After waiting for three whole hours and the Alphas who were supposed to come for the division of the pack that recently lost their Alpha didn't show up, he decided to wait for another thirty minutes before leaving, he was about to ask someone to inform Shirley that they would be leaving in the next thirty minutes when a voice sounded urgently in his head.
"Alpha Zane, we just caught a wolf pack sniffing about the boundary." His gamma mind linked him.
Zane left the room immediately going out so that he can give out instructions.
"I don't have to tell you how to do your job, you know what you're supposed to do." Alpha Zane responded by mind-linking his gamma.
Zane put him out of his thoughts for a few minutes and carefully massaged his temple, but it didn't seem to help, he desperately wished he was in his pack right now but it wasn't possible.
This morning, he had awakened with a bad headache, which was exacerbated by his wolf's unrelenting prancing around him. Zane has been tempted to find a means to completely shut it out, but he can't, since they are one, with his wolf being the annoying one, and he can't murder himself by shutting out his own wolf. The headache of this morning came back with full force.
He was so frustrated that the incident had to happen when he was so many meters away from his pack. Seems like the intruders knew he wouldn't be around so they used the opportunity to invade.Shame on them because they would be in for a surprise.
Seems like Amelia sensed something was wrong because she after Zane a few minutes later and she found him standing alone his eyes focused which indicated that he was mind-linking, someone.
"Zane, is there any problem?"Amelia asked quietly.
"Amelia please not now, he shouted at her"
"You need to tell me if something is wrong so I can know if there's any way I can help you" she replied.
What exactly do you want, Amelia?" He inquired once more, this time with a firm tone. He shut the mind-link down again so that he can tell Amelia off. His mind was already racing, and he needed to be alone right now.
“Your chilly demeanor isn't going to throw me off!" Her attention was fixed on his.
"Fine!! I was mind-linking Cole when you so rudely interrupted me. He informed us that he caught some strangers sniffing around our pack. So can you please excuse me so that I can look for a way to manage the situation?" He said in anger.
Amelia didn't reply at the moment because she was shocked so he reopened the mind-link with Cole again.
He ordered him to take the rogue to the dungeon and follow his instructions very carefully.
"How many are they?" Alpha Zane inquired; his tone chilly.
"Seven Alpha, four male, and three female," Cole explained.
"Is the room prepared now?" Alpha Zane asked after a few minutes of impatience, he really wished he was there right now and he replied with a yes.
When you get them to the dungeon, be sure to go with some guards, you will see all sorts of torture devices on the table, the nicest of which was the wolfsbane in a large jar.
You are to select a chain, turn it on, touch the tip to ensure that it is working perfectly, do that now Zane commanded. From the way the link cracked, Zane confirmed that the electricity was intact. He also ordered Cole to dip the chain in the jar of wolfsbane and smiled evilly when he was confident that Cole had done it and it would work properly, knowing that wolfsbane has a burning impact on werewolves. Aside from burning them, it also weakens them, making them ideal for what he planned.
Zane told him to start the torture and he immediately grabbed the wolfsbane-dipped electric chains and clamped them around the man's neck. When he turned on the lights all at once, their yells echoed around the room.
He shut it off after allowing them to scream for about five minutes since he didn't want them to die before getting the information he needed and before the Alpha returns. He grabbed a chair and dragged it forward before taking a seat in it.
"How did you get here? And who sent you? " And don't make me repeat myself twice," Cole cautioned.
"No one Sir," one of the females replied because the guys couldn't converse.
“Okay,” Cole said, smiling, "let's play your game, but I advise we finish before the Alpha gets here if not you would all regret it." He said as instantly activated the electric shackles, and the men shouted in agony.
The she-wolves began crying as soon as the male yells filled the room, and HE questioned again, "Who sent you here?"
“Please, believe me, we were just passing through and didn't realize we'd crossed your lines until it was too late, no one sent us..." A young woman with fiery red hair begged.
“Do you think I will buy your story? you're actually expecting me to believe that? Try again," he said sarcastically.
