Chapter 252

Author: Jason Chord
Under the cover of the night, a group of people arrived at the gates of the Avila estate.

At the forefront was a burly man radiating a powerful presence, clearly an expert in his craft. He was Harvey's adopted son, Charlie Cross, one of Harvey's most trusted subordinates.

"Open the door!" Without a second thought, Charlie began pounding on the gates of the Avila estate.

His immense strength caused the gates to rattle violently, cracks appearing with each strike.

"Who dares act so brazenly?" The captain of the Avila family guards stormed out with his team, his expression dark. "Who are you? Don't you know this is the Avila estate? You must have a death wish!"

"And who do you think you are to speak to me like that? Scram!"

With a single slap, Charlie sent the captain flying. The man was knocked unconscious on the spot.

The other guards were stunned.

That captain was a seasoned Verdura champion, highly skilled and handsomely paid by the Avila family. Yet, he was knocked out cold w

Wilder struggled to his feet, glaring at Charlie with cold eyes. "You'll pay a heavy price for what you've done tonight. Not just you, but Harvey, the entire Cross family, and the Sunnigh Commerce Association!"Charlie was filled with disdain. He sneered. "Do you think the Avila family is capable of that? Heh! I'm looking forward to your revenge. Don't disappoint me!"Before long, his subordinates regrouped."Did you find her?""We didn't find Rachel!"Charlie turned to Wilder. "Old man, I hope you're telling the truth. I'll head to Beaker Island right now! Move out!"The group hurriedly departed.Wilder coughed up a few more mouthfuls of blood, laughing grimly. "Heading to Beaker Island will be his death sentence!"As soon as he finished speaking, he fainted."Hurry!""Take Mr. Morrick to the hospital!"Suppressing their anger, the Avilas rushed Wilder to the hospital while beginning to clean up the estate.Meanwhile, one of the family's leading middle-generation figures,

Charlie assumed he had simply missed his target. He stomped his foot again, attempting to replicate his earlier move. However, the pebble didn't budge this time."Huh?" Charlie was startled. He exerted more force but found the pebble completely immovable. What was going on?What Charlie didn't know was that all the stones around him had been locked in place by Gideon's presence. There was no way he could move them."Can't shake it loose?" Gideon's face was filled with mockery. "Why don't you just pick it up with your hand?""How dare you insult me?" Charlie erupted in fury. "A master cannot be insulted! Die!"This time, Charlie charged forward himself. In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance and threw a punch aimed directly at Gideon's head. However, an overwhelming energy suddenly enveloped Charlie, freezing him in place. His entire body was locked up, unable to move.It was as if he had fallen into an icy abyss, the cold penetrating to his very bones. An uncontrollabl

Charlie's trembling voice caught Harvey off guard. "What happened?""I'm at Beaker Island. Rachel is here, too. I've been beaten!""What?" Harvey was both shocked and enraged.Charlie was a martial arts master and had even brought along an elite squad, yet he had been beaten. Judging from his tone, it sounded severe.Anywhere else, Harvey would have erupted in anger already. But Charlie had mentioned Beaker Island—a government-restricted area. Could it be that someone powerful resided on the island?"Dad, what's going on? Why hasn't Charlie brought Rachel back yet?" Xavier, his face flushed from drinking, swaggered over with a young heiress draped on his arm."I'm heading over now," Harvey said into the phone before hanging up. His expression turned grave. "Your brother has been attacked on Beaker Island and wants me to go there!"Xavier was incredulous.Harvey asked, "Is Mr. Manson still awake?""He's not asleep yet.""You stay here and continue hosting the banquet. I'll hea

