Veronica POV

Nikola showed up as expected with his team members, we all broke, and I excused myself right away for a phone call. When I was finally back in my office, I decided to take some personal time. I called my brother who has a few rental properties. I gave him a brief explanation of what was going on, he was happy to help (and take my money).

I successfully avoided Nikola for the rest of the day. I was waiting to hear him leave the office first since it was officially end of day. I hadn’t gathered my wits until about halfway through my team meeting, I didn’t need to put myself in that position again.

Luckily, I was great at focusing my energy. Bella is a dream come true; she is more fun when Peter is not around. I gladly asked her at the end of the meeting to be my assistant and she accepted with a shining aura.

I agreed to pick up the

  • The Empath's Mate   Fixing Mistakes

Nikola POV I didn’t expect to see her here with her family. Peter stopped me when I tried to follow Roni out of the office earlier. I understand he thinks he is doing what is best, damage control was how he put it. I hate feeling like I can’t help her. On our way out I saw Jeremy, he was heading back into the building with his phone in his hand. He mentioned Roni said she was moving this weekend and he would be helping her. I convinced him to let me go along without telling her. He seemed to be on board with me pursuing her, clearly not knowing about our eventful lunch. Before I knew what I was doing, I had walked up behind her and spoke, thankfully Peter took over and saved me.

  • The Empath's Mate   Out with the old

I don’t know a Jackson was the first thought that crossed my mind. I walked to the front door where the man stood in the entry way. He was average height for a man, just under 6 feet, clean shaved, dark hair, and dark brown eyes with pale skin. “Hello, my name is Veronica. How can I help you?” I asked trying to sense his emotions but failing. “My name is Jackson nice to meet you.” He reached his hand out and I shook it. He was colder than usual. “My dog seems to have escaped. I moved in a few blocks over this week, I am scared he may be lost.” He finished. “Welcome to the neighborhood, I am actually moving this weekend, please excuse the mess.” I motioned around. “I haven’t seen anything yet, if you want to l

  • The Empath's Mate   Into the New

Nikola POV As I drove to Roni’s new house, I argued with myself. I felt how stiff she was when I rushed over to her. Peter didn’t want me to do anything drastic, I was trying to hold back. When she wrapped her arms around my back and pulled me closer, I almost marked her. She does want me; I know it. Jessie had taken me by surprise. When he sent Roni inside, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew he was protective, but I easily had 5 inches on him. Him asking me if I was interested in her romantically left me shocked. He was straight forward; I could appreciate that. After I decided to be honest with him and nodded, he returned with a curt nod. We only had 7 boxes left when he finally spoke again. &

  • The Empath's Mate   Fire

Veronica POV I opened the back door of the house stepping outside. There was a porch that was around 20 feet by 8 feet. Nikola was sitting in a chair next to a fire pit. There were lights that went around the railing of the porch giving off a soft glow. The fire was crackling as Nikola smiled. “Where did that come from?” I asked pointing to the fire pit. “Torvi’s idea, do you like it?” His voice was slightly anxious; yet melting me like butter. “It’s amazing, I love sitting by the fire.” I said stepping slowly towards the chair.

  • The Empath's Mate   Relax

I browsed around the woods more before turning around to head back. At that moment, I realized I wasn’t sure which way back was. Feeling slightly lost I decided to center myself. If I reach out, I can try to sense the closest emotions and head in that direction. Maybe I will even find Torvi. I closed my eyes before taking a few deep breaths. I could feel someone was distressed but it was faint. It could easily be someone who over-indulged. I felt a chill in the air around me and decided just to start walking. When I opened my eyes, I heard something behind me move, by the time I turned around it was gone. After a hundred yards I came across a couple making out by a tree and knew I was heading in the right direction. My presence went unnoticed as I internally laughed. I whispered Torvi’s name a few ti

  • The Empath's Mate   Weekend Bliss

Nikola POV I woke before the sun began to rise. After just a couple hours of sleep next to my beautiful mate, I felt reborn. I laid as still as possible watching her sleep. Nothing in the world mattered anymore. I heard Torvi and Jessie try to quietly enter the house. “Shhhh… He is still here! They may be awake!” Jessie sounded as if he was yelling a whisper. I held back my laugh, not wanting to disturb the sleeping angel on my chest. “You are the one being so loud!” Tovi scolded him much quieter. I was only able to hear due to the wolf senses. I laid there for a while longer before I needed to relieve myself. I slid carefully from the bed covering Veronica with the covers. I k

  • The Empath's Mate   Mermaids

Veronica POV I panicked as I drove the usual route into the office. Nikola’s truck hummed ahead of my own vehicle. I thought about how he offered to drive me. I was being ridiculous and childish unable to accept that people would find out. We went to a group activity with other employees, everyone likely already knows. I was just irrational. My thoughts were out of this world this morning. I was oversensitive about everything it seemed. I just wanted to stay in our bubble. I jerked the car into the next lane before making a right-hand turn. A great coffee house was around the corner, and I decided to avoid the office altogether. I could see his break lights flick on when I made the unexpected turn. After making a left into the parking lot and finding the first