"It's the truth, Sir." The brunette raised her voice.
"How did you get caught sneaking through our pack trying to disguise your tracks? You think I wouldn't detect it? Or you think because our Alpha is away, the pack is unprotected?".
"We were hoping to leave without being noticed because we'd heard how you treat trespassers," the redhead explained.
What do you think I'm here for? You don't think I'm a complete idiot, do you? Cole snarled angrily.
They were deafeningly quiet and didn't say anything. Then he turned to the third female, who hadn't said anything since they'd stepped in, and told her that this would be the last time he would ask her that question. “What brought you here, and why are you here?” But she didn't say anything in reply and just cried.
"Alpha they are refusing to say anything"He mind-linked Zane
"Torture them until they reveal what they're doing here."
"Yes, sir" Cole replied through the mind-link moving forward and grabbing what seemed to be a vibrator.

Alpha Zane breathed out in frustration if not being present, then he turned around and saw his siblings approaching.
"What the fuck are they doing here?" he wondered.
"Why are you out here smiling evilly? What did instructions did you give to Cole?"Amelia asked.
He walked past them, heading back to the sitting room totally ignoring her as she marched after him, calling his name over and over. He tried to block out her voice, but she was shouting so loudly that it was difficult. He was almost at the door when she caught up with him and grabbed the sleeve of his shirt.
He turned to face his irate sister, who was looking at him with a cruel scowl. If looks could kill, Alpha Zane would be six feet beneath the ground, but he didn't care. After all, he was already frustrated because he couldn't get any information from the trespassers.
"What is it?" He asked impatiently.
"Are there any girls that were captured?" she queried, her gaze no worse than his. He silently thought, if she keeps glaring like this, her eyes would be ruined.
"What if there are?" Alpha Zane asked as he folded his hands on his chest because he was fully prepared for her lengthy lectures, but he definitely wasn't prepared for what she said next.
"Do you think you don't have anything in common with our parents?" You're frighteningly similar to them, if not worse!" She erupted in a fit of hatred and fury. He was speechless for a few minutes, but then wrath seized him, and HE grabbed her throat and slammed her against the wall. She was about to say something when she noticed his expression and chose not to. HE was so furious that HE almost ripped her heart out. HE had to take a deep breath to calm himself down, but it didn't seem to help.
HE was enraged, and if she had been anyone else, she would have been dead by now.
“Please don't ever compare me to them ever again! never! Do you understand?" HE grew upset and yelled at her.
She tried to speak, but she couldn't because HE was choking her. HE tried to take his hand off her neck, but his wrath made it difficult, so HE counted from one to ten and gradually slipped his hands away.
"I am not like them, and I will not become like them!" HE screamed. In a fit of rage, HE flung her away from his sight then turned back to the direction he just left.
HE morphed into his wolf form and leaped into the woods. HE started running to try to relax, but it didn't work. The only thing that makes him feel better these days is if HE breaks or damages something. That is why he prefers being alone in the forest and return home whenever HE feels better and more relaxed.
As HE approached the forest HE ran into when he found out about his mate, HE slowed into a stride, his chest heaving from the pace with which HE sprinted. When HE came to a halt and sat down on the ground, trying to calm himself down, all of Amilia's words came flooding back to him.
“I will never be anything like my parents, I am not like them!” HE kept reassuring himself. HE says it every morning as if it were a mantra because HE felt that denying it flatly will make it true.
"You are!" his wolf sneered.
When he looked down, he discovered he was naked because he destroyed his clothes when he transformed and transitioned back to his human form when he had stopped running, he was currently entirely naked.
"I'm not!" HE yelled to his wolf in response.
"Keep telling yourself that, but we both know you're just like them; after all, you've had their blood coursing through your veins," his wolf said to him again.
Alpha Zane exclaims, "Shut up!" HE was outraged.
“You won't be able to silence me, you know?” his wolf chuckled, “because I'm you and you're me, and we're one.”
