"Kiera..." I called her name, shaking her body lightly, but she didn't respond. "Kiera, open your eyes," I whispered urgently, feeling a knot of fear form in my stomach. Her skin was cold to the touch, and panic began to rise within me as I frantically searched for a pulse.

She is alive, I thought to myself, as relief flooded through me when I finally felt a faint heartbeat beneath my fingertips.

Quickly, I drew for her doctor. I have four of the best doctors in the States, and fucking hell, one of them isn't available when my Kiera needs them. I tried to remain calm and keep my voice steady as I called her doctor.

"Where the fuck are you? I need you here now," I said urgently, my heart racing with worry. "Kiera needs you."

"I am sorry, Mr. Grey. I was caught in traffic, but I am on my way now," the doctor responded calmly.
