Cult of Love Chapter 1- Rohan

“Have you had any luck tracking down that scent?” Dad asked as he lowered the newspaper enough to look at me.

I rolled my eyes, regretting even bringing up the odd scent at Silvercloud Industries. I’m sure it’s not what my family thinks it is. They are all excited, assuming I’ve scented my mate. I feel like an asshole that it’s been three years, and I still haven’t had the heart to tell them the truth. I found my mate back in Paris, and he not only ripped my heart out, but he also danced on its grave before setting it on fire and tossing the ashes in the trash.

“I’m sure it’s nothing, pop.” I internalized my heavy sigh and filled my thermos with coffee to bring to work. “Just getting used to all the new smells at the office.”

“Or it’s your mate, and you should find them.” Evie nudged my hip to get around me to reach into the cupboard.

I grunted and hurried to grab my lunch. I didn’t want to talk about it. By not saying anything, I’m giving them false hope, but the pain is still there
