Chapter 96: Proud

Derrick and Zin were sitting around the couch with steaming cups of coffee in hand, deep in conversation about Lyra.

"Do you remember the first time we met her?" Zin asked.

Derrick took a sip of his coffee and nodded. "Yeah, she was so quiet and reserved; she barely said a word. It was like she was afraid of her own shadow."

Zin chuckled and said, "That's definitely not the case anymore."

Derrick smiled and said, "No, it's not. She's come a long way since then. I remember when she first told us about her father and how she was afraid of him. It broke my heart to see her so scared."

"Yeah, but now she's brave enough to face him and stand up for what's right," Zin said with a hint of pride in her voice.

"She's amazing," Derrick said. "I admire her so much for putting herself on the line to protect the people she loves. She's grown into such a strong and confident young woman."
