Mrs. Sharpe quickly turned away from the stove and she went to answer the door. All Valentina was able to hear from the doorway was muffled talking and then she heard the sound of her mom walking towards the living room.
She was too scared to move and thought she clearly needed to be slapped, because why would a confident adult female like her be scared of a man even though he was the prince and future king of all werewolves?
Her mom slowly walked back into the kitchen. "The Prince is here and he is waiting for you in the living room," she said with a huge sweet smile on her face.
Yeah, this is going to be a long night, Valentina thought, nodding and she started to walk toward the living room.
Alexander was standing with red roses in his hands. He was wearing a midnight black suit and his hair was gelled back professionally. Valentina almost fell because of the sight of him, and she thought that she clearly needed to be ran over by a truck because of how she was acting in front of the prince.
Maybe the reason she always acted this way was because the air when she was around the prince was always intoxicating. She walked toward him and stopped to bow.
"If you bow one more time around me, l would feel offended that you see me as a member of the royal family and not your mate," he said in his deep voice.
"I am sorry about that. I am just not used to this," Valentina said and put her head down.
The prince walked closer to her and kissed her forehead, and she immediately thought she really would not be able to make it through the night without dying.
He took a long look at her, and he smiled Like a stupid, lovey-dovey smile. So Valentina returned a smile back because she really didn't want to be rude since he had already asked her on this date.
"Valentina, you are so beautiful," he said, his voice coming out in a whisper. His beautiful honey colored eyes sparkled as he looked at her.
Valentina tried to hide the blush that was coming to her face before she spoke. "Thank you, Alexander," she replied.
Then he started to laugh. This was the first time he had laughed around Valentina and she loved it so much because he sounded so wholesome.
It even made her to smile. "What is funny?" she asked and he stopped laughing so that he could answer her question.
"I understand what made to you laugh when I saw you earlier," he said making Valentina's smile to become bigger.
"I wanted to make sure you still got to see the blue you requested," she replied.
He smiled even more before he spoke. "Do you not like the color blue? It looks beautiful on you," he stated proudly.
"No, I think the color blue is a nice color. It is just that black is my favorite color," she said and he nodded his head.
He pulled back, handing her the bouquet of beautiful roses as her mom came into the living room. That was when Valentina finally got a look at what she was wearing.
She had been in her head too much that she didn't notice her mom's effort to impress a member of the royal family. She was wearing a modest brown but beautiful dress. Her blond hair was in pretty curls that hung down her back and she looked really beautiful.
She bowed in front of Prince Alexander and the prince shook his head. "Please, Mrs. Sharpe, don't bow for me. You are my future mother in law, and there is no need for that" Alexander said.
Valentina's mom nodded and turned to her. "I hope you two have a great time tonight. Here, l will take these and make sure she doesn't kill them," her mom said, joking while taking the flowers from Valentina's hands and laughing softly.
Neither Alexander nor Valentina laighed at Mrs. Sharpe's joke, so she cleared her throat because of the awkwardness in the air.
"Thank you, Mrs. Sharpe for inviting me into your home. Have a great night," Alexander said and he reached for Valentina's hand. She put her hand in his and she hated to admit it but she loved it more than she would have liked to admit.
They started to walk hand in hand towards the door, and Valentina thought that to survive the rest of the dinner, she had to be more confident.
I am a damn warrior, I am a female warrior. I can manage to keep my composure throughout tonight, she thought.
She was so into her head with thinking that she didn't realize that they were already in the car.
"You think a lot." His voice interrupted the silence.
Valentina was immediately taken aback by his statement. "Because I am a woman?" she said in an offended tone.
Then she looked ahead, trying not to maintain eye contact because she could tell that he caught her tone. The car was starting to slow down and they were nowhere near wherever they were going. In fact, they were in the middle of the woods.
The car came to a complete stop, and she looked over to Alexander. He was still staring ahead, his eyes on the road in front of him. He finally looked towards her and brought his face closer to hers.