Alpha Zane was outraged once more, so he went to a giant tree and punched it, sending it flying meters away, but he wasn't pleased. HE shifted back into his wolf after destroying about seven trees because HE couldn't possibly go home naked, and then HE mind-linked Robert asking him to bring him the extra clothes in the car.
As soon as HE got in, he saw everyone pacing around thinking about different things. No one noticed him at first, but they did when HE shut the door. "Please accept his apologies, Zane..." His sister started walking towards him, but she came to a halt as he glared at her aggressively. He moved past her, refusing to speak to her since doing so would fuel his fury. She deserved to suffer in self-guilt after what she spat from her mouth, thus his silence was completely warranted.
When he got to the wine bar, he got himself a drink of bourbon. "What an ungrateful bitch!" He cursed angrily under his breath. "After everything, I went through to keep her safe, she still compares me to our parents? She forgot that if I were like my parents, she wouldn't be alive today.
“She was simply stating the obvious." His wolf spoke up.
“How come you're still talking to me when I thought I locked you out?" Alpha Zane replied his annoying wolf.
“You’ll have to work harder than; after all, you know you can't succeed in completely shutting me out because we're one; and, I wasn't talking to you; I was only expressing my thoughts; you can choose not to listen." His wolf scowled. "I only hope you won't be too harsh on our mate," he added.
"Whatever!" Alpha Zane maintained his frown.
"Promise me," his wolf begged Zane.
"OK, on one condition," He said.
"What condition?" his wolf inquired.
"I can only accept her if she comes from an Alpha lineage," HE explained, but as you can see, that is not possible because she comes from a FUCKING BETA LINEAGE, he said to his wolf.
"You're kidding right?"His wolf asked. If wolves could frown, Alpha Zane imagined his wolf frowning.
"No, I'm not" He replied his wolf
He cleared his throat and spoke...
"Someone should fetch Shirley, it's time to go home, we are leaving right now," He said.
It was very silent on their way home; it was as if someone significant had died and no one had recovered from the shock; everyone kept their thoughts to themselves, and no one dared to speak of what had happened earlier.***Flashback***ZANE’S POV"Your sister is my mate," I said coldly, my face expressionless. Saying that out loud made me anxious. As soon as I said the word, the entire pack fell silent. Nobody dared to move, not even a pin, as the music immediately ceased to play. After a little pause, someone mumbled, "Reject her," and when I turned to see who was talking, I found her brother staring at me. He appeared to be daring me to say or do something unusual. And, as my reputation suggests, "I answer to no one," which means that I am the only one who makes the "command," and everyone else is compelled to listen to me."Wait a second, what exact
Ace was taken aback when I told him we were leaving right away, but he didn't want to intercede, as I had warned. Alpha Liam tried to persuade me to give Shirl more time to say goodbye to her friends, but nothing they said changed my mind; I'm clinging to the last strand of patience I didn't realize I had, and I'm not willing to put myself through the test to see what happens if that last strand of patience wears off.I sat in my car, waiting for Amelia and my friend to come so I could leave immediately. Why do people keep drawing parallels between me and my parents? Unfortunately, I strive every day to avoid becoming like them; my mantra, for fuck's sake, is "I am not like my parents and I will never be like them," but based on how people constantly compare me to them, it appears that I'm slowly transforming into them, or perhaps I already am."How do you intend to deal with other people's negative impressions of
Amelia’s eyes opened as soon as he said it. Was he kidding? The room at the far end of the hall is as good as a storage room; there is only one window for ventilation, one can't even see the sky from there, and, most importantly, no one ever goes there because it's so far away. It's closer to incarceration, but at least she'd have company in prison. Shirley could tell the situation wasn't going to be pleasant the moment she looked at Amelia and saw her expression. She tried to smile but only got a frown. A tear spilled from Shirley’s eyes, and before she could brush it away, it continued to fall like raindrops, causing her to cry uncontrollably. "What did I do to earn this?" Why should I have to go through this when I swear I've been truthful and honest?" Shirley didn't specifically ask anyone. She was sobbing as she thought of the difficulties that were ahead of her. He
"Fredrick!" exclaimed Zane."Yes, Alpha," Fred replied."Begin whipping her and the guard stationed outside her door every five hours, and the guard will be lashed three times as much as she is for allowing Amelia to enter the room despite my warnings!" He entered his office and closed the door, leaving them stunned."He didn't just say that, did he?" Amelia asked, turning to look at Robert, who was as astonished as she was."Amelia, he's utterly mad; this isn't the brother I remember, and I have a feeling there's more to this than we realize," That twelfth incidence cannot be the source of all these changes..." Robert scowled for a time, thinking about something, then said... "Yes!" He appeared captivated by whatever he has just remembered."What is it?" Amelia inquired out of curiosity, wondering what had gotten him so excited about this situation.
