Ch. 89

Dex stayed true to his word and didn't give Toni or I a moment alone. Mom had me sleep with Eric. I think she was worried for us all and wanted me to be there for Eric. Toni slept in that room alone and Dex slept in a guest room next to Eric's.

Eric was still pretty attached to Dex for some reason. I am not sure what Dex did or said to Eric to have such an effect on him. I think it's kind of cute, but also worrisome.

Eric really was a worse sleeper than I. I woke up so many times to a heel in the stomach. He kicked, tossed and turned and hogged all the blankets. Eventually, I gave up and slept on the floor. I thought of Ash and our sleepovers. I am so ready to get him back. I hope he hasn't succumbed to his darkness too much.

I woke up to a light knock on the door. Mom had stepped in quietly and woke me up. She looked dressed and ready, which made me wonder what time it was? Did I oversleep? I quietly followed her out of the room. We were careful not to wake Eric.