It was so quiet that you could hear her rigid breathing in the car. Valentina could also smell him and she wanted so badly to pass out in his scent, as long as it enveloped her.
She examined his face and it remained emotionless. It was either emotionless or it was that way because she could not tell what he was feeling or thinking.
Valentina was sure that she had the same expression on her face too.
"Never have l ever disrespected a woman because of the mere fact that she is woman," he said while searching her face for a reaction.
But Valentina's face wasn't readable, and she knew that because she was taught as a warrior to always hide her emotions from her enemies because it could act as a disadvantage to her.
She knew Alexander wasn't her enemy but she had gotten so used to not showing emotion to people she didn't know. And whether Shay liked it or not, they didn't know Alexander yet.
Valentina nodded her head because she knew that she had probably offended him with her comment. "Sorry for offending you, Alexander. In my pack there are a lot of misogynistic men," she said.
"And what is your take on these misogynistic men in your pack?" he asked in a curious tone.
"Well, I don't hate them, but I feel bad for them because they can't acknowledge that they are idiots," she said confidently while smiling.
Alexander laughed again for the second time that night. Valentina examined his face more and she noticed that he had a dimple when he smiled.
He was so handsome that it was no wonder the she-wolves fell to their feet whenever they set their eyes on him. According to Kendra, he was loved all around the entire werewolf kingdom.
"Valentina," he called, his voice interrupting her thinking.
"Yes," she responded with confidence.
He was looking ahead towards the road again, and he looked indifferent when he did that. "What is your definition of dominance?" he asked.
"It is the complete control over something or someone. I might be wrong but that is my own definition," Valentina said, still looking at him while he was still facing away from her.
"Why did you ask?" she asked, curious to know why he had asked her that particular question out of many others that he might have chosen.
"I crave to dominate my kingdom. I also crave to dominate my mate," he said while turning his head to the side to look at Valentina.
Valentina's mind went blank and she could feel Shay wanting to come out, which was only natural since Alexander wanted to dominate her, and that was natural also. He was the future Alpha King, and Valentina didn't even know how that made her feel. She closed her eyes and took in a deep and long breath of air. It was full of his scent. In fact, the whole car was full of his intoxicating scent.Shay finally calmed down in Valentina's head, and she was grateful because the pacing wasn't helping her at all.She opened her eyes to take a look at Alexander, and she saw that he had been watching her this whole time. "Does your definition of dominance change?" he asked in his deep and husky voice. No, Valentina thought but she didn't say anything. So Valentina had to think whether the lack of change of her definition meant he had some sort of affect on her.It would have been crazy if he didn't have a sort of affect on her, being that she was his soulmate. But she still hadn't fully accepte
"Valentina, how much do you know about my family?" Alexander asked. She tried to think about how much knowledge she had on them. She knew that they lived far from her pack, like a place you had to get to using an airplane. They lived in a different country to her. They lived in a tropical forest in Australia. That was where the Royal palace was located, and it was hidden from the regular people. Valentina knew that the members of the Royal Family were Queen Matilda and King Henry, and Alexander who was their only child. I think that is all I know about them, she concluded to herself."I don't know a lot about the Royal Family," she said while shaking her head as she tried to remember any kind of information she could. "So that explains your behavior when me and my family arrived," Alexander noted and she gasped and then ducked her face in mock mortification. "Explain how my behavior was to me," she said to him while raising her head up slightly to glance at him. He chuckled quie