Zane twisted and turned in his bed, unable to find a comfortable sleeping position, and he was conscious of what was bothering him. Every stroke seemed as if he were being whipped; the pain was so great that he could feel his flesh splitting open, and he can now feel it as he laid in his bed. This is most likely why it stated, "You and your spouse are one, you feel the same kind of suffering that your mate does, yours may be worse, therefore you feel obligated to come to their rescue." He had no idea how serious that statement was until the first lash landed on her. He had a gut feeling about it.When she was whipped five hours ago, it seemed like his back opened up, but it was gone as soon as he stopped flogging her, and it feels even worse now that he is lashing her again with greater intensity since the anguish is even worse than before. It felt like someone was constantly stabbing his heart with a wolfsbane-soaked knife.
Amelia's eyes turned to her brother, and she raised her brows in a curious and eager manner."What are you waiting for? are you notcoming?" She was curious."No, I'm not," he said. "I'm gracious and nice enough to allow you to visit her. Go before I change my mind.""I'm just coming..." she whispered, covering her lips with her hands and smacking her forehead for almost ruining it all with her mouth. If he discovers she was just leaving Shirley's room, he will be even more furious, and she will very certainly never be allowed to enter the room again. "I just hope it's not too late when you realize your mistakes!" she exclaimed as she walked away, glaring at him once again.Amelia believes her brother had feelings for his mate and that they were close since he was in pain the entire time she was at his office; he tried but failed terribly. Something was driving him to hold back... something she
Amelia refused to allow Zane to punish someone else for his own errors; it's long past time for him to accept responsibility for his actions. In reality, James was simply carrying out the Alpha's orders; if he had questioned or ignored the order, he would have been in big trouble, and he had no idea who Shirley was. She was positive that if he had even the slightest inkling, he would have been lenient.***She visited Shirley on a daily basis and stayed until it was dark. She had grown to love the girl more and more with each passing hour, and she begged the moon goddess for another chance to make things work between them. She would apologize for her casual attitude from the start, hoping to be forgiven, and then embrace her as a sister for the rest of her life. The most important thing is that she wakes up from her coma; everything else should fall into place after that."Miss Amelia
"She is finally regained consciousness!!"Fredrick was out of breath as he had run all the way here when he heard the news, nearly falling as he approached the door.Amelia took it out on him when he punished James out of fury and reverse aggression, and she stopped talking to him in the same way that his wolf had stopped talking to him too. "You did it, you killed her!" was the only thing he hears every minute.Amelia had said that she couldn't stand being in the same room with someone who was "ruthless and irresponsible," and that was why he had taken it upon himself to always be there when Amelia wasn't. His only hope is that she will forgive him for being so thoughtless one day.As soon as he noticed she was awake, Zane dashed out the door. He turned into his big black wolf in an instant, worried less about who could see him, and hurried to the physician's house. He had no clue Alpha Luke and Rob
"Are you sure it's still going to fit okay? I seem to have added much in the past few days," Shirley said pulling her button lips between her teeth as as she fiddled nervously with the fabric of her dress."Trust me, it would and you are going to look gorgeous in it," Amelia said smiling with reassurance as she gave her Shirley's dress one look. "Now hurry up, you wouldn't want to be late to your own house opening and the homecoming party of your mate would you?"Shirley's lips twitched as she exhaled slowly, mentally psyching herself up to step out in the public as Luna after several years of staying hidden.'We have got this Shirl,' Shirley's wolf said."Okay," Shirley replied, her eyes sparkling with gratitude as she started putting on her dress. "I feel like a princess," Shirley giggled."You should be talking about looking like a queen now. Leave the title of princess for your son's mate, Constance. You look like a sexy and elega
