”Ruel raised an eyebrow. “Just like that?” He gestured lazily w

The warm glow of the hotel suite’s lamps cast a soft light over the room as Aurora stepped out of the bathroom, rubbing her damp hair with a towel. The city skyline stretched beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, twinkling like a blanket of stars. It was quiet, save for the distant hum of traffic below.Lucian sat on the edge of the bed, his back turned to her, deep in thought. His shirt was unbuttoned, his tie loosened, his usually sharp demeanor dulled by exhaustion. The weight of everything they had gone through was finally settling in.Aurora watched him for a moment before walking over, tossing the towel onto a nearby chair. “You’re quiet,” she noted.Lucian glanced at her, his expression unreadable. “I’m just… thinkin

The courtroom buzzed with a quiet tension that felt almost alive — thick and suffocating. Aurora sat next to Lucian, her fingers interlaced with his, but her grip was tight — not out of fear, but anticipation. They were so close to the end of this nightmare.Lucian leaned in, his voice soft but steady. “Everything will be okay now. You can calm down.”Aurora exhaled sharply, her shoulders still stiff with unease. “I just want this to be over.”Across the room, Ethan Calloway’s face was a mask of cold fury, his hands clenched into fists on the table. His usual arrogance had dimmed, but the simmering rage was still there. Beside him, Vanessa Steele sat with an air of false calm — her lips curled into that same infuriating smirk she always wore when she thought she had the upper hand.Aurora hated that look. When the trial began, Aurora’s anxiety gnawed at her. She knew how powerful the Steele family was — knew how things could turn at any moment. But as the case unfolded, everything
