Chapter 42

After the exchange of sharp words between Aaron and Rio the traitor left as well. Unbelievably, maybe I should admit that there are things we really don't expect to happen. Just like my cousin, I thought he was loyal to us, to his family but he just seemed to be honest with himself. I no longer knew what to say to her mom. Her husband is dead and her son helped the king to kill him.

The next day I woke up to a loud explosion above. "What's that, Rio?" I asked nervously. Maybe they did something bad to my father.

"Something's happening."

"What is that?"

Later something exploded again. I also heard as if someone was shouting. "Could it be that it's them?"

Rio could not answer my question. He may also be unaware of whatever is going on.

I turned to the source of the voice and I covered my mouth when I realized this mystical dragon!

"You came!" I happily shout at him. He snorted. "I don't have a choice." I turned to Rio and watched their reaction but they were just weird looking at me. "Why can't they hear you?" I wondered.

"Because they're not my descendants. Go finish your tasks, I'll take care of it." I smiled at him. "Thank you!"

Rio pulled me over. "Iris, you're weird, are you talking to the dragon?" Angel asked, shaking his head. I shook my head and just smiled at them.

"Do you think Rio where are they now?" he turned to me.

"On his throne." He answered simply.

We went there immediately and the king did not seem surprised that we entered. He just sat in front while Jade and Aaron were on either side of him. I was distracted when my cousin and I met eyes. I know it's hard, Aaron and I grew up together and it's like ... I can't hurt him.

As we shielded each other with the sword I couldn’t help but talk to him. "Tito is dead and I'm not saying that it's your fault but aren't you really doing anything?" he stopped for a moment but recovered immediately so I flew into the air.

"They killed your father." I laughed sarcastically. "But you don't seem to care at all."

He suddenly rushed at me and answered me on the stomach. It hurts, yes but I can handle it so I can just bring him back to us.
