GRAY’S POV

I left my penthouse later than I usually did. The celebration last night ended past midnight. I stayed not because I enjoyed the company of my employees, but because Kole and Marco went to the same bar that Mr. Mitchell and Ms. Rowans chose.

They arrived fifteen minutes after Serena left. They got invited to our table and unsurprisingly got along with Serena’s team. I only stayed there for the drink, to be honest. I wasn’t even speaking to anyone—including Lina, the plus one that I told Serena last night.

She was one of Aerah’s friends who had been following me around for years now. She was a good woman, and when I said good, she was far from doing the things that my sister usually did. She was with me last night because I foolishly followed Kole’s advice—which was to look to other women instead of liking Serena. I had no plans on pursuing Kelsey Robins like what he suggested.

I ended up noticing Lina, which was a foolish decision, too, as the woman only got her heart

SERENA’S POV I did not expect Caden to be here, but I was definitely not mad. He wasn’t disturbing me, anyway. And this was a great opportunity to show him what was it like inside the Moore Estates. He would have an idea of what kind of environment he was about to face once he successfully bought one of the major shares. “How did you know where my office was? Did Kaihly tell you?” I asked Caden as I signaled him to sit on the visitor’s chair as an offer. We decided to go back to my office instead of staying in the hallway for so many reasons. Caden had the visuals to attract anyone who would see him, so he could be a distraction if we passed by some of the employees’ workplaces. And of course, I would not have them stay in public where people could hear what we were gonna talk about. I was sure Caden didn’t come here just to see me. He was here to discuss something about what we had talked about earlier. “I happened to be in the same elevator as Gray Moore, so I took the chance to

SERENA’S POV A jealous Gray Would surely entertain me. I had not seen him jealous in the years that I had known him. Not even once. Making him jealous meant proving that I was becoming an effective flirt and I would get to enjoy how messed up he could be at the same time. That was like hitting two birds in one stone. I discovered that I tend to have fun whenever I see him perplexed and affected by what I always did.“I am up for everything you wish to happen, Ms. Serena Ambers. As long as you have a valid reason and we’re doing it the right way.”I cracked a laugh.“The only valid reason that I can tell you is my husband and his family ruined my life. What we’re doing right now doesn’t even equal to what they did to me before. I at least want to be even—or punish them more.”The corner of Caden’s lip turned up. My mother mentioned that she had paid Caden a great fortune to participate with us, but to be honest, I didn’t think Caden agreed to team up with my family just because of the

SERENA’S POVI tapped my fingers on my table, my face resting on my palm. It had been thirty minutes since I left Gray’s office, and what he answered me still lingered in my mind. What does he mean he had no idea when did it start? Is he playing with me?How can a person not know when did they start liking a person? Is that even possible?I had to leave his office because an executive passed by and had to talk to him. I didn’t want to be a disturbance so I went back here. Caden left just a few moments ago, so I was alone here since I asked Miranda to take care of the lunch that I promised the team. I had paperwork waiting for me, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to focus so I just let myself fool around, figuring out what the Gray’s answer meant. I tilted my head on the side, my forehead knotting. No matter how much I thought of it, I could not understand it still. If I were to recall when was the time that started I liking him then, I could still narrate every thing about it. It wasn’

GRAY’S POVI should have advised my secretary to not let anyone in my office while Serena was here. I knew it was working hours, but I did not have the energy to talk to anyone aside from her. She left and I could not think of other reasons to make her come back. I just knew she would not believe me if I said it was about work-related stuff. She did not seem to like my answer to her last question, too, so I had zero hopes of seeing her again for the rest of the day. She might have an interest in me, but it was evident that she valued herself more. As she should. It was the only right thing to do.If she did not want to come back here, then I would go to her instead. Her office was just near mine, and I heard the man named Caden already left. I had all the means to go there and talk to her again.“Ahm, are you going somewhere? Where are you going? We can go out together since… I am also about to leave. Please wait for me.”I instantly ceased walking. Shit. I almost forgot that Lina w