Malcolm's face was twisted in an excited, feral grin. That look made Rachel and the other three women extremely uncomfortable, disgusted, and even a little fearful. They instinctively moved closer to Gideon. On the other hand, Gideon lounged on a recliner, swirling a glass of red wine, his eyes half-closed. He didn't even spare the visitors a direct glance.Harvey barked, "Who dared injure my adopted son? And who summoned me to Beaker Island? Kid, was it you?"At this moment, Gideon finally opened his eyes. Glancing briefly at Harvey, he said, "Harvey, don't you recognize me?"Harvey froze. The voice sounded familiar. He focused on Gideon, scrutinizing him carefully before his expression shifted. "Gideon! You're Gideon Snow!""So, you finally remember.""You were supposed to be dead! How are you here?" Harvey was utterly shocked.Years ago, when Gideon was still part of the prestigious families in Goldspire, the Sunnigh Commerce Association hadn't yet risen to its current powe

Was all of this Gideon's doing? Without even lifting a finger, he suppressed Malcolm simply through his energy? For him to subdue a half-transcendent, what level of power did that make him?Harvey shivered uncontrollably, realizing that Gideon was an actual transcendent. No wonder he could claim dominion over Beaker Island! No wonder he had been so fearless earlier!Harvey involuntarily fell to his knees, barely daring to breathe. Cold sweat poured down his face like rain."You've committed countless atrocities and harmed countless lives, yet you still wish to survive?" Gideon sneered."No!" Malcolm shrieked. "Don't kill me! I'm a disciple of Daemonium Sect. If you kill me, there will be dire consequences—"Before he could finish his sentence, Malcolm exploded. His entire body was torn apart, leaving nothing intact. He was dead beyond question."Daemonium Sect?" Gideon showed no concern. "Lysander!""Here!" Lysander, who had been silently grilling meat and doing chores, hurried

"Mr. Snow!" Mose greeted."Mr. Pead, sorry to bother you again," Gideon said.Laughter came from the other end of the line. "Don't be so polite. I'm always happy to hear from you. Is there something important? Could it be about the Hackle family again?"Gideon replied, "The Hackles are nothing more than insignificant ants to me. I don't give them a second thought. What I want to ask is, do you know the location of the royal family?""The royal family!" Mose lifted an eyebrow. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, "Why are you suddenly asking about this? Don't tell me a royal family member has provoked you. As far as I know, the royal family members aren't allowed to leave their secluded territories without permission. They shouldn't have any contact with you."Gideon said, "You're overthinking it, Mr. Pead. I'm simply looking for someone. I have a friend within the royal family, and I'd like to meet her."Because of the gravity of the situation, Gideon refrained from reveali

Harvey's mind raced. But figuring out how to persuade Gideon to help him was a real challenge and would require careful planning. When he returned to Elk Manor, something felt off. The estate was eerily silent. As he walked in, he saw that it was completely empty. The elites and wealthy guests were nowhere to be found."Dad!" a shout rang out.Harvey turned toward the voice and immediately froze. Xavier was kneeling on the ground."Who did this?" Harvey roared. The lights suddenly brightened, revealing a group of people cloaked in black robes sitting in the hall. There were eight of them. Their faces and bodies were concealed, leaving only their eyes exposed. Their presence was chilling. Just one glance made Harvey's hair stand on end.Not daring to act recklessly, Harvey asked, "Who are you people? As far as I know, I have never met you and should have no grievances with you."One of the black-robed figures spoke in a raspy voice, "We're here to find our junior disciple.""J