Valentina woke up very early in the morning when the new day was just getting bright bit by bit, and the first sight she was greeted with was her mom opening her room curtains. She groaned and rolled over, and that was when she noticed that she was still wearing her make up from last night. "Valentina, why would you sleep with your make up on? Are you not aware that it could taint your beautiful face?" Mrs. Sharpe asked. Her mom laid in the bed next to her. She got in the covers and Valentina laid her head on her mom as if she was her pillow. "Mom," Valentina called out and her mom hummed in response. "I don't think I will ever be ready to be a Queen." Her mom lifted her hand up and began to trace it along Valentina's back. "Valentina, you have always been a Queen. It was just never confirmed until now. So now you have to actually be the Queen you have always been. And I am very sure you will be a great one." Valentina sank into her mom's body deeper and deeper, but she didn't l
After Valentina saw her hair she was really obsessed. She looked so different and she had even totally forgotten about her Royal entanglement at that moment. "I guess I am a hair superhero," Molly announced while flipping her hair in a sassy way. Valentina got up and immediately hugged her. Molly hugged her back, holding her for a while before she let go of her. “Make sure you take care of that hair," she said. Valentina smiled at her knowing this would be the last time in a while that she would see her. "I really love my hair. I needed this. Thank you Molly," Valentina said. She looked at Valentina weirdly “Girl, if you don't get up out of my shop with your emotional ass,” Molly said while starting to clean up her station. Valentina threw her head back and laughed. She really loved that woman. She began to exit the shop, waving to Molly before she finally went out.She decided not to change her outfit when she finally got home because the weather was starting to get hot. Then
Alexander stepped back and gave her a smug smirk, but Valentina still couldn't think properly. “I am staying with you for the rest of the day," he said, smirking because he could see the effect he had on her. She tried to control herself. "No, you can't just…" she started but she was interrupted by Alexander as he came back close to her. She could still smell his minty breath again, so she sucked in a breath and closed her eyes. Every time she was around this man, she just couldn't breathe properly. Then she slowly opened her eyes again. His jaw clenched and Valentina swore she could faint right in that moment. “Valentina, I don't like repeating myself. I would like to spend quality time with you," Alexander said again. Valentina just wished he would shut up. His voice always gave her pleasure. It annoyed her a bit, and her annoyance didn't please him at all. "Fine, but let me freshen up and talk to my brother," she said with some sort of certainty in her voice. Alexander nodde
Her trainees had started to arrive but Valentina was still waiting for Jason. He was supposed to be here by now since it had been about fifteen minutes since the class started. He was still nowhere to be found, and Alexander was sitting on a chair at the back of her class. Alexander was wearing his usual midnight black suit and he was in no attire to fight, so he decided to watch her "boss" around the teens. After five more minutes, Jason came rushing in with his blue water bottle and green workout bag. He looked tired from running but Valentina didn't understand why. He always ran everyday so how could he be tired since she made him run all the time? Maybe I am not hard enough on these kids, she thought to herself. Jason looked at her. "Why are you late?" she asked him while folding her arms. "I am sorry. I had some family problems to take care of," he replied, smiling and shrugging his shoulders. She waved him off and he went to put his bag in the back of the room. He soon ret
Valentina saw Jason and Ezra pair up, and she already knew that it would be interesting. Jason and Ezra were two strong fighters, and she knew that because she trained them. Jason was a skilled fighter but his eye coordination wasn't always reliable, while Ezra was great at eye coordination but he always took too long getting up whenever he was knocked down. They began to fight and Jason went for a punch that Ezra ducked. They circled around each other before Ezra kicked Jason's legs and he fell. Ezra took his time to get on top of Jason and that cost him a bit. Ezra went for a punch but Jason moved his head out of the way. Then Jason punched Ezra twice and he was now off the ground and Ezra was hunching over while grabbing his face. Jason kicked him twice and Ezra didn't get up because he gave up. Valentina shook her head because she knew that the fight was already over. "Get up, boy and go put a warm rag on your face," she said to Ezra. Two of the other teens helped him towards
