After finding out that Gordon was Snow's ex-boyfriend, on top of how Snow was traumatized romantically before, he immediately felt unhappy with Gordon. He wanted to take the chance to teach Gordon a lesson to take revenge for Snow.

However, Gordon was related to the Hughes, his position was quite high.

If he did not have a good reason to, he could not do anything to Gordon directly. Otherwise, the Hughes would not let it go!

So, he deliberately hid who he was, and even let Gordon go in the middle so he could fan the flames of Gordon's arrogance!

Then, he would have a good enough reason. Even if he ended up accidentally injuring Gordon, the Hughes would have to clench their teeth and accept it!