"Father! Mother! Where are you?" Gideon called out.Late at night, he stood alone by the shore, lost in thought. Ripples danced across the water's surface.Unbeknownst to him, Rachel was watching from the distant woods. Seeing his lonely silhouette filled her with sorrow. He was so alone. Though he stood at the top of the world, unmatched and unparalleled, he seemed utterly out of place in this world.Rachel wished so much that she could go up and embrace Gideon.Meanwhile, Harvey had already driven to the bridge. "Gentlemen, that's Beaker Island!""Get down." The black-robed men stepped out.Confused, Harvey asked, "Gentlemen, aren't you going to Beaker Island? Gideon didn't rush to leave the city. He knew Ewan wasn't stupid. Going after him now wouldn't be a smart move. It could bring disaster down on the Spirale Clan. Ewan had wanted him for an experiment. Now that it was done, his goal had been met. There was no need to make an enemy out of Gideon. The leader of Ewan's secret force, Fabian Hunter, appeared quietly and asked for instructions, "Mr. Moore, should we keep tabs on him?"Ewan shook his head. "No need. As long as he doesn't stir up trouble, let him be. Also… let Snowy know that Gideon's free now." …Snowy was a mess. She'd gone to Ewan looking for information on Gideon, only to realize Winter was gone. She was nowhere to be found. Snowy was scared. What if Ewan had captured her? "Ms. Snowy," a maid approached. "Mr. Moore asked me to inform you that Gideon's free. He's still in the city.""For real?" Snowy's eyes lit up. She was just about to rush out the door when suddenly, there was a shout. Gideon had thrown everything he had into that punch. But to his frustration, it didn't do the kind of damage he'd hoped. Then, chunks of debris began falling off Ewan's body, splattered with streaks of blood."Amazing!" Ewan said as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. A twisted smile tugged at his lips, and he let out a few rough coughs. "That punch had some bite, Gideon. I'll give you that. If I wasn't wearing top-grade, custom-forged body armor, you would've crushed me." He looked down at the ruined pieces on the floor. "Quite a shame, though. This armor's been with me for over a decade. It took a fortune in resources to make it, and now, you've turned it into scrap." So that was it.Gideon felt a wave of relief. For a second, he'd doubted himself. He thought maybe the gap between him and Ewan was way bigger than expected. But it wasn't him. It was that top-grade armor. No wonder. That thing was paper-thin and still held up under a full-power hit. Tha

Time felt like a blur. To Gideon, it felt like days, maybe months—hell, maybe even years—had gone by. Time stretched endlessly in his mind.He was starting to regain consciousness. But he couldn't move. Or rather, he couldn't even feel his own body—just a strange, overwhelming emptiness. His eyes refused to open, and he couldn't make a sound. In his mind, though, everything was razor-sharp. He saw chains—endless streams of them—no different from before. But there was something off. There were some slight changes that he couldn't quite name. The gene sequences curled and twisted around him, glowing in wild colors like some kind of living art piece. It was beautiful, chaotic, and terrifying all at once. "What the hell is that?" Something caught his eye. One sequence looked completely different. He couldn't explain how or why, but he knew it—that the GeneX Pill had altered one.Was he seriously mutating into some freak? What the hell? His heart started racing with panic.

"Keep going. Stay sharp while you work. Keep all weapons ready in case Gideon wakes up and goes violent. Report to me immediately if anything happens," Ewan ordered. With that, he turned and left the secret chamber, clearly deep in thought.Something didn't sit right with him. Was it Gideon? No, it was something else."Someone, get in here.""Yes, Mr. Moore?" A group of men in black appeared inside the main hall. These people were Ewan's secret force, trained in the shadows and loyal only to him."We're in a tight spot," he said. "Crank the city's surveillance to the max. I want every corner watched. If anything unusual pops up, I want to know before it even happens."He added, "Especially outsiders. If someone slipped through the cracks, report to me immediately!""Yes, Mr. Moore."The squad disappeared just as fast as they came.Ewan turned to the giant monitor and hit play. The screen filled with footage of Blue River. At that moment, that was the only way into the city.

