Chapter 182

Author: Jason Chord
Gideon and Arnold planned to take a break once they finished their drinks. However, before they could do so, Gideon's mind drifted to Rachel.

"Could she still be waiting for me at the restaurant?"

He felt that he hadn't been nicer to her. Rachel had done so much for him during this time, but he hadn't really appreciated it.

"Are you going out?" Arnold asked.

"I have something I need to take care of," replied Gideon.

He didn't wait for Elara and quickly drove off. He had a sense of urgency as he made his way to Dawn Restaurant.

However, Rachel was missing without a trace, and her phone appeared to be turned off. So he reached out to Maggie.

"Mr. Snow, didn't Ms. Avila have a dinner date with you?"

"Got it!" Hanging up the phone, Gideon couldn't help but smile wryly.

Rachel's phone was off, and she hadn't gone back to the company. It appeared she was upset. But never mind that now. She was a woman. She'd bounce back soon enough.

"Hurry up!" Gideon roared.Out of nowhere, Maggie called and said, "Mr. Snow, has something happened to Ms. Avila? I'm Dawn Restaurant, and I heard she may have been abducted!"It had been a while since Ms. Avila put effort into her appearance. Today, she took the time to dress up and invited a boy to join her for dinner at Dawn Restaurant. How could this happen? Mr. Snow, weren't you there at that time?"Maggie's words pierced Gideon's heart like a knife, causing him to feel overwhelming regret. His tone was intense and ominous as he said, "I will find Rachel and bring her back safely, no matter the cost. If anyone has harmed her, they will pay dearly for it. I am not afraid to turn Emberstone upside down to get answers."After hanging up the phone, Gideon shouted, "Faster!"The pilot was horrified and pushed the speed to the maximum. At the same time, Nino and Leopold, the two leaders in the criminal underworld of Goldspire, followed Gideon's instructions and sprang into actio

After Keith's request came through, Terry wasted no time in rallying his troops and hurrying to Emberstone with urgency.…Adrian was completely clueless. He had no idea what kind of powerful being he had provoked. His actions were about to bring a catastrophic disaster to Emberstone and the Linc family. In the afternoon, Adrian's Bentley pulled up to a huge manor. The grandeur of the place was breathtaking, with two white marble pegasus statues flanking the entrance. These pieces were adorned with gold and deep-sea black pearls for their eyes, making them worth a staggering 100 million dollars each. This was the mansion of the Lincs.Above the main entrance, in big fancy letters, it said "Linc Manor". Back in the day, only the homes of important officials and aristocrats were called "mansions".In modern times, there was only one mansion in Emberstone, known as Linc Manor. Its prestigious title spoke for itself!"Mr. Linc has returned." A cluster of attractive maids hurried ov

Truman was in the middle of his meditation when he heard a commotion. He opened his eyes and shot a glare at Adrian. "How old are you? Why are you still so impulsive?""Grandpa, I'm just so excited."Truman asked with great interest, "Oh? What's got you so happy? Could it be that you've hooked up with another beautiful woman?"Adrian smiled and said, "Sort of. This beauty has quite a remarkable identity!"Truman's brows furrowed. "What have you done now, you brat?""I wouldn't exactly call it causing trouble, but some may see it that way. Grandpa, I'll cut to the chase. I've captured Rachel Avila, head of the Avila family and chairperson of Avila Group in Goldspire!"Initially, Truman believed that Adrian had merely stirred up some drama in Emberstone. In that scenario, no matter who it was, it could be easily handled. But what he didn't anticipate was that this troublemaker had also caused trouble in Goldspire."You've captured the head of the Avila family in Goldspire?" Withou

