Chapter 252

Author: Jason Chord
Under the cover of the night, a group of people arrived at the gates of the Avila estate.

At the forefront was a burly man radiating a powerful presence, clearly an expert in his craft. He was Harvey's adopted son, Charlie Cross, one of Harvey's most trusted subordinates.

"Open the door!" Without a second thought, Charlie began pounding on the gates of the Avila estate.

His immense strength caused the gates to rattle violently, cracks appearing with each strike.

"Who dares act so brazenly?" The captain of the Avila family guards stormed out with his team, his expression dark. "Who are you? Don't you know this is the Avila estate? You must have a death wish!"

"And who do you think you are to speak to me like that? Scram!"

With a single slap, Charlie sent the captain flying. The man was knocked unconscious on the spot.

The other guards were stunned.

That captain was a seasoned Verdura champion, highly skilled and handsomely paid by the Avila family. Yet, he was knocked out cold w

Wilder struggled to his feet, glaring at Charlie with cold eyes. "You'll pay a heavy price for what you've done tonight. Not just you, but Harvey, the entire Cross family, and the Sunnigh Commerce Association!"Charlie was filled with disdain. He sneered. "Do you think the Avila family is capable of that? Heh! I'm looking forward to your revenge. Don't disappoint me!"Before long, his subordinates regrouped."Did you find her?""We didn't find Rachel!"Charlie turned to Wilder. "Old man, I hope you're telling the truth. I'll head to Beaker Island right now! Move out!"The group hurriedly departed.Wilder coughed up a few more mouthfuls of blood, laughing grimly. "Heading to Beaker Island will be his death sentence!"As soon as he finished speaking, he fainted."Hurry!""Take Mr. Morrick to the hospital!"Suppressing their anger, the Avilas rushed Wilder to the hospital while beginning to clean up the estate.Meanwhile, one of the family's leading middle-generation figures,

Charlie assumed he had simply missed his target. He stomped his foot again, attempting to replicate his earlier move. However, the pebble didn't budge this time."Huh?" Charlie was startled. He exerted more force but found the pebble completely immovable. What was going on?What Charlie didn't know was that all the stones around him had been locked in place by Gideon's presence. There was no way he could move them."Can't shake it loose?" Gideon's face was filled with mockery. "Why don't you just pick it up with your hand?""How dare you insult me?" Charlie erupted in fury. "A master cannot be insulted! Die!"This time, Charlie charged forward himself. In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance and threw a punch aimed directly at Gideon's head. However, an overwhelming energy suddenly enveloped Charlie, freezing him in place. His entire body was locked up, unable to move.It was as if he had fallen into an icy abyss, the cold penetrating to his very bones. An uncontrollabl

Charlie's trembling voice caught Harvey off guard. "What happened?""I'm at Beaker Island. Rachel is here, too. I've been beaten!""What?" Harvey was both shocked and enraged.Charlie was a martial arts master and had even brought along an elite squad, yet he had been beaten. Judging from his tone, it sounded severe.Anywhere else, Harvey would have erupted in anger already. But Charlie had mentioned Beaker Island—a government-restricted area. Could it be that someone powerful resided on the island?"Dad, what's going on? Why hasn't Charlie brought Rachel back yet?" Xavier, his face flushed from drinking, swaggered over with a young heiress draped on his arm."I'm heading over now," Harvey said into the phone before hanging up. His expression turned grave. "Your brother has been attacked on Beaker Island and wants me to go there!"Xavier was incredulous.Harvey asked, "Is Mr. Manson still awake?""He's not asleep yet.""You stay here and continue hosting the banquet. Malcolm's face was twisted in an excited, feral grin. That look made Rachel and the other three women extremely uncomfortable, disgusted, and even a little fearful. They instinctively moved closer to Gideon. On the other hand, Gideon lounged on a recliner, swirling a glass of red wine, his eyes half-closed. He didn't even spare the visitors a direct glance.Harvey barked, "Who dared injure my adopted son? And who summoned me to Beaker Island? Kid, was it you?"At this moment, Gideon finally opened his eyes. Glancing briefly at Harvey, he said, "Harvey, don't you recognize me?"Harvey froze. The voice sounded familiar. He focused on Gideon, scrutinizing him carefully before his expression shifted. "Gideon! You're Gideon Snow!""So, you finally remember.""You were supposed to be dead! How are you here?" Harvey was utterly shocked.Years ago, when Gideon was still part of the prestigious families in Goldspire, the Sunnigh Commerce Association hadn't yet risen to its current powe

Was all of this Gideon's doing? Without even lifting a finger, he suppressed Malcolm simply through his energy? For him to subdue a half-transcendent, what level of power did that make him?Harvey shivered uncontrollably, realizing that Gideon was an actual transcendent. No wonder he could claim dominion over Beaker Island! No wonder he had been so fearless earlier!Harvey involuntarily fell to his knees, barely daring to breathe. Cold sweat poured down his face like rain."You've committed countless atrocities and harmed countless lives, yet you still wish to survive?" Gideon sneered."No!" Malcolm shrieked. "Don't kill me! I'm a disciple of Daemonium Sect. If you kill me, there will be dire consequences—"Before he could finish his sentence, Malcolm exploded. His entire body was torn apart, leaving nothing intact. He was dead beyond question."Daemonium Sect?" Gideon showed no concern. "Lysander!""Here!" Lysander, who had been silently grilling meat and doing chores, hurried

