Chapter 245

Author: Jason Chord
The slap across his face knocked Daniel out of his drunken state.

"Ouch!" he cried out, shocked by the sudden pain. He raised his arms to protect himself, furious.

Daniel shouted, "Who the hell is hitting me?"

Another slap followed, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground.

"Scoundrel!"

It was then that he recognized the familiar voice.

Daniel was shocked as he looked. "Dad? Why are you hitting me?"

Albert's voice boomed in response, "You scoundrel! How dare you come back here after everything you've done? Our family has been ruined because of you!"

"What?"

Shocked and confused, Daniel looked past Albert and was stunned. Hackle Manor was no longer standing.

Where was his home now? How could it be gone? He had only gone out for a drink. How could this have happened while he was away?

"Dad, what happened?"

Albert kicked him and cursed, "You're a scoundrel! If you didn't capture Ruby Mosley, would the Hackle family be in this disaster?"

"Ruby Mosley?" Daniel was confused

"Sir, we've finally reached our destination!" Lysander exclaimed to Gideon inside the aircraft, gazing at the majestic Cloud Mountains ahead.Gideon peered down from his seat above, remaining silent. He knew that when Russell had gathered the influential figures from Healers Valley, things could potentially spiral out of control. After all, this was Drammore—it would be a disgrace to let foreign powers dominate the land. Gideon didn't want to depend on favors from the Cabinet Elder for resolution, either. Sometimes, relying on others too much can create animosity toward him.Gideon quickly brought Lysander along, and they flew toward Drammore on the most advanced aircraft of Cipher, which had a speed three times faster than sound. They arrived just in time as the powerful figures from both sides were still building up energy but hadn't yet clashed. The tension was palpable, with energy steadily rising on both sides.Dragon Squad channeled their energy to create a massive air drago

Gideon's voice was like a gust of cold wind piercing through the tense atmosphere.Blake demanded, "Who are you? Why have you come to interfere with the showdown between Dragon Squad and Healers Valley?"Gideon paid him no mind. Instead, he focused on the massive air dragon formed by the masters of Dragon Squad. In one swift motion, he reached out and tapped it gently with his fingers.A powerful beam of light sliced through the night sky, causing the air dragon to disintegrate in an instant. Without missing a beat, Gideon turned toward the Heavenly Sword and crushed it into pieces with his bare hands. The impact of his actions echoed throughout the battlefield with two earth-shattering explosions. The intense energy coming from the leaders of both sides collapsed in that moment, creating a deathly hush over everything.Gideon's face was stern as he looked at Blake and Dean. "This is it. The end." His tone left no room for debate. It was a command. Before Blake could respond, a

"What?" The Cabinet was in disbelief.Adam and Blake had just reported what happened in the Cloud Mountains and described Gideon's appearance. The Elders immediately recognized that it was Gideon. "He was the notorious figure who caused a global storm some time ago."Adam and Blake were shocked to learn this. While many knew about the chaos mentioned, few were aware of Gideon's involvement, as the Elder had kept it tightly under wraps. Even Adam, the chief commander, and Blake, the leader of Dragon Squad, were unaware. At that moment, they felt relieved, knowing that they had been overpowered by someone capable of causing such chaos and driving powerful world-class champions to madness. And yet, they couldn't shake off a feeling of unease. How old was Gideon? To think that he could inspire such fear and control over them… The Elders finally understood why so many world-class champions followed Gideon—his power was unimaginable, inducing both awe and despair in those who challeng

"Well, that's not surprising. Your sister's a war hero, and she's got a lot of pride. She doesn't think much of regular guys. Plus, the Snow family hasn't been doing well lately." Seanno kept smiling bitterly. He sighed and said, "Still, we can't just call off this engagement. We need to be grateful for their past kindness."Ruby said, "Dad, I talked to Gideon. He's planning to come by and break off the engagement himself.""Really?" Seanno looked puzzled and frowned. "Did you pressure him or anything?""Not at all. Gideon just doesn't want to go through with it.""I see." Seanno nodded. "If that's the case, it'll be better for your sister. But we should still show some concern. Since your pharmaceutical company has moved to Goldspire, it's a good chance to support the Snow family more!"Ruby blushed. "Dad, those are minor things. I know how to handle them. What I really want to say is…"Seeing this, Seanno laughed out loud. "When have you been so shy about something? This is a