"Rachel, don't be scared. Your grandfather, Simon, and I were once rivals. You have nothing to fear by marrying my grandson. The Linc family is just as prestigious as the Avila family."Before we continue, I want to ask you something. Is it true that Simon has disappeared?"Rachel stared at Truman and said coldly, "My grandfather is doing just fine. Thank you for your concern!"Truman's brows furrowed. "That doesn't make sense. If he never disappeared, how could you have become the head of the Avila family and gained control of Avila Group?"With a sneer, Rachel spoke coldly, "My grandfather had unmatched bravery. He entrusted me with the entire Avila family without fear that I would destroy it. Even if I brought chaos and destruction, he had unwavering confidence in his ability to fix any situation."That's true self-assurance. Do you possess that level of faith? Would you risk handing the control of the Linc family over to Adrian?""You!" Truman's brows knitted together in ange

"How many Rachels could there possibly be in Goldspire? Wasn't she the head of the Avila family? She was also known as the top young female entrepreneur in all of Verdura!""Really? Or is it just a rumor?""It's true, but I just saw Rachel from afar. She's stunning, like a queen who could take down an empire with her beauty. I can't help feeling envious of Mr. Linc for having such a breathtaking woman by his side."Silence filled the room.In Linc Manor, the members of the Linc family were talking about it heatedly. The Linc family had a thriving bloodline. It hadn't been long before there were already over a thousand family members in the manor, and this was just a part of them. Many more were still on their way.The manor was decorated with fairy lights and colored streamers. The household staff were busy arranging everything in a hurry. There was an air of festivity all around. However, they had no idea that a crisis was about to descend. At this moment, Gideon had already arr

Truman and a group of people came to the front gates. They looked around and finally fixed their eyes on Gideon. Was there really only one person? Who was this young man? What had he come here for? Truman didn't think he was from the Avila family."Dad, something is off." Larry looked at the shattered square and the collapsed stone pegasus statues. Somehow, he felt uneasy. However, Truman didn't care at all. Even if the man was incredibly powerful, what could he do? The Linc family had summoned 30,000 men! Yes, 30,000 men! It was all of the Linc family's forces. The Lincs reigned over Emberstone's underworld because they were the most powerful family. The second and third factions combined did not even come close to having 30,000 members, while the troops in the war zone of Emberstone only reached a total of 30,000.The Linc family held control over all of Emberstone, with Truman as their leader."Kid, who are you?""Gideon Snow!" replied Gideon."Gideon Snow? Never heard of

The laughter continued."It's hilarious.""Is this guy an idiot or something?"The Lincs bent over, laughing. Their laughter was loud and mocking, and their faces were full of scorn.Right at that moment, Adrian strutted out and gave a smug smile. "You must be Gideon," he taunted. "One of Rachel's admirers, I presume? Well, just to inform you. She's already taken… by me!"Gideon's expression changed.Adrian's reckless behavior grew worse as he laughed loudly. "I've played with her numerous times," he boasted. "She started off so arrogant, but now she's like a loyal dog, begging at my feet! Does that make you angry?" He laughed. "She may be your goddess, but to me, she's just a toy!"At this particular moment, Gideon appeared to be quite composed. However, anyone who knew him well would recognize that this was actually a sign of extreme anger for him.A loud boom echoed through the air, followed by a sudden burst of intense murderous energy. It filled the entire area, causin

The thunderous sound of marching feet echoed through the air as 30,000 men advanced forward to attack. The front square of Linc Manor was massive, with enough space for at least 50,000 to 60,000 people. At that precise moment, there was ample room for the 30,000 men to spread out and prepare for battle. It was a startling sight, indeed!Every individual held onto a sharp object—either a knife, spear, or club. They all had menacing looks on their faces. With such a large group of people, even the saliva from each person could engulf an average person. But they were just ordinary people. Gideon, however, was not.Throughout the entire encounter, his expression hardly wavered. In fact, a hint of disdain and disgust could be seen in his eyes. 30,000 men? They were insignificant to him.At Arcane previously, he had single-handedly fought off ten fully armed legions. These legions were equipped with advanced technological weapons, such as tanks and cannons. The battle had been watch

