"If that happens, you'll become the laughingstock of the town!" Ariel said worriedly.

Leon's attitude was clear while they were at Shear Mansion; therefore, there was almost a non-existent possibility of Iris being able to change his mind at the engagement party!

Ariel did not think Iris could succeed at all, and instead, would risk humiliating herself in front of all the guests!

"So what if I become the laughing stock? Leon sacrificed everything for me, and so what if I humiliate myself a little in trying to win his heart back? As long as I tried my best, that's enough, no matter the outcome. I just don't want to regret having not tried at all!" Iris said determinedly. She knew that she did not have much of a chance and was even prepared for the worst outcome already!
