22- The Deal

Layla is sleeping peacefully next to me as thoughts swirl in my mind. I know tomorrow will reveal many things to us and I am slightly afraid. I go back to the day of her death and remember the deal I had made just prior to her and I getting married. All this time I had thought he had lied to me. He had agreed to our deal on the condition that when the time came I was to end his life. I agreed quickly, willing to do anything to save the woman I loved but she was killed a year later, or so I thought. When the time came to end his life I did so gladly thinking he had lied to me and used me as a pawn in some twisted game. I never knew that he had somehow spared her. Saved her from death only to wipe her memories and force us to live apart not knowing the other existed. Fate has a funny way of making things work I think to myself with a quiet chuckle. I try to calm my thoughts and get some sleep knowing dawn will be upon us soon.

The Draven's 23- Unborn Savior
Layla's POV:I am breathing deeply and trying to absorb everything while keeping myself calm. Some time later Miranda appears beside me."I know you have questions that you want answers to. I am afraid we may not be able to answer all of them but we can try." She says gently."I get why he did it Miranda I really do but...why didn't he tell me? Why keep it a secret? Doesn't he trust me?" I ask."Love can make us do some pretty crazy things Layla." She replies."We may not have the answers you seek but I will give you what I know and help guide you to discover the truth. We will be waiting for you inside." She says then turns to leave.I stand outside a few minutes longer then head back inside. Once I am back inside Miranda brings me to the kitchen and motions for me to sit down. Nicolae is seated beside me and James is across from him. MIranda seats herself in front of me and reaches out and grabs my hands from across the table.
The Draven's 24- Awaken
Layla's POV:"A hallow." I reply emotionlessly as I look up at everyone.Nicolae looks at me with shock all across his face as James furrows his brows and Miranda looks at me in disbelief. In that moment I feel as if I am alone in the world all over again and I feel sadness, anger, and emptiness rise up inside of me."If you'll excuse me." I say as I slowly stand from my chair.No one says a word or moves a muscle as I turn and walk out of the kitchen and leave. I shoot Victor a quick message to pick Lorie up today and then begin walking aimlessly down the street. Victor replies back that he will and then asks if I am ok. I ignore the last part of his message and get reabsorbed in my thoughts as I am walking. Before I know it I am on the outskirts of town and it's starting to get dark. I contemplate for a minute about turning around and going back to the manor but I decide not to.I had expected Nicolae to at least try to stop me but he didn't. I w

Nicolae's POV:"Zeke!" I yell as soon as I enter my office."Yes master?" He says with a dignified bow."What do you think you are doing bringing your queen here without first consulting me?" I yell."So what if he did?" Layla snaps then comes to stand between Zeke and I before he can reply."Do you know how much danger you could have been in?" I yell."I was perfectly fine! The Draven's 26- Apologies
Layla's POV:I am looking around the large room taking in the large bed in the center of the room. Deep red silk curtains hang around the bedpost and the bed has red sheets to match. There is a set of beautiful white oak end tables next to both sides of the bed that match the bed frame and posts. The walls are a lite grey color and make the lighting in the room look less dark than the outside hallways. There are bookshelves that line the walls and two chairs sitting almost side by side a few feet away from them."Do you like it my love?" I hear Nicolae's voice come from behind me."I do." I reply as I feel him wrap and arm around me."We should shower and head to bed. We will have a busy day tomorrow." He whispers and I feel a chill shoot up my spine."Would you like to go first?" I ask."Hmm, I'd rather you join me." He says as he brushes his hand against the mark.Before I am able to protest I find myself inside the large bathroom.
The Draven's 27- Don't Hold Back
Nicolae's POV:I smile realizing that I am slowly pushing her to the edge of madness causing her hunger to peak. Layla's mouth is just slightly open and I can see her eye teeth have grown. I remember her crying out in pleasure the moment my teeth sunk into her soft skin and how she had pushed me into herself harder in the moment of passion. I silently wonder what it would feel like if I was to let her mark me but then again I also have a feeling I will know soon enough what it feels like to be marked, and to be marked by the woman I love."If you really want me to restrain myself I will." Nicolae's POV:A sudden knock comes from the door and I hear Zeke's voice from the other side."Breakfast is waiting in the kitchen for you and my lady master." Zeke says and then the room goes quiet again."I guess we need to get out of bed." Layla says as she stretches and begins to stand up."We need to go back to the manor today. I'm sure Lorie is wondering where we are." She says looking over her shoulder at me."Hmm, or my queen could come back to bed." I reply with a mischievous grin.Layla waves her hand in the air and in an instant she is clothed."Well that's no fun." I say jokingly."Maybe I should remove them." I continue."Nicolae I am walking out of this room so I suggest you leave my clothes where they are and that's on my body." She says walking to the door."I will punish you later for this my queen." I say as I get out of bed and walk towards her waving my hand and clothing myself as well.

