Chapter 4.

Catherine stood in the midst of hefty looking men, they were all gathered around her listening to the instructions she was passing out to them.

"Your Boss is safe, he didn't die as a result of the gunshot," Catherine informed, which made the men heave a sigh of relief.

They heard the news of the incident that occurred in the hospital and got informed of their Boss being shot and almost dead.

This had put them into jeopardy as the next Mafia clan under their Boss didn't hesitate to pay them a visit to inform them to get prepared for the gruesome battle that occurs before a new over all underworld Mafia Lord is being chosen. That was what Edwardo passed through before he won.

"When will he be discharged, we have already been informed to prepare for the Death battle for the selection of another Mafia Lord with everyone thinking he is now dead," the second in command said to Catherine.

"How dare them, they would all be murdered for not hesitating to set up another battle. I must make sure Edwardo kills them all in cold blood," Catherine said with anger.

This put a smile up in the faces of the men and gave them another hope to continue being as the top Mafia clan headed personally by the Mafia Lord himself.

"Make sure you submit their names before tomorrow, we would get their captures to be killed immediately Edwardo gets discharged," Catherine said.

"Yes, my lady," the second in command replied with a bow.

"I have a job for all of you, anyone that gets it, would have the chance of getting $500 dollars. I want you to start hunting for my Ex son in-law, Daniel Costello. He was the one behind the murder of my daughter and the attempted murder of your Boss. He has gotten a new face with the help of plastic surgery but came to the wedding with a mask. I want to know his new face. I want him to be identified, so he could be easily hunted," Catherine explained and showed them Daniel's picture before the accident.

"We are at your service, my lady. We would make sure we get him before a month," The second in command assured, and this brought joy to Catherine.

They hardly lose a mission and find anyone they are instructed to find even if he lives in a hole.

"Good, now I have a meal for the twenty of you," Catherine said and waved her hand. Two men dragged a blind folded nurse towards them and pushed her down in their midst.

"She thought she could behave anyhow with me, show her a lesson. Make sure you all cripple her legs so he wouldn't walk ever again," Catherine instructed.

"Yes my lady," the men chorused happily, another fresh meal has been brought to them. One of them didn't hesitate to tear off the nurse's uniform and left her with only her undies.

"I'm so sorry ma'am, please forgive me and don't allow them to touch me. I'm getting married this weekend," the nurse pleaded with tears running down her face while her chest rose and fell with fear.

"No, you choose greediness and this is what greedy people always get. Boys, go into action, if possible, tear her apart. Dive into her like hungry lions," Catherine instructed and started leaving with a triumphant look on her face.

The nurse started screaming as one of the men widened her legs and tore her pants off, ready to start the mission they were assigned to.

Catherine continued walking away, not listening to the nurse's pleas and screams.

"If only she accepted the little I offered her to keep quiet about what she saw, but she became greedy and asked for what I could never give out for free," Catherine murmured to herself. Her personal driver opened the door and she entered before he slammed it shut.

Earlier one of the doctors instructed a nurse to head to Edwardo's ward to administer some antibiotics to him, when she got there, she didn't immediately come in, first of all, she peeped through the window to check if he was alone and got the shock of her life when she found Edwardo and his mother in-law kissing.

After a while of watching them through the window, she decided to act like she didn't see anything and knocked on the door before entering.

After administering the drugs, she became curious to know what would happen next and went to stand by the window to continue peeping at them hence everywhere around the ward was quiet and no one was around, it took her unaware when Catherine opened the door and walked out.

She hurriedly started running away when she noticed Catherine had seen her, so Catherine chased after her and caught up with her.

She questioned her why she was peeping at them and the nurse threatened to expose her to her husband.

Catherine begged her not to say anything and offered her 10,000 dollars to keep her mouth shut but she refused and demanded 100,000 dollars, Catherine pleaded with her to take the $10,000 but she refused so Catherine got an idea, she asked the nurse to escort her to the house to enable her to give her the $100,000 she demanded and she foolishly agreed.

In the car, Catherine's driver blindfolded the nurse under instructions and put a cloth over her mouth so she not scream out loud and attract attention.

Catherine ended up taking the nurse to her Mafia's den for her to be punished. She knew the nurse would be raped to death but she cared less, that's how she would pay for being greedy.

The celebration was over and all of Dan's workers were heavily intoxicated with a high amount of alcohol. Dan was already in his room, he drank with them but not to the point of being drunk, he was always conscious of how much he drinks.

He dried his body with a towel as he walked out of his bathroom, his phone started vibrating showing incoming calls from a strange number.

He hesitated to pick it up for fear of being tracked but decided to when he remembered the call coming in the phone with his number hidden as a private number.

He knew it was his Ex mother-in-law, she was the only one he called with

the number.

He picked up the call and put it on a loudspeaker, he sat on his bed with his lips curved up in a smile.

"You God-damned mother fucker," came Catherine's voice as he guessed. He chuckled, trying not to laugh hard.

"I'm calling you again to remind you that you can't get away after killing my daughter… I will make you pay for every pain you have cost me, I will make you pay for tarnishing my family's image and making us the topic of the month's gossip," Catherine said with rage.

"Are you done?" Dan asked and laughed out loud when he couldn't hold his laughter any longer. This got Catherine angry and she started ranting non-stop at the top of her voice.

"I killed her because she betrayed me with your help, and not only that you staged an accident which almost cost me my life, and made away with all hard-earned money and properties," he simply replied after the rantings stopped without care and remorse.

"I'm coming after you because you destroyed my family, I will make sure your life becomes miserable," Catherine vowed with anger over the phone.

"I'm the one that is supposed to be very angry after everything the two of you made me go through… I hope she rots in hell, you are next to join her," Dan promised, his happy countenance changing to that of rage.

"You will be the next, I will make sure I spit on your corpse," Catherine replied.

"I will be waiting then, people like you deserve to rot in hell, all of you alongside your bitch of a daughter who has already been sent there to pave a way for your coming," Dan said and the line went dead.

Daniel immediately dialed James' phone and it went through.

"Hello, Boss!" James's voice came on.

"Catherine just called, make sure you put an eye on her every move," Dan instructed with a cold voice.

"Yes, Boss!" I found their den today," James said.

"What Den?" Dan asked with curiosity.

"The Mafia's Den, Catherine took a nurse whom she caught peeping at her and her lover in the hospital there. I happened to trace her to know what she was up to when I found her with the nurse getting into her car," James explained.

"I hope you didn't intervene?" Dan asked, his voice becoming soft with concern.

"No, I didn't but there's a problem. I'm still around there and one of their dogs just found me," James informed.

"That means, they had also found you," Dan completed with suspense.

"James, James," he called but the line went dead.