Nikola took my hand and lead me inside. I stayed quiet trying to keep my mind clear. Negative thoughts were attempting to surface. I took a few deep breaths to calm myself as we sat back down on the couch. “I didn’t build the house. I purchased it a few years ago, when my alpha said we would be taking over the territory. I did most of the work here and there over the years. I was hoping to have more time before bringing you. I wanted to change some of the décor, who knew you were so impatient.” He smiled. “I am glad you didn’t. This is beautiful, a little masculine, but beautiful. The sun flowers are my favorite.” I said with ease. “Peter is our Alpha. His house is a quarter mile past the driveway at the end

Theo POV As the doctor finished examining Jessie’s bruises, Sage paced eagerly in the corner. I could tell something happened to them both when she touched him. From her reaction, she didn’t have the answers to my questions. The doctor took Finn and Torvi into the next room leaving Sage and I alone, once again. I don’t think she was aware of my presence. She kept her eyes on Jessie’s badly beaten body. I could tell she was feeling helpless. “If what you say is true. Is it not better for you to be touching somehow? I have heard of Nikola helping Cyra in the same way.” I tried to be helpful, unsure why.

Theo POV “I am here to protect him. Clearly you shouldn’t hire me.” I spat at the woman still arguing my presence on the pack lands. “You can call your Alpha; we have permission to be here. Though our visit was scheduled for tomorrow.” I informed. “Oh, you are Prince Theo. Is this…” The doctor paused briefly. “I was told Alpha Nikola’s son was only 17, not yet shifted.” She looked at the boy still in wolf form. “Until now.” I spoke relieved I was finally getting somewhere. “He shifted during the attack. He was crushed. Have you ever seen a wolf remain in form unconscious like this?” “

  • The Empath's Mate   Oxford

Theo POV A couple hundred meters away we came to a small clearing. I did my best to listen for anyone close. My smell was nothing compared to a wolf, using it seemed ridiculous. Due to Jessie’s suspicions I decided to at least try. Coming up nothing, I nodded for him to begin. He threw a few punches, clearly releasing anger and not using his brain. I dodged a few times before turning and landing my own attack. I knocked him down causing him to huff. I chuckled on the inside. He was a wolf, having no clue. It would be a privilege to see him shift. “You need to use your brain. Stop letting your anger control your movements. It’s sloppy and beneath you.” I said before lunging towards him.

  • The Empath's Mate   Norway

Cyra POV As the plane landed in Norway, my eyes were glued to the scenery. The tall mountains stretched as far as my eyes could see. The winter frost melting away as flowers began to bloom. It was the most miraculous site I could imagine. Nikola’s hand was wrapped around my own while I nearly vibrated in the seat waiting to exit the plane. I wanted to run everywhere. See everything. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to discuss our future. I had finally decided I wanted nothing more than to marry Nikola and become Cyra Seeds. We agreed before leaving our estate that we would have a ‘Theo-free’ trip. Jessie and Theo would be in Oxford for the next few days visiting anyways. No time for an

Cyra POV The entire castle looked as if someone has designed it from a fairy tale. There were ribbons, candles, and flowers covering the castle and all the lands. My dress showed my pregnancy a little more than I would have liked. I was roughly around 18 weeks along with a belly to large for my body. The silver covered my skin, leaving my back open with a see-through lace. Nikola took me to my seat outside in the beautiful garden. The flowers were all in full bloom around us. I saw little lights dancing around as the sun began to set. I couldn’t believe in a few minutes; my daughter would be walking down the aisle. I noticed a wilted flower on the chair beside me. I gently placed my hand arou

Cyra POV After lunch Niko and I retired to take a nap. All the heightened emotions of those around me were starting to wear me out. Especially since the babies seemed to be feeding off the same energies. They were moving around as if I was already about to give birth. I woke before Nikola. I didn’t have the heart to move and wake him. He had something on his mind lately. I knew if I tried, I could figure it out. I didn’t want to invade his privacy. I couldn’t imagine what it was like to be on the opposite side of my gifts. “Angel, are you awake?” He said nuzzling my neck. “I was trying to let you slee

Nikola POV The last couple months had flown by. Cyra and I had been travelling back and forth to Occultatum. King James had been oddly helpful. I still had a feeling like there was something else he wasn’t telling us. Cyra trusted him too much in my opinion. My mother and Art called me just over a week ago. They had decided to relocate to our new back here in Ireland. I hadn’t told Cyra yet. I wanted to announce it at Torvi’s wedding this weekend. I knew she would be over the moon. I just hoped Art would take me up on my offer. I knew he never had any intentions of becoming a leader of his own pack. Peter had tried multiple times as well as other packs across the globe. Cyra POV “Good morning!” Sage cheered as she entered the living room. “Hello there. Surprise visit?” I questioned keeping my tone cheerful. “I just wanted to come see you early on the big day. How do you feel now that you’re about to give birth in a few months as your son graduates high school?” She chuckled. “Very funny. Honestly, it seems like this is the way it is meant to happen. Theo POV Finn and Torvi escorted us to Alpha Nikola’s new estate. Alpha Nikola… I couldn’t catch a break. It’s not that I wanted him to fail Cyra as a mate. I wanted the best for her. The jealousy that crept to the surface when I should be happy for her as well as Nikola was more than I could bear. I wanted to be happy for Nikola. If I was being honest with myself, he was more than I could have wished for in a companion for Cyra. Myself aside. I knew I wasn’t good enough for her. She deserved so much more. I just needed to remove myself from the situation. I had thought about it for a while now. I tried to speak with Nikola on the matter; he completely disregarded me. For someone who always h
