Chapter 6 We're not Done Yet

(Sena POV)

"Let us be alone,” he ordered his men without lifting his gaze from me. They scrambled off like bubbles but my brother suddenly knelt in front of the demon.

"Boss...she's my sister. Let me punish her myself.”

“Brother!” Get up, you’re a shame to our Family’s pride!

The rest of his remaining mates dragged him out with them. So, I was left alone with the demon. Pssh. The man was really proud. He’s standing while I, unfortunately, was still trying to get up.

Why do abusive people even exist?! You're all hurtful! You should live in Pluto! If it’s a fight you want then bring it on!

I was the only girl in our course batch and all of them were like tamed dogs whenever they faced me. Yes. I was the school bully, the classroom bully to be exact. But not the stereotypical coward who bullied nerds and women who weren’t brave enough to stand up for themselves. There were women who were on my level but not exactly tough as me. They’re the bitchier type. After riots, they usually get wasted or stoned as f---.

At the moment I wasn’t challenging a masochist, certainly not a dog, but a devil.

Should I act preppy or cute? NO! That’s disgusting.

Act pathetic and beg? NO. That’s a loser’s thing.

They say all I needed to do with a demon was cut its horns. How though?! I couldn’t even see the horns.

"Fight me with your best, otherwise I’ll kill you. If you win, you and your brother will have your lives,” he said.

My eyes narrowed. Did he ever visit the church or even read God's Ten Commandments? A’ight, he’s the killer then. I only listened because I was bleeding from his English lines.

Hey Sena, you're really abnormal. The guy is challenging you. Well, about the challenge, he picked the wrong chick to mess with.

I was from the family that owned the small Martial Arts Training School in Manila. Unfortunately, the school closed when the best martial teacher there was gone. It was my mom. My brother wanted the school to live on but we had no money to renew the permit and obviously his ability was questionable. Apparently because my mom was a gold medalist at the Olympics. Yeah, and I'm proud of her. My parents never got justice for their deaths. It was saddening and disappointing how their case got on cue for so long until it was dismissed.

I suspected a lot that a big tycoon group in the country Masterminded their tragedy. My brother and I were handed their cold bodies in the morgue and that was the end of it.

Now that the guy I was against with was one of those who were mercilessly murdering helpless people, I was infuriated. They take lives without knowing how it felt to be bereaved.

I broke in tears. Getting left hurts like hell, if you knew what I mean.

Most of the time my brother acted so passive about our family’s pride. Maybe because he lost more people than I did. He also lost his wife. So as much as I could, I avoided reminding him of the past. My parents would’ve wanted us to live in peace.

I smirked at the guy. I could pour out my entire resentment against the world into him.

You’re dead! Life’s so unfair and I’ll let you see that!

"Wait, can you--- I mean, do you understand our language?” I was concerned I might sound crazy if I babbled in Tagalog. He did not respond to the question but never mind. “The conditions seem unfair, can I add?”

"As you please,” he replied. The alien did understand Tagalog then.

"Hmmm...” My stomach growled. “Prepare snacks--- or maybe dinner. I doubt we’ll finish our fight before sunset. Deal?”  He just smirked.

I’m goddamn serious! But well, I didn’t make any sense. His stake would be our lives while mine was food.

"You’re going to include those people you hurt to a buffet. You’re too much! Don’t you have conscience? I know you’d melt if you ever enter a church,” I added.

"Be my guest. I will even treat the whole nation their dinner.”  I stared at him in ridicule.

Who is he to be acting so cocky on me? But obviously Sena, he’s got the capacity to feed all your countrymen. Even his looks could win the highest bid. Fun fact, his ID picture could be worth more than your life.

"Dinner?! The whole country? Hey, I’m being honest. I know your bet is a joke but mine isn’t. I’m not kidding when I said you only give me and your victims tonight’s dinner.”

"Can we just start, Miss?” he said in annoyance.

I took three steps backward and bowed because eventually, since we’re in a brawl, I would end up hurting him. I might be a woman in façade but a man in determination, especially when I vowed I’d give him muscle pain.

I apologize in advance, loser.

I tied my hair tightly and tried to give the poor guy a sneaky punch, since he must’ve not known our fight was already beginning. But immediately he caught my arm and elbowed me in the back.

Ouch!

I knew then that he wasn’t Martial Arts illiterate and that didn't give a damn care about my sexuality.

God. I heard my panting echo in the room. One jab and I was already tired. I could even imagine the parts he hit to be welting anytime soon. All my hits missed in the rhythm of his martial dance. He’s just amazing while I was like a dry plum pasted on the floor.

"Get up.”

"Are you a demon?” I knew I wouldn’t be getting my last supper.

"Shut up.” He made me remember my mom. Aside from him, she's the only person who’d fight me intently without that gender stereotype. And she used to tell me I had to prove men that women aren’t weak.

I hated that sexist mentality about women. A lot of girls are played with because of our ‘fragile’ label. So, growing up I tried to be strong. Ha, mom was even stronger than my dad. Dad was nerdy, helpful, but would always get physically bullied by mom. He’d always have his bones broken, but not his love for her would not.

I wasn’t new to pain. Mom did me good with her kicks and punches whenever we spar. And every time I was already hurting, I’d just sit on the floor and beg her that I couldn’t fight anymore.  After I say “I can’t do it.” she’d lift me up on my feet and kick me one last time.

But this guy didn’t do that.

I didn’t get a final kick from him, but a towel big enough to hide my defeated red face. I thought I’d hear my death sentence but instead I heard him call...

"George!”  The door opened and a tall spectacled man entered. I didn’t clearly see his face.

"Give the Government a budget for a nationwide dinner treat,” the boss said. I wanted to faint. “And give this woman her three-day body treatment and a massage.”

I was surprised to hear that. I tried to peek from the towel but wrapped it back when I caught his gaze. He’s still staring at me.

"We're not yet done.”