“Mom! Mom where are you?" Valentina yelled as she stepped into the houseHonestly the amount of times Valentina called her mom's name was probably why she never clung to her when she moved out. "I am in the kitchen," her mom called out and she ran back down the stairs, going for the kitchen where she saw her mom putting food away. Valentina assumed that she was putting the dinner away, and that was when she realized that she wasn't really hungry. Her mom was putting on a pair of long pajama pants and a long sleeved shirt that matched the pants. Her brown hair was pulled up into an artful bun that fit her well. "Mom, we should watch a movie as a family. You know, because I am leaving tomorrow and I want a last happy memory," Valentina suggested. Her mom smiled and she could see her eyes start to water a little, making Valentina's facial expression to become saddened. "Mom, it is okay. I will call you guys every chance I get," Valentina said to her and started to walk towards her,
It was an unassuming house, a three-story building, red brick with black shutters on a corner lot of the quiet street. Alex had parked two blocks away. Gareth and Matt took the back while Matilda and Alex approached from the street. Brown leaves were scattered on the lawn. Two maple trees and some miniature shrubs offered little in the way of concealment, so they stayed to one side of the building. "Hang back," Alex told Matilda."Yeah, right," she scoffed. Alex glanced at his mother and saw an annoying smirk. Yes! She would find this interesting, he thought dryly. Especially after what she had done earlier. Maltilda had helped them distract the demon wolves and even after then when Alex was on the verge of death. When he was torn between two critical decisions, Maltida had also been the one that rescued all the pack warriors. She had brought out their ice cannon and shot it at all the demon wolves, freezing them to death immediately. How she had done it so expertly and swift, he
Val woke up to a dark room. The sniffed around and the room smelt stange. Unfamiliar. Her head was banging and her throat was dry and scorching. Her whole body aches from having slept in the hard rugged ground. For some minutes, she could not remember what had happened and what she was doing in such a strange place. "Anyone there?" She called out as loud as she could as she blinked rapidly against the dark room. She tried to rack her brain to remember how she got. Wait a minute... she had gotten to the entrance of the witches kingdom, then she had heard a sound behind her, then she had turned to see some group of scary looking men, and then they had.. "Ohhh," she mouthed as her face contorted with horror. Yes! she had felt a very sharp and intense pain when they had hit her with something on her head. She did not even know what the thing was. It had happened too fast and she wasn't expecting it. Then she remembered something else, and this time, her breath caught hard in her throat.
By the time Val was done bathing, it was already noon. She was now feeling much better and stronger. She felt her muscles loosen and untie themselves in anticipation of a great journey. Pulling a blouse over her head, a smile spread across her face as she chortled quietly. Earlier today, it had been so funny when she had asked her mother about Sophie and her expression had changed. She had thought of the worst things that could have happened to her baby. But as it turned out, nothing had happened. Her mother had just decided to tease her a little, which had gone all wrong. She had been so vexed with her mom that she had demanded to be left alone for some times. But thank goodness, Sophie's condition had improved. Well technically, not really. The boils and rashes were still covering her skin, only that she had stopped her shrieking noise. The only thing she does when she feels the pain is to cry quietly. It was as if she had gotten used to it. Sophie was such a strong baby. As li
Roshan stood in front of his warriors, moving stealthily around and listening carefully for the slightest movement. Where could the Red Moon Pack bastards have gone? he wondered. He scanned the entire environment, he looked up at the sky, still he found not even a trace of them. He began stamping his feet on the ground to check if they had dug the earth up to cover themselves, but the ground was still as sturdy as ever. Then out of the corner of his eyes, he saw a foot track. He snorted contemptuously. Bastards been thinking they're smart, huh? He thought. He started tracing the track, moving carefully forward. Then he came to the end of the track. He gritted his teeth in anger. "Bastards!" he growled angrily. He started going from where he had first seen the track. All of a sudden, he stopped as if a thought had occured to him. He put a finger in his lips, signalling his pack members to be as quiet as they could be. Slowly, he raised his head up to stare up at the trees. "Stand