"Mr. Snow!" Mose greeted."Mr. Pead, sorry to bother you again," Gideon said.Laughter came from the other end of the line. "Don't be so polite. I'm always happy to hear from you. Is there something important? Could it be about the Hackle family again?"Gideon replied, "The Hackles are nothing more than insignificant ants to me. I don't give them a second thought. What I want to ask is, do you know the location of the royal family?""The royal family!" Mose lifted an eyebrow. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, "Why are you suddenly asking about this? Don't tell me a royal family member has provoked you. As far as I know, the royal family members aren't allowed to leave their secluded territories without permission. They shouldn't have any contact with you."Gideon said, "You're overthinking it, Mr. Pead. I'm simply looking for someone. I have a friend within the royal family, and I'd like to meet her."Because of the gravity of the situation, Gideon refrained from reveali

Harvey's mind raced. But figuring out how to persuade Gideon to help him was a real challenge and would require careful planning. When he returned to Elk Manor, something felt off. The estate was eerily silent. As he walked in, he saw that it was completely empty. The elites and wealthy guests were nowhere to be found."Dad!" a shout rang out.Harvey turned toward the voice and immediately froze. Xavier was kneeling on the ground."Who did this?" Harvey roared. The lights suddenly brightened, revealing a group of people cloaked in black robes sitting in the hall. There were eight of them. Their faces and bodies were concealed, leaving only their eyes exposed. Their presence was chilling. Just one glance made Harvey's hair stand on end.Not daring to act recklessly, Harvey asked, "Who are you people? As far as I know, I have never met you and should have no grievances with you."One of the black-robed figures spoke in a raspy voice, "We're here to find our junior disciple.""J

"Father! Mother! Where are you?" Gideon called out.Late at night, he stood alone by the shore, lost in thought. With some clues finally in hand, he desperately hoped everything would go smoothly. The sea breeze blew gently. Ripples danced across the water's surface.Unbeknownst to him, Rachel was watching from the distant woods. Seeing his lonely silhouette filled her with sorrow. He was so alone. Though he stood at the top of the world, unmatched and unparalleled, he seemed utterly out of place in this world.Rachel wished so much that she could go up and embrace Gideon.Meanwhile, Harvey had already driven to the bridge. "Gentlemen, that's Beaker Island!""Get down." The black-robed men stepped out.Confused, Harvey asked, "Gentlemen, aren't you going to Beaker Island? Or should I go ahead and inform Gideon and have him crawl over to meet you?"The black-robed men didn't respond. One of them squinted and sneered, "That young man on the beach matches your description. "Is that so? I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully, it won't be as weak and useless as that so-called Decree of Decay!" Gideon remarked. He stood tall within the prison of light, making no moves, simply waiting for the next decree. This was his first clash with a powerhouse from The Light Council. He was eager to see their true abilities. After all, The Light Council was one of the most powerful and mysterious factions in the world. This was exactly the kind of intense battle Gideon craved. Only through such encounters could he push his limits and force himself to grow."You won't be disappointed." Orabella spread her arms wide, chanting once more, as she issued another decree, "Mind Shatter!"In an instant, Gideon's mind reeled as if struck by lightning. A splitting headache tore through his skull. His vision darkened, and his thoughts grew hazy.It didn't stop there."Attack!" The three Cardinals seized the opportunity to launch a relentless, coordinated assault.Gideon snorte

"You have a good physique, but it's still far from enough." Gideon sighed. In an instant, a chill ran down Vicar's spine. The next second, his fist shattered completely.Vicar let out a miserable scream, echoing through the canyon, making everyone's skin crawl.Gideon still hadn't let go.Vicar's expression turned ruthless. He knew if he didn't make a decisive move now, the consequences would be disastrous. He decided to sever his own arm and retreated at full speed."Generalissimo Tancred!" The two dukes rushed forward. At this moment, Vicar scowled. It was not just from the pain but from the overwhelming humiliation. The mighty Vicar had been forced to cut off his own arm, and in front of The Light Council, no less. What a joke!Suddenly, Orabella spoke up, "You're strong."She stepped forward. A faint halo of light surrounded her, making her seem divine and untouchable."But it is unwise to stand against The Light Council.""My apologies, but it was The Light Council who c

Nothing but ants? Vicar and the others froze. They had just been called nothing but ants. It was unbelievable. This was the first time in their lives they had ever heard such an insult. Their fury, especially the Cardinals', erupted like wildfire."How arrogant!""Do you think you're invincible just because you ambushed Leomer?"Gideon had defeated Leomer head-on, yet to them, it was nothing more than a sneak attack. However, Gideon couldn't be bothered to argue. He stepped forward. A divine, overwhelming energy radiated from him, and the surrounding temperature skyrocketed under the sheer heat of his presence."The Light Council? Heh! That's all you amount to. I heard you're backing Tylland, stirring up troubles at Dasovia's borders. You've got some nerve!"At the end of the day, Gideon was still a Dasovian. In foreign lands, protecting his homeland's dignity was not just his duty. It was his responsibility."Who are you?""Gideon Snow."Just two words from him felt thundero