Lavinia threw a punch, but it failed to disperse the streak of light. Instead, the impact sent her plummeting back onto the city gate, her entire body wracked with pain.Just like that, the aircraft hatch closed. The one who made the move wasn't Gideon, nor was it Umbra or the others. It was Orabella."Sorry. She was too noisy. It's annoying." Orabella chuckled.Gideon remained resting with his eyes shut, as if none of it had anything to do with him.Lavinia, however, gritted her teeth. In that brief moment, she had caught a glimpse of the attacker's figure. It wasn't a man—it was a woman!Judging by her appearance, she wasn't very old. Yet, her strength was terrifyingly powerful. That left Lavinia deeply unwilling to accept defeat."Ms. Mosley! We have a response. The Cabinet has approved their passage. No one is to obstruct them."The quick reply surprised Lavinia. That, in itself, was proof that whoever was on that aircraft carried significant weight.Odin reassured her, "

"Ms. Mosley, are you sure about this?" Odin asked cautiously. "Using the Falcon missiles requires authorization from the Cabinet and the Ministry of Defense. If we use it without approval, I'm afraid…""There's no time!" Lavinia was resolute. Her gaze was sharp, and her voice was as firm as iron. "A foreign aircraft is forcing its way through our borders. If we don't intercept it, where will we put our dignity?"Today, it's one aircraft breaking through. Tomorrow, it'll be ten. The day after, a hundred! Are we going to let ourselves become an international joke?"We must intercept this aircraft no matter what. We'll first give out a warning. If it refuses to back down, then we'll use the Falcon missiles. Don't hesitate. If anything goes wrong, I'll take full responsibility!"With her words set in stone, no one dared to object. The outer-base forces were alerted immediately. All three Falcon missiles were primed and ready, waiting for the aircraft's arrival.Ten minutes later, rig

At that moment, an emergency meeting was being held. After receiving the secret message from Gideon, all the Cabinet Elders wore grim expressions. There was a mix of both shock and anger. The shock came from the sheer audacity of The Light Council, who actually planned to attack the border of the northern wilderness. The anger came from their blatant provocation of Dasovia!"Bastards!" Casse, who had a fiery temper, couldn't hold back. He slammed the table and cursed loudly, "That scum from The Light Council is asking for death! I propose we strike first and declare war on them!"Immediately, some of the Cabinet Elders voiced their agreement. However, Rocco said, "The Light Council isn't some small faction. It's the world's most mysterious and powerful force. You could even say it's an entire nation of its own."Lark nodded in agreement. "He's right. The Light Council's strength rivals that of any nation. They have countless powerful individuals, millions of troops, and high-tech

Azel clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles popped, his eyes flashing with murderous intent.Gideon and Orabella walked farther and farther away.In the end, Azel didn't act recklessly. He had no choice but to lead his army in retreat.Seeing this, the dukes of Tylland also had no choice but to temporarily withdraw and reconsider their strategy.…Back at the mayor's mansion, Gideon tended to Martin's injuries. An hour later, Martin's condition finally stabilized, showing clear signs of improvement."Mr. Snow, thank you for saving my life. I have nothing to offer in return, but I swear my loyalty to you! I only hope you won't turn me away."Martin was a smart man. Gideon's sheer strength had left him in shock. He was so young and yet already at this level. His future was limitless. Moreover, Siward had been dropping hints along the way, revealing bits of information. Martin had grown increasingly intrigued by this mysterious, monstrous force of nature known as Gideon.