Ruby still couldn't bring herself to tell her the truth. She introduced herself to the security team and then called Gideon. "Hey, guess who this is?""Have you lost it?""You're such a stick in the mud." Ruby snorted. "We missed out on that meal yesterday. How about we grab lunch today?""Do we really have to?""You promised me yesterday. You can't back out now."Gideon sighed. "Fine. I'll pick you up at YM Tower."Ruby smiled. "Are you worried about me?"The call ended abruptly."Damn it!" Ruby was really ticked off.…Time flew by, and it was a little past 11:00 am. Gideon drove to YM Tower, where Ruby had been waiting for ages. She'd already ditched her security team."Let's hurry up!" "Harvey Cross," Gideon murmured, finally identifying a key figure. He ordered, "Find out Harvey Cross' whereabouts immediately. I want to see him today."Lysander replied, "We've already tracked his movements. The latest update says that Harvey will return to Goldspire tonight."Gideon nodded. "Once he's back, have him come to Beaker Island to meet me.""At once!" Lysander hurried off.…The manor on Mount Elk was brightly lit that night. This was the residence of Harvey, the president of the Sunnigh Commerce Association. A year ago, Harvey had left Goldspire to study abroad. Tonight, he was finally returning.Having deliberately spread the news of his return, many of Goldspire's elite and influential figures gathered at Elk Springs to await him.As the president of the Sunnigh Commerce Association, Harvey wielded considerable power. Under the cover of the night, a group of people arrived at the gates of the Avila estate. At the forefront was a burly man radiating a powerful presence, clearly an expert in his craft. He was Harvey's adopted son, Charlie Cross, one of Harvey's most trusted subordinates."Open the door!" Without a second thought, Charlie began pounding on the gates of the Avila estate. His immense strength caused the gates to rattle violently, cracks appearing with each strike."Who dares act so brazenly?" The captain of the Avila family guards stormed out with his team, his expression dark. "Who are you? Don't you know this is the Avila estate? You must have a death wish!""And who do you think you are to speak to me like that? Scram!"With a single slap, Charlie sent the captain flying. The man was knocked unconscious on the spot. The other guards were stunned. That captain was a seasoned Verdura champion, highly skilled and handsomely paid by the Avila family. Wilder struggled to his feet, glaring at Charlie with cold eyes. "You'll pay a heavy price for what you've done tonight. Not just you, but Harvey, the entire Cross family, and the Sunnigh Commerce Association!"Charlie was filled with disdain. He sneered. "Do you think the Avila family is capable of that? Heh! I'm looking forward to your revenge. Don't disappoint me!"Before long, his subordinates regrouped."Did you find her?""We didn't find Rachel!"Charlie turned to Wilder. "Old man, I hope you're telling the truth. I'll head to Beaker Island right now! Move out!"The group hurriedly departed.Wilder coughed up a few more mouthfuls of blood, laughing grimly. "Heading to Beaker Island will be his death sentence!"As soon as he finished speaking, he fainted."Hurry!""Take Mr. Morrick to the hospital!"Suppressing their anger, the Avilas rushed Wilder to the hospital while beginning to clean up the estate.Meanwhile, one of the family's leading middle-generation figures,

The suns were burning the sky and boiling the sea.At that moment, the only thing Chaim could think about was how brilliant this was.Two suns hung in the sky, the scorching heat boiling the ocean. The spectacle was nothing short of breathtaking and awe-inspiring.From the floating palace, a tall figure slowly walked out as if the entire world revolved around him, wrapped in radiant light."It's finally done." Gideon clenched his fists, his face full of joy. After two or three days of torment, he pushed through and made it. He had successfully transformed. His battle physique had taken another leap. Now, he could call it Tier 2 Solar Titan Physique."There are nine total transformations—nine tiers. This is only the second. There's still a long road ahead."Gideon wasn't arrogant, but it didn't diminish his confidence. Now, he was sure he could trade blows with a peak Supreme without relying on the Beast Supreme Bone."It's ridiculously hard to break into Supreme Realm."In fact

A few minutes later, an aircraft slowly descended, and several figures disembarked. Among them were four people Noel recognized—Chaim and the others he had stopped before. However, that wasn't the important part.Noel's eyes landed on the man leading the group. It was a middle-aged man in a dark green robe. He whispered, "That should be Nethercult's leader. He's powerful."The energy he radiates is of a Supreme, but my gut tells me he's not fully a Supreme yet. At best, he must be half a step away. There's still something missing."Ronan spoke grimly, "They're here for the netherflame. Gideon's in trouble. But that kid could already go toe-to-toe with a Supreme before. Now, after the transformation, his physique should be even stronger. He shouldn't fear Tristan."On the shore, Chaim was confused. "Mr. Leblanc, why are we here?""Idiot," Tristan snapped. "That freak absorbed the netherflame. He'll be desperate for a safe place to suppress it. He couldn't stay in the aircraft forev

"Damn it!" Atop a mountain peak, Chaim slammed the ground in anger, his face dark with rage, breathing heavily. He had been chasing after the heavenly flame for so long, yet he didn't even catch a glimpse of a shadow."Mr. Ballard, calm down. Don't hurt yourself," the three Nethercult guardians tried to comfort him, though they, too, were seething with frustration. They already had it in the bag, but they blew it."They can't get away. I've already reported to Mr. Leblanc. That guy won't escape from his palm.""If Mr. Leblanc takes action himself, there's no way he'll fail.""Let's heal up first."…Inside the floating palace within Tyrant Sea, Jessica was bored out of her mind. The energy on the third level was incredibly intense. She wanted to check it out but didn't have the strength.Elara, on the other hand, was immersed in her training."Elara, aren't you even a little worried about Marshal Snow?""Why should I? He's tough. When Gideon left Drammore, Ronan and Noel followed. They entered Tyrant Sea, too, but didn't get close to the floating palace. It wasn't until Gideon blasted his way out of the floating palace, using the Doombringer Knuckle to shatter the killing formation, that Ronan recognized who he really was, leaving him completely stunned."Noel, you and Gideon both inherited my Doombringer Knuckle. Maybe this is just fate. You two are destined to clash one day." Ronan sighed."I'm looking forward to it," Noel said calmly, though the fighting spirit in his eyes was unmistakable.Ronan was surprised. "I thought you'd try to intercept Gideon and take the netherflame for yourself. I didn't expect you to help him by stopping the ones that were chasing him. Are you confident you've got this?"You should know that once Gideon fuses with the netherflame, his power will spike. I know a thing or two about the Solar Titan Physique. Every time it absorbs a new heavenly flame, it evolves."Once he has