SERENA’S POVDoes he think that I would let him talk to me right now right after I saw him with that model? I refused to be one of the women that he could run to any time whenever he was sick with his other girls. How dare he talk to me right after he complained that he was just one of my men? Damn him. I would not let him manipulate me. I was not one of the women who was so obsessed with him. I would be more than willing to dump him right here.“I know what you’re thinking right now, Serena, and I swear that I am not guilty nor doing something like that—”“I did not ask, Mr. Moore. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go ahead. I still have to talk to my secretary.”I passed by him and never looked back. I did not even glance at the model that was just behind him, watching us act like we were freaking lovers.Oh, we used to be, Ms. Model. The man you liked right now had a bad family background. SERENA’S POVWho does she think she is? If she thought that I would back down just because people believed that she was the good one between the two of us, then she was wrong. I did not give a flying care even if her fans would come to me and say mean things online.I would be more than willing to ruin her image because of what she did just now.But I was not that evil, so I would let this pass. Who knows if her modeling career is the only life she had, right? I would not take that from her… at least not now. She was not crossing the line yet. Her insecurity did not even meet Aerah’s attitude. At least this woman still had class inside her because she was not causing any scene. Her voice was so low that only the three of us could hear what she was saying.People would think that we were having a girly talk here, to be honest.“You bitch. I’ll remember what happened today and what are the things you said to me. I’ll make sure you’ll regret all of these,” she stated for the last time, f

  • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   Chapter 84: Fair Boss

SERENA’S POV The old maid was still looking up at the ceiling when I stood right in front of her, failing to notice my presence. She looked different compared to the last time I saw her. She was old but did not have as many wrinkles as she had right now. Her heavy breathing was evident, too, making me think of what was happening to her. She was not this weak the last time I bumped into her. She could even carry that old hag’s stuff back then. In a short time, it seemed like she aged too much.I cleared my throat, breaking the silence between us. Lucia turned her head in my direction, the tiredness in her eyes immediately disappearing as she gazed at my face.“You’re the one who bumped into me the last time you went here. What’s your name?” I asked, pretending to not know. I hadn’t asked Kelly if she had gone to the Moore’s house to investigate this woman. She rarely went out these past few days, so I guessed she hadn’t gone there yet.“G-Good morning, Ma’am. Yes, I am that person. H

  • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   85: Was it Gray?

SERENA’S POV Gray was a great boss here, according to the employees I had talked to then, but I had no idea what he was like toward his servants in his house right now. I could recall that he was just fine to them when we were still married. He paid well and never mistreated the people who worked for his family. He often gave benefits, so whenever they would post for a job hiring, anyone would kill for a spot. I did not know about it now, though. Given that Gray did not even know that Lucia was not working for them anymore, that only proved that he had no interest in knowing what had been going on in his house. Unless the information was intentionally hidden from him, that would be a different story. “I am here to apply for a job, and Gray would automatically know that something happened in his house. I am just not sure whether my application would reach him. He’s the highest person in this company, and I am just an old woman who is already weak. I would not be surprised if my appl

Third, she is the only daughter of Victoria. You know how influential Victoria is due to her connections, right?”“Well, I did not anticipate that. I was busy enjoying the party last night and it fucking shocked me when Aerah made a fucking scene. Is this the kind of drama that you’re dealing with in the Moore Estates almost every day, Gray?”Marco and Kole’s sentences weren’t even interesting anymore. I asked them to come to my penthouse to have a drink with me, as I didn’t want to have this confusion just for myself.Seeing Serena pass out like how she did the last time added to my curiosity about her. She had been working in the Moore Estates for some time now, and it felt like there were still a lot of things that I did not know about her.Just like what my friends told me a while ago. How could I live with those demons for so many years?Jane told me that they still didn’t know who was behind all of these, but thinking that one of them once lived with me for years was just absurd. I couldn’t accept that I served my service to the devils.Jane was currently in the board meeting right now, and I was still here, unable to stop myself from sobbing. My heart was breaking for her. She was too kind to experience such things. She was too kind to even meet those bastards. Now I understood why was she hiding herself. Now I understand why she was being careful all the time. SERENA’S POV“You shouldn’t have done that, Mom. You know I can handle myself. You shouldn’t worry about me too much. I am okay…”I thought I would have to wait for another day before my mom’s face and I would be on the news and all social media platforms. I was wrong.Hours after we had arrived at our house, Kaihly showed us the latest published article about the things that happened at Geraldine Moore’s party—specifically the scene that Aerah Celine made.“Oh, you really expect me to stay chill and act so unbothered while they’re embarrassing you in front of those people? I had never seen such a person act like that in my entire existence! How could they be so shameless and drag you to their mess?! I saw what happened and that young woman was the one who spilled the juice on you!”I massaged my temple and drank the last sip of wine from her wine glass. All of us in the house weren’t sleeping yet because of what happened. This was the first time that we opened the topic because my m

