Caleb’s plane landed in Imperial City the next morning.

He did not ask anyone to pick him up, nor did he leave the airport with Finn. Instead, he called Penny.

“I’m at the airport now. Can you come pick me up?”

Though he seemed to be asking if she could come pick him up, he spoke in a tone that was telling her to hurry up.

However, Penny was not the one who had answered the phone. She was in a meeting and had left her phone with Winona.

Winona felt anger bubbling within her when she heard his voice. What gave him the right to speak so matter-of-factly?

Her voice turned cool and distant.

“Ms. Sullivan is in a meeting that will last till the afternoon, Mr. Fergerson.”

Caleb’s brows knitted themselves together. He felt slightly disappointed but did not say much else.

He called Sebastian and asked him to pick him up. Right then, he received a call from Winston asking if he had heard the rumors.

“What rumors?”

“It’s about Penny. They’re saying she has a first love.”
