A calm melody drifted through her subconsciousness. The gentle breeze caressed her cool cheeks and whistled sweetly past her ears. It was enough to stir her awake from the depths of her slumber. A bright light blinded her when she opened her eyes. She expected to be in the same field alongside Ariel. Then came the soft, rhythmic beeping. She recognized it almost immediately. Her visits to the hospital engraved in her mind through the years. Her vision cleared little by little. First around the edges before moving inward. The familiar ceiling. Damion lay upon the infirmary bed before her, sickly pale and sweating from a persistent fever. Her eyes continued to drift to the blood-stained bandages around his shoulder. Jayce adjusted the collar of his button up, loosening it from his throat. The awkward tension in the room was suffocating. After their arrival to Aiden's community, Aiden and Winston led the group to their community center where a meeting room was set up for them. Except, it didn't feel or appear like the normal meeting rooms Jayce was accustomed to. There were two map layouts on one wall. One larger map of the United States with red pins scattered across, ranging from the lower end of California to the outskirts of New York. Amidst those red pins were fewer black pins. If he had to guess, the black pins signified Dark Witches while the red were the Undead they were rising. A smaller map rested beside it of a blueprint of the community he was currently in, along with what appeared to be a nearby town. The tension in the air was sickeningly thick as he, Aiden and Jayce walked the dirt roads of Aiden's community. A Rogue town with no name. Far off the winding path of society. Dante had walked many roads like this one. In every direction, an endless passage. Such was his immortal fate. Immortality. For the longest time, the word was only just a word to him and held no significance. He watched many civilizations rise and fall. Buildings crumbled on either side of him. The sun and moon constantly shifted in the skies, but time remained effortlessly still yet forever moving forward with him. He had all the time at his disposal only for it to be forever wasted on his greedy tendencies and frivolous style of living. But time finally seemed to slow down when he met Willow. These woods were not like the ones behind her home. The trees were thin with barely a leaf holding on. Even with it being late into the autumn season, the trees were barren.