Across The Light Council, aside from the Pope, no one else at his age had mastered the seventh level of the Divine Light Blade. This included the ten Legion Commanders. Even the extraordinarily gifted Orabella hadn't reached this level.Yet, Leomer had succeeded!"The seventh level…" Orabella's gaze flickered as she murmured, "Leomer truly is formidable.""With this skill alone, when Leomer steps down as Legion Commander, he will have a chance to become an Envoy of Light."The Envoy of Light was a special title and position. The Pope personally nominated the candidates, who were then elected through a vote. This role was not bound by The Light Council's regulations. Envoys of Light answered directly to the Pope, who had full authority over them.Though they held no official power within The Light Council, their status was unquestionably high as the Pope's most trusted aides. Some had even gone on to inherit the title of the Pope. Throughout The Light Council's history, many Envoy

The Guardian Legion of The Light Council held immense significance. It was one of the most crucial legions. Its duty was to safeguard The Light Council. However, for Leomer Peele, there was one person he vowed to protect above all else. That person was Orabella. Now that he had her approval, Leomer had no reservations. Gripping his massive sword, he strode onto the battlefield."Divine Light Blade." Leomer's long hair stood on end as his greatsword radiated brilliance. All he did was a simple vertical slash with no elaborate technique. Yet, with this single downward strike, it was as if the world had split apart. A sword energy wave spanning 880 yards materialized out of thin air.In an instant, the combined energy of the champions was severed."Dragon Severance!" Leomer swung his sword again. It was still a simple sword movement, but this time, it was a horizontal slash. The massive energy dragon formed by the champions, already split open, was now completely severed. It collap

At this moment, deep within the Great Rift of Death, in a territory filled with a sinister presence, a group of men and women were trapped. Their bodies bore various degrees of severe injuries."They're attacking again!" Ian gritted his teeth.Seeing another terrifying energy blast descending upon them, the champions once again joined forces to shatter it. However, they were truly reaching their limit. They fled there upon being pursued by Tylland's army and The Light Council's elite forces, only to be found and trapped again. The Light Council had somehow acquired a batch of high-tech weaponry that was capable of firing powerful energy beams, leaving the champions in utter misery.Outside their encampment, a group of figures radiating overwhelming power loomed atop a small hill. There were three Cardinals of The Light Council, two Legion Commanders, Tylland's supreme commander, and two royal dukes of Tylland. It was a total of eight elite powerhouses."The time is about right.

"Eye Technique! Phantom's Serenade!" Martin yelled. The eerie glow bursting from his eyes shot into Humphrey's gaze. Instantly, Humphrey seemed frozen in place, as if bound by an immobilization spell. It was like his very soul had been taken."What?" In the distance, Bertram, who was about to slaughter Martin's subordinates, was filled with disbelief. "The Eye Technique! Good Lord, he actually knows the Eye Technique!"Bertram was shaken. Everyone in the martial world knew that the Eye Technique was incredibly rare and extremely difficult to master.A single misstep, and at best, one could go blind. If things turned for the worse, the backlash could destroy the brain beyond salvation. Even a deity wouldn't be able to save them.Yet, Martin had succeeded in mastering it!"This is bad!" Bertram's expression changed drastically.Sure enough, Martin didn't hesitate. He charged forward with the ferocity of a mountain tiger and the speed of a lightning panther, rushing straight at Hum

"My apologies!"Out of nowhere, two words came from behind Bertram, making his hair stand on end.Martin had somehow appeared behind him.Bertram's face changed drastically, but it was too late. Before the attack even landed, the terrifying force had already torn through his red robe."Judgment Spear! Slash!" At the brink of life and death, a long spear tore through the air, carrying an explosive roar, ferocious beyond measure. It locked onto Martin.A chill ran down Martin's spine. Without a moment's hesitation, he abandoned his strike against Bertram and dodged immediately. With a thud, the spear struck the ground. It landed horizontally in front of Bertram, saving his life. Bertram was completely drained, as if he had just walked out of the gates of hell.Meanwhile, Martin fixed his gaze on the man approaching from the distance. "Martin, surrender. You can't halt our progression on your own. The Pope and King Franco have commanded the destruction of the 39 cities held by the rebel forces within a single day. "In fact, it won't even take that long. Once we capture you—the key figure of the rebellion—the other cities will fall without resistance. "You are a skilled individual, reaching the pinnacle of the sixth rank in transcendence. Even within The Light Council, you would be significant. If you choose to surrender, I can introduce you to the Council," Bertram spoke with immense arrogance. His tone implied he was offering Martin a favor. Yet, Martin felt nothing but contempt. "The Light Council? Ha! There are only a few members there worth acknowledging. The Pope and the commander of the ten elite legions are among them. But you, Bertram, are the last person I would respect!" "Hmm?" Bertram's expression grew grim. Fury overtook him. "You're so obstinate! It appears you're intent on resisting to the end.