"Marshal Snow, are you alright?" Jessica asked with concern as they burst out of Tyrant Sea and made it to shore. Gideon didn't look too good at the moment."Let's get moving. We have to find a safe place." Gideon could sense powerful members of Nethercult were already on their tail. The three of them rushed into the aircraft.Just as they lifted off, Chaim and the other four appeared right behind and struck without hesitation. "Nethervoid Hands!"A howling wind filled the sky as a swarm of black handprints and claw marks materialized, echoing with ghostly wails and eerie cries. The sinister energy pressed in from all sides, trying to engulf the aircraft."Solar Fist!"The two words echoed like thunder.Blazing light exploded outward, scorching and brilliant, spreading in every direction. The mass of black handprints and claws instantly disintegrated into nothing. The aircraft tore through the sky and vanished."After them!"Chaim's group leaped onto their own aircraft and to

The netherflame, as if it had a will of its own, seized the moment and flared up again with wild, unruly energy.Brantley screamed in pain. The sudden turn of events left Harmoni completely flustered. She shrieked, "Nethercult, you bunch of scumbags! It's bad enough that you used us as bait, but now, you're intercepting at the last second? You've got a death wish!"She instinctively assumed it was Nethercult pulling a bait-and-switch."Nethercult!" Brantley's eyes were bloodshot with rage.Gideon didn't say a word. He struck again, slashing open Brantley's abdomen. The netherflame burst out immediately.Inside Gideon, his Earthcore Flame trembled, and the core of his Solar Titan Physique pulsed with anticipation. Sure enough, it drew the netherflame in like a magnet. With Gideon guiding it, the netherflame turned into a stream of ghostly green light that surged into his body."No!" Brantley roared. He had paid such a heavy price. Just as he was about to seal the netherflame,

Brantley truly lived up to his reputation. As soon as the netherflame entered his body, he immediately sat down cross-legged and began channeling his energy. His Martial God Physique reawakened, and he tried to forcefully suppress the netherflame. His body would turn blazing red one moment, as if it were about to melt, and then be covered in frost and ice shards the next. The alternating waves of fire and ice quickly tore through the internal structure of Brantley's Martial God Physique, and his condition kept worsening."No!"Harmoni was terrified. She quickly spat out an inner core—a treasure her father had given her. It was said to be the inner core of a half apex overbeast. However, it was badly damaged and no longer contained the full power of its original level. She instantly sent the inner core into Brantley's body. It exploded instantly, releasing a surge of energy that began to repair his damaged body. But it still wasn't enough. The netherflame was far too powerful. It

"Once you get the netherflame, your Martial God Physique will fully awaken in no time. When that happens, even Gideon won't be a threat."We can track Gideon down, crush him, and strip his Solar Titan Physique at the source. We'll also get the Beast Supreme Bone! Everything will be yours!" Harmoni shouted, cheering Brantley on.Gideon sneered. So, that was their plan.At this moment, Gideon couldn't help but admire the power of the Pharaoh's Shroud. They were just 100 yards away, yet neither Brantley nor Harmoni noticed them.Of course, it might have been because their attention was fully locked on breaking through to the third floor that they let their guards down."Open!" Brantley roared. His energy surged, and behind him, a phantom slowly took shape, radiating a fierce warrior-like energy. That phantom looked like a war god.Brantley kept swinging his fists, perfectly synchronized with the movements of the war god phantom behind him. Each strike made the floating palace tremb

Sure enough, floating in the deep sea ahead was a palace. It was pitch-black, and in the darkness of the deep sea, it was genuinely hard to spot. The glowing fish darted into the floating palace. Thanks to its golden light, Gideon was finally able to see that the palace gates were open.Strangely enough, the entrance seemed to carry some sort of mysterious power that blocked out the seawater completely. Not a single drop made it inside the palace."Marshal Snow, someone beat us to it.""It's fine. That just means they'll go and clear the way for us," Gideon said calmly. It didn't matter who got the heavenly flame first. As long as they weren't peak Supremes, he was confident he could take them on."Now that we've found our destination, do you two want to head back to shore first?" Gideon asked.Elara shook her head. "No. I'm not some helpless little thing. I've learned all the secret techniques you taught me. I can handle myself."Jessica chimed in proudly, "Marshal Snow, don't