Outside the city, chaos brewed in the coalition army's camp."It's been half a month, and we still haven't made any progress. If this deadlock continues, we'll get nowhere.""The Spirale Clan only lost three defensive lines. Other than that, they’ve barely suffered any real damage. Instead, they're watching from the sidelines.""Now, even the leaders stop fighting. Samson and Lucifer haven't shown up for days, and the top ten legions on both sides have all gone quiet."Rhett, Emmanuel, and other faction leaders, along with representatives of the eight royal families, all voiced their grievances. However, Kingsley and the other world-class champions remained calm and unshaken. They believed in Gideon.Countless times before, he had faced perilous obstacles and life-or-death crises, only to turn the tide at the last moment. This time would be no different."Stop your whining. If you're scared, impatient, or losing your courage, then take your forces and leave.""If anyone dares t

"Winter, I missed you so much… You're finally here… Huhuhu…" Snowy's eyes brimmed with tears as she sobbed.Winter gently stroked Snowy's silky hair and asked with concern, "You haven't been through any hardships in the Spirale Clan, have you?""Don't worry, Winter. I'm fine. I acknowledged Ewan as my godfather, so my status is quite high. No one dares to mistreat me. It's just that a few of the direct heirs keep harassing me, but that's all. They wouldn't dare take it too far.""That's good." Winter finally felt at ease.Snowy asked, "Winter, how did you get in?""I came through Blue River.""That river is destructive to the human body! Winter, are you okay?""I'm fine."The two leaned on each other in the pavilion, chatting for a long time, sharing everything that had happened during their time apart."What?" When Snow heard that Winter had given her pure-essence core to Gideon, she was both shocked and furious."Winter, you fool! Men are all untrustworthy scoundrels! How c

At that moment, Gideon found himself in a strange state. He could clearly feel his body undergoing changes. However, he couldn't tell what exactly was changing. In his mind, eerie images surfaced—chains twisting and intertwining, floating through the void."Is this the DNA strand?" Gideon was fascinated. It was these very chains that determined every aspect of a person's traits, a masterpiece of nature."This structure is truly flawless." Gideon was in awe.Just then, a burst of radiant light shot forth as if carrying the momentum of a thousand armies. The chains seemed to sense the threat and immediately began whirling, tangling together to form a spherical mass."That's…"Gideon was startled. He knew exactly what that light was. It was the mysterious genetic sequence contained within the GeneX Pill. The intruder had begun its assault.A silent, soundless war erupted. The intruder slammed into the sphere, attempting to tear an opening, while the sphere spun wildly in defense

Gideon pondered for a moment. "I have a question. Why me? If you want to run experiments, there are plenty of people in the Spirale Clan. You could've done this long ago.""No, no, no." Ewan shook his head repeatedly. "This GeneX Pill is obviously something terrifying. Ordinary people wouldn't survive it. I needed someone who had cultivated a special physique."In fact, over the past year, I have found several warriors with battle-forged bodies. But their battle physiques were just average."For the experiment to succeed, I want the best battle physique. Your Solar Titan Physique… is simply the perfect choice."Gideon, I have high hopes for you."Ewan's eyes gleamed with excitement, as if he could already see the experiment's success. Then, three Dragonsbane Mechs surrounded Gideon."Let's warm up first."The battle erupted instantly.Gideon clashed with the three Dragonsbane Mechs. The Dragonsbane Mech back in Beaumere had already been damaged, which was why Gideon had been

"Conquering the world, huh? You're certainly ambitious," Gideon mocked, his presence intensifying to its zenith. "You want me to take the GeneX Pill and use me for your experiment? That's just a fantasy." "Gideon, you are indeed formidable. Honestly, I'm not sure I could defeat you in the open. But here, in this main hall and secret chamber, I have complete control. Neither you nor even Lucifer and Samson combined could cause much trouble here." As Ewan spoke, the secret room began to tremble, and three Dragonsbane Mechs emerged. Additionally, a high-tech weapon the size of a person slowly rolled into view behind Ewan, exerting more pressure on Gideon than the mechs. "Allow me to introduce this. This is a Dragonsbane Mech..." "I already know. I captured one in Beaumere." Ewan's expression shifted, and he asked gravely, "What happened in Beaumere?" "Wiped out!" Gideon curtly replied.Ewan's face flinched slightly. He took a deep breath to control his anger. "That explains i