"Hey," Shirley said with a smile the moment she opened her eyes."Good morning to you too beautiful," Zane replied. As usual, he woke up before her. These past few days were the best she had had so far. They were days they spent to process everything that has happened so far. She woke up every morning to see Zane already awake and staring at her lovingly. She had barely gone out since he returned, just like all those years ago when he got captured, only that this time, she spent her days laughing with him by her side."Tell me again, how did you feel when you found out that you were pregnant with our son?" Zane asked twirling her hair in his hand."That again? I have told you that story several times already, aren't you tired of hearing it? Ask me something else," Shirley replied with a smile."No, I want to hear it again. I want you to tell it to me every day, I can never get tired of it,""It's old news already. What I can't get over

"We need to get out of here and look for Zane," Shirley stated and all the wolves nodded and yipped in agreement."So...any plan? Or are we all going to go look for him?" A wolf said."The plan..... half of us will go in search of him while the rest will stay and watch our back," Shirley replied and immediately they divided themselves into two groups. The plan was to sneak out and look for Zane and Robert and release them before anyone sees them, but it was too big a risk and she wasn't sure how well it would work out when they do not know what they are up against. If Davina killed fifty of them, just how many more are left? Shirley rushed to her son and collected the chains from his hands. She wasn't comfortable in watching her son kill someone before her eyes, if she had her way, she wouldn't want him to kill anyone at all. "I will handle this myself," she said to him, when she saw him hesitate."What the hell are you doing?" Davina gasped, opening her mouth so that she would be able to breathe."What the hell does it look like?" Shirley sneered tightening her hold on the chains. "I am killing you of course,""How...how...how could you? You..you were the...one preaching... about fair and square, so... how could you?" Davina said."Fair and square? I don't know what that fago? Were you been fair when you kidnapped us from our own homes? Were you been fair when you forced my young son watch something so obscene? Answer me! Were you been fair?" Shirley screamed, choking her with the chain. "If you can't answer that, then you have no business speaking about fairness."Da

So this is how you pay me for my generosity and hospitality? I should have known better. Wolves are same with fox and being kind to them is nothing but a waste of one's time, "Davina said.Shirley said. "Did I hear you say generosity and hospitality? Do you even know the meaning of those?" Shirley asked. You will see. Since you are not satisfied with what you are given, I will make it a point of duty that you are no longer given any. "You just lost all your privileges. That is your punishment for disrespecting me," Davina said, kneeling to her level to shove her face away.Shirley laughed and actually barked in her face, which caught her off guard. Then she said, "What privileges are you talking about?
A bang on the door jolted them all from their thoughts and they looked to see a hand push in several trays of food through the section of the door. It didn't take long before the smell of warm food hit their nostrils.Hunter's mouth felt dry and he looked at his mom to confirm if they were going to eat the food or not, and when she nodded, he undid his cuffs and stood up wearily from the floor to go bring the food closer. His knees groaned in protest but he made his way to the latch several times and retrieved the food trays and water."How are you able to get out of this sliver cuff? Didn't it burn you?" Shirley asked when she saw Hunter without his cuffs.Hunter shrugged and said, "I stared at it intently and asked it to open and it did. But I tried opening everyone else's own but it didn't work.""It's okay, it is nothing to be sad about," Shirley replied when she saw his face fall. When he was done bringing the food closer, all except Shirley w