The demon wolves looked around to know where the sound was coming from. Even Alex was surprised. They could still hear the snapping of bones but they didn't know where it was coming from. Then there was a howl of pain followed by the ripping sound of clothes. Everyone turned in the direction of the sound. It was Kendra. She had shifted to her wolf form. Even the demon wolf that had been dragging her by her hair was surprised, he hadn't even noticed her slipping from his grasp and transforming. Without warning, Alex gave Kendra's daughter to one of the lower rank warriors. "Give the pup to her mother!" He instructed. "Alexander, you're making a hell of mistake!" the Alpha demon wolf said, revealing his slightly crooked fangs. He was glaring at Alex aggressively, and an intense murderous intention was evidently written on his face. "Bring it on, monster!" The Alpha demon wolf growled at him. He seemed not to like being called a monster. Good. Alex noted. "If you think anyone will b
Alex's wolf, Gary shook his body and his white furs bounced proudly on his back. "Mom, you're staying right here," he repeated. And was out of the office in the next moment as the office door banged shut. Once outside, Gary let out a howl drawing the attention of a demon wolf that had his back to him. The demon wolf turned and the only thing Alex could think about for a while was, what the fuck? What kind of a creature was this? he thought. In fact they shouldn't be called demon wolves at all, rather they should be called demon monster because what in goodness name was this? The demon wolf was twice in size as a normal werewolf, and he had a very ugly face. To Alex, the demon wolf that had just turned to look at him looked like shit. The face was that of a human, then he had very long fangs, longer than a regular werewolf's fangs and his claws were showing in his feet and hands. He also had two horns etched deep into two sides of his skull. He had the features of a human and wolf. I
"Alpha Alex, this is not about shutting up. This is more serious than you could ever think. Those people, they are demons, they spit out fire. They're..." "Just be quiet!" he ordered angrily. "Alex, I want to be quiet but..." "Will you wait a damn minute and let me process what you're trying to say. Let me fucking think!" Alex was gradually losing his cool. At any time, he could pounce on Gareth and beat up till he got his blood flowing in this office. His wolf was unleashing a blood sucking aura, and he was breathing so hard to calm himself down and think properly. Matilda could feel the murderous aura emanating from her son. She knew exactly what it meant, and she couldn't let that happen. The beast in him wanted blood, and he would get it whether by force or any other way. "Alex, let's just calm down and listen to what Gareth has to say," she told him pleadingly. Alex shot a hard glance, then his softened gradually and his breathing slowly came to normal. "Alright, Gareth. G
Val woke up alone on top of her bed, still dressed in her pyjamas, a comforter keeping her warm. It was nearly ten o'clock in the morning, and she had no idea where Alex was or where he had gone to. The real question here was did he even sleep on the bed with her? He'd obviously carried her to the bed. She just knew it, but the realization was both heartwarming and unnerving. She wondered if he'd slept at all. She was guessing not. He was probably still angry with her for what she had done yesterday. He was probably still thinking about how stubborn and strong headed she had been. Trying to go on a journey with Sophie alone, and without protection. And the part that would pain him the most was that she hadn't even listened to him at all. Would he hold it against her? Would he start giving her the silent treatment? She swung her legs off the bed and headed for the shower. She needed to redeem herself, She needed to know if he was still angry with her. She needed to know if he had
It was a cold and beautiful morning. Only that it wasn't that beautiful to Alex. He had just woken. Well, scratch that. He didn't even sleep at all. If only a wink for a few minutes could be called a sleep, then let's just say he had just woken up from that sleep. He was feeling restless. Every bone in his body seemed to be complaining. And he knew the reason for that. Something in his guts was telling him he had made a very terrible mistake by letting his wife and daughter go without anyone to protect them. He knew that Val was a little bit overconfident about her fighting skills and abilities as a warrior. But that might not be just enough to protect her and from the sorcery of those evil witches. He walked to the window, lifted the window blinds. A gentle breeze rustled in through and whipped past his face, laying its gentle cold hands on his face. He inhaled in the fresh air that strangely smelled of orange blossoms. He stood resting his hands on the frame, and stared across th