Nicolae's POV:"Father, I think it's time we all take a trip. After all everyone should be made aware of who my family is...isn't that right Lorie." I say with a grin.My father looks at me for a moment then realizes that we are not alone."There's no use hiding, I know you are in here." Lorie asks looking down at the floor between us."Lorie, Layla is a very powerful person and she is also my wife. Layla may not be by your side all hours of the day and night but this will always be her home and she will always return here." I say trying to calm Lorie's fear."Are you really the devil?" Layla’s POV: The next morning we spent time settling Lorie into my old room and packing for our trip. Once we were all packed we met in the living room and Nicolae phazed us to the underworld where Zeke greeted us warmly. “Welcome back your majesty, my lady.” He said with a bow. “Thank you Zeke. Have you prepared the rooms already?” Nicolae asks as Lorie peaks out from behind me. “Yes I will escort you all to your rooms.” Zeke replies. Zeke shows Victor his room first then Lories then he takes us back to the room Nicolae and I were in the night before. “I request your presence in the conference room after you both have settled in your majesty.” Zeke says with a bow. “I will be there shortly.” Nicolae replies and Zeke leaves the room, closing the door behind him. “You seem to be distracted, my queen.” NIcolae says as he takes me in his arms. “Aren’t you worried that something might happen?” I ask as I lean into him. “Everything will be fine my love. Layla’s POV: I slowly blink my eyes as the room comes back into focus. I sit up slowly to see Amanda sitting in a chair in the corner of the room. “You should really rest my lady. The little ones will be up soon and we have a long journey to begin tomorrow.” She says with a smile. “A long journey? Where are we going?” I ask curiously. “It has been decided that we will be returning to the underworld soon.” She replies. “But..is it safe to be phasing this far with the twins just being born?” I ask as I glance at their cribs. “Oh no my lady, your husband has arranged special transportation for us. He insists we go by car until we can go no further then phase into the underworld. Most of the others have already gone ahead and we will follow in three days after you have rested more.” She replies with a reassuring smile. Layla’s POV: I cry out in pain in response and I can feel Amanda hand on top of my pelvis. “Push now!” She says and I push as hard as I can and scream out in pain as I begin to feel like I am being ripped in two. “Alright, that was good again!” She says and I push again. Waves of pain continue to crash over me with each push as the minutes seem to drag by. “Please make it stop!” I cry out in pain and I grip Nicolae’s hand tighter. “You're the only one here that can make the pain stop, my lady now push!” Amanda instructs and I push once more. Layla’s POV: The day was finally here and we were being summoned into the valley by our enemies. Our army readied themselves and with a wave of my hand I clothed them in the finest armor and gave them the finest weapons. Layla’s POV: Amanda begins to go over what procedures I will be undergoing tomorrow and we work together all afternoon on everything from baby names to a birthing plan. I was nervous and scared as my thoughts raced with all the information I had discovered in the few short hours I was awake but a sense of peace also lingered in my chest that I couldn’t explain. The next morning came quicker than I had intended and Nicolae took some time away from working to escort me to the doctor Amanda had found. Once the initial check up was complete I was rushed into a dark room where the doctor began to measure our baby. They told us it was still too early to detect a heartbeat and suggested that I come back in two weeks time. Nicolae and I agreed and after we had our next appointment we phased back to the underworld and began to prepare for our trip.