GRAY’S POV“Oh my goodness, Gray! Even you? Are you gonna blame me for that? That bitch ruined your mother’s party! You’re still gonna side her after that?”“What are you expecting me to do, huh?! Why are you blaming the woman for something that she never did? You ruined Mom’s party! You should be taking accountability!”I did not understand how deep her anger was toward Serena, and I did not think I would be able to do that. She made a scene and ruined our mother’s special day for the sake of shaming Serena. Now, even her own mother did not want to see her. She did not just shame herself; she also shamed her whole family.“Do you even know what happened, huh?! Were you there? Of course, you’re gonna say all of that because you didn’t see what the hell that woman did to me! You’re just assuming that I am the one who’s the bad guy here because you never side with me!”My sister stood up and faced me, looking up to meet my gaze. SERENA’S POV “I have been watching what you’re doing to my daughter, young lady. I witnessed everything that happened, Ms. Moore. Are you really one of the Moores? Is this how you represent your mighty family?” My mother’s sophisticated voice echoed throughout the hall, silencing everyone who dared to speak against her. I was still holding my breath, praying that she would not mention anything about the past. I knew she wasn’t dumb to do that, but my anxiety was increasing as she continued informing everyone that I was her daughter. “S-Serena Ambers is y-your daughter, Madame Victoria?!” Geraldine exclaimed, her jaw almost dropping to the floor. I held Caden’s arm and pressed it as if it would do something to calm my mind. “Yes, she is my daughter. And just like you, Geraldine Moore, I can’t also stand seeing my daughter be treated like that by someone who doesn’t seem to think right before taking her actions. You humiliated her in front of these people, Geraldine. I can’t believe

  • The Ex-Wife's Revenge   104: Victoria’s Daughter

SERENA’S POVThis was a fucking wrong move. It would be okay if I was alone here and no one was watching—especially my family. I could make a way out of this and make myself the victim all the time. But Aerah was uninformed that she wouldn’t be able to realize that this was the stupidest shit that she had ever done. This wasn’t just an anniversary or random event; this was her mother’s celebration for fuck’s sake. How could she not realize that her mother’s special day would be ruined because of what she did?Oh, how can I forget that her mother might approve of this? She came from her, anyway. She might be supportive as fuck just so they could humiliate someone. “I didn’t do anything, Aerah. I was just passing by and you happened to pour your drink on me—”“Ah, so you’re pointing the blame on me now, huh? Look at my dress! I know you can pay for this but don’t you know how sentimental this dress is to me? You don’t! What am I gonna do now, huh? You ruined my night!” she interrupted

People are watching. You might as well save it for later.”I could feel Caden tapping me on my arm secretly, but my eyes were unable to look away from the two persons who had just gone inside the hall. I could hear a few murmurs from my surroundings, making me think that I wasn’t the only one surprised by the woman’s sudden appearance.Who the fuck wouldn’t be surprised when he showed up with the woman he cheated on me with before? He even banned Hazel because the woman beat me up so badly!I cleared my throat and turned my gaze to Caden, displaying a smile to hide my irritation. There was something inside me that made me want to ruin this celebration. I didn’t know what to feel, to be honest. But I was afraid that I would do something I might regret later. Fuck.“What’s with that look?” Caden asked me,

SERENA’S POVI went back to my office with a knotted forehead. I had to be professional and not let my personal emotions take over me. I sat down on my swivel chair aggressively, only to stop myself from complaining about what happened in Gray’s office when I saw a gold envelope on my table. I took it without hesitation, opened it, and read what was inside.“Who put this here?” I asked, my eyes focused on what was written on the material. An invitation to attend Geraldine Moore’s 50th birthday?Oh, I did not know that the wench would like to see me on her birthday. Damn, we made the right choice of not adding me as my mother’s plus-one. Is she really the one who invited me or not? I could not bring myself to believe that she wanted my presence on her special day.“Oh, Mr. Moore’s secretary passed by here to give us that. He said that all of the board members were invited to attend the party. A plus one is even allowed, according to him.”Oh…That was what I thought. The old woman did

SERENA’S POVIt was another day to be strong again. I had to face the Moores with all these questions in my brain, and it still sucked because again, I could not remember anything. My mother and I had talked before I left the house, and we had agreed that I would not attend the party unless someone asked me that was not her. We just could not reveal that we were mother and daughters that easily. I still refused to have them investigate my mother even though I was sure that none of them knew her as my father’s wife then. Even I wasn’t aware of her existence until three years ago. “What’s the update about Mr. Garcia taking over Mr. Jordan’s share, Miranda? I haven’t talked to Mr. Moore about it. Is there any progress? Has the CEO already scheduled a meeting?” I asked as I sat on my swivel chair, watching Lucia wipe the picture frames—specifically the frames that had my picture in it. She had been doing that for a while now, but I wasn’t saying anything. I liked watching her do things