From Azel's current energy alone, it was clear that he was far stronger than before. He was qualified to be Gideon's opponent."Come on." Gideon's eyes flashed like lightning. His body tensed, his energy surging higher and higher. His energy was unlike Azel's. Azel's energy was cold and sinister, but Gideon's energy was blazing hot, causing the temperature to skyrocket. It was fire and ice.Their opposing energies clashed, generating literal sparks in the air, like something out of a movie. The spectacle was breathtaking."Stop!"At the last possible moment, Orabella descended. The scepter in her hand flared with radiant light as she swung it, slicing through the two clashing forces and separating them."Huh?" Azel, drowning in bloodlust, snapped back to reality. "Ms. Corthopp, what are you doing here?""Mr. Malemayn, first of all, congratulations on mastering the Slaughtering Arts! Secondly, pull back immediately. You know the side effects of that technique. Gideon spoke with such calm indifference that it made Azel seethe with rage. It was blatant, undisguised contempt."Who the hell are you?" Azel asked."Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is, how do we settle this?"As Gideon stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his face was as still as a deep lake. He spoke evenly, word by word, "How about this? Since you left Martin gravely injured, I'll do the same to you. Then, we'll call it even."Hearing this, Azel was so enraged that he laughed. "You're too arrogant! I didn't expect that besides Martin, his superior would show up, too."That's even better. I'll take you both down together and save myself the trouble.""Then, there's nothing more left to say."As soon as Gideon finished speaking, he began walking toward Azel like an ordinary man taking a casual stroll. It was another act of disdain."You're courting death!" Azel grabbed his spear and charged, leaping into the air before slamming down with full force. The air i

Continuous booms echoed in the sky. The savage clash sent chills down the spines of the soldiers, their eyes filled with deep reverence.Atop the city gates, Gideon and the others observed the battle. "Azel's got some real skill. And he's young, too. He must be a key prospect for The Light Council.""That's right." Orabella nodded. "He's a personal student of a veteran elder. He used to be an Episcopus, but he resigned and earned his place as a Legion Commander.""Now that you mentioned it, I'm really curious. Pope of Light holds you in such high regard, and you hold dual titles as the Episcoprie and the Legion Commander of the Regnandi Legion. You wouldn't happen to be the Pope's illegitimate daughter, would you?"Orabella shot him a cold, sidelong glance.Gideon chuckled. "I'm just joking. Don't take it to heart."His gaze returned to the battlefield. The two combatants were now going all out.Azel's spear techniques were exceptionally refined. Every thrust packed terrifying p

Azel Malemayn was the most bloodthirsty among The Light Council's top ten Legion Commanders. He was also young. Second only to Orabella, he was the second-youngest prodigy among the ten commanders. He carried a silver spear on his back. His eerie eyes glowed with an icy light as he spoke in a deep voice, "Send the message."If Martin surrenders and opens the city gates, we'll spare his life and give him a chance to serve The Light Council. If he refuses, we'll crush Saxum to the ground and slaughter every last soul!"After Martin revealed his mastery of the Eye Technique, The Light Council's interest in him skyrocketed, or rather, in his Eye Technique. If they could bring him under their command, all the better.A powerful presence surged forward as a duke approached the gates of Saxum, his voice booming, "Martin! I am Duke Royce Breckenridge. Come out and face me at once!""Your Grace, I've long heard of you. I never thought you'd come in person. I'm truly flattered." Atop the ci

"Has any other nation surpassed The Light Council in genetic research?" Gideon asked."Impossible!" Orabella's response was swift and confident. "Our research is the most advanced in the world. No other country has delved as deeply into this field as we have. That much is certain."We have the greatest minds, including a once-in-a-lifetime genius with an unmatched IQ.""Is that so?" Gideon's curiosity was piqued.A thought suddenly crossed his mind. "Right. What about the Spirale Clan? They specialize in advanced technology. Couldn't they have taken genetic research even further?""You think too far ahead. Just like their name suggests, the Spirale Clan excels at developing high-tech weaponry. But when it comes to biotechnology and genetics, that's not their strong suit.""I see." Then, he changed the subject. "Ms. Corthopp, any chance you'd take me on a tour of the genetic engineering facility?""In your dreams!" She scoffed.Gideon shrugged, not pressing the matter further.
