Clara spaced out for a moment but soon turned to leave with tears welling up in her eyes. She would certainly fawn all over Frank if she could do it again, but regrets really were inconsequential.

Ms. Lewitt then went up to Jada, ready to ingratiate herself. "Don't worry, Ms. Turin. I will—"

She did not expect Jada to slap her before she could finish, snapping, "Get out!"
